  1. I take your point but at the end of the day there is only one sticking point to not allowing a Tier 5 application and that is the BSPA all they have to do is say yes. Doyle and Davies are riders that bring something to the table, they are not 3pt chancers. So I ask again what is the reason for turning them down on a, perfectly acceptable to the border agency, Tier 5? I'm starting to think there's some self interest operating on the management committee, heaven forbid!
  2. I suggest that the honourable gentleman goes away and does his homework properly and them come back and tell us why a Tier 5 is actually being refused as what he has spouted off in the Star is not true. There is no reason why a Tier 5 cannot apply other than the BSPA won't allow it.
  3. Looks like more bad news on the way. Mark lemon has tweeted this today. Mark Lemon (@SkidMark73) 29/01/2014 13:47 Another one bites the dust #ukvisas It's confirmed, this is a bloody nightmare. All parties involved are doing there best to resolve it
  4. Looking at the line up, if JD makes it over, Somerset would have a line up where they take priority with all their riders in the event of a fixture clash. So I'd say you are right.
  5. Always remember it was a bit special when Belle Vue came to town with Collins, Morton and Wilkinson. Cradley were the Belle Vue of the early eighties and I looked forward to there visits. As far as individual riders go I'd say Ole Olsen and Ivan Mauger were top of the list. Woffinden? Yes it's good to see him but the riders these days don't seem to carry the same aura as they did in yesteryear, or maybe it's because I was a lot younger and a bit more excitable in those days?
  6. Nobody is trying to make the BSPA scapegoats for JD's lack of a visa, we're just saying that he could ride on a Tier 5 if the BSPA agree and that there doesn't appear to be any reason why they can't. As for your last sentence, I admire you optimism my friend
  7. I still maintain there's nothing stopping him riding here on a Tier 5 other than the BSPA. So perhaps they'd care to comment?
  8. I'm sure the Mods will put it back on track for a small consideration, say £50 (in small denomination English notes of course)
  9. Would love to see Nick back. Does anyone know ,if he does come back, how many meetings he would miss as he'll be Swindon's asset, U21 Aussie WTC and could also enter the World U21.
  10. I think they must be self employed as I don't think the clubs pay their tax or NI.
  11. If I read that correctly the BSPA can sanction his Tier 5 visa as a temporary worker from 1st March to 31st Oct?
  12. No Idea. The link you posted goes to a statement on the legal position of Scottish banknotes. My point was that Salmond has stated that Scotland will retain the pound sterling and the treasury has replied no you won't.
  13. Alex Salmond: We will retain the pound Treasury: No you won't This is another example of the lies the Salmond is putting about. So Euros it is provided he gets membership which is doubtful as he'll have to join the queue for membership.
  14. I was a bit worried there as I was very careful not to mention tactical crossing of the border
  15. Why? We've accepted their dodgy notes for years
  16. I hear Soros is planning a hostile takeover
  17. Sorry I should have been clearer in my post. The only round that affects the Brits in the Elite League is 23/05 when Coventry host Eastie. I don't think there's anything the BSPA can do about other federations sanctioning their riders to take part in this event. Why not let Tai and Bomber contest the 1st and 2nd rounds and then send a substitute for Bomber for the last round. All that's happening here is 2 riders are being prevented from earning some decent money and the BSPA are missing an opportunity to have a British presence on a televised event.
  18. Surely there would be little if no impact on the Elite League as the pairs will be on a Saturday, unless as per GPs the riders are required to practice on the Friday? Does anyone know if that's the case?
  19. Of course, wouldn't miss Havvys Farewell.
