  1. Taken from Newcastle's Facebook page, for those who haven't seen it (or got FB): Everyone at Newcastle Speedway were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of long-time Diamond's supporter Gary Beaty this morning. Gary had supported the club for many, many years and most notably as one of the meeting security stewards until health issues prevented him from fulfilling that role, but he continued to attend every meeting with his fiancee Mandy. Gary had a varied set of interests including Newcastle United and events throught the City, and enjoyed a famous session as a contestant on Channel 4s Countdown a few years ago. Gary's presence at our future meetings will be missed immensely by staff management and fans alike and the Club would like to send out heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Mandy and all Gary's friends and family. R.I.P Gary
  2. I don't know who does the Scorpions Twitter feed, but the Scunthorpe team was put on there at about 5pm today.
  3. An obvious statement to make, but a lot will depend on who's riding in Poland that day.
  4. As I say, not always the case. Some guests want a guarantee, for a start.
  5. Depends on the agreement between the rider and the club he's guesting for. What the injured rider he is replacing earns has got absolutely nothing to do with any arrangement made.
  6. Maybe a daft question, but, can you pay admission on the night, or do you have to buy in advance? Thanks in advance.
  7. If their averages are below 4, they remain on a 4.
  8. He rides for Mildenhall in the NL, who also ride their home meetings on Sundays, so it would depend if he would want to make a permanent step-up to the SGB Championship.
  9. If he did that he would cop a 28 day ban, therefore effecting him riding in the NL for Belle Vue.
  10. I thought last night's meeting was one of the best I've seen up at Shielfield for a while. Some great tactical riding, especially when TJ protected Jacob in heat 9. With our home form, it's still all to play for, but, hopefully, we can go 7 or more clear by heat 15. I also thought all riders gave 100%, including Danny, who clearly had engine problems after retiring from heat 2.
  11. Teams: NEWCASTLE: Steve Worrall, Max Clegg, Lasse Bjerre, Matthew Wethers, Thomas Jorgensen, David Wallinger, Danny Phillips.BERWICK: Aaron Summers, Jye Etheridge, Paul Starke, Dany Gappmaier, Nikolaj B Jakobsen, Coty Garcia, Leon Flint. Wallinger for Bukhave, due to Jacob having Danish commitments. Makes t even more interesting.
  12. The Line-ups (courtesy of SpeedwayGB website) BERWICK: Aaron Summers, Kevin Doolan r/r, Dany Gappmaier, Jye Etheridge, Nikolaj B Jakobsen, Coty Garcia, Leon Flint.NEWCASTLE: Steve Worrall, Max Clegg, Lasse Bjerre, Matthew Wethers, Thomas Jorgensen, Jacob Bukhave, Danny Phillips.
  13. Tero has been available all season after Workington closed.
  14. Wouldn't disagree with any of that. The only thing I would say though is the NL is now down to just 8 teams, so team spaces are limited. But you still have the likes of (and I'm not picking on these riders particularly!) Rob Ledwith, Paul Bowen and Ben Wilson, although, that said, it isn't as bad as it used to be.
