How about Hancock King Nicholls Heeps Manzares Greaves Hume or mountain For next season? Get Hancocks name on a contract we can use guests to cover when he is unavailable which I guess would be most weeks.

If that's true Regards Redcar then the writing is well and truly on the wall for this once great sport! The old NL had got it right the only time I remember Ipswich using a guest in there 2 NL seasons was when Andy Galvin rode for us at home against King's Lynn in an inter league challenge. -

Problem is if it carries on like it is at the moment the riders will have zero income as the sport will be dead. I might be alone but doubling up guest riders and double points are the reasons why I no longer attend more than once or twice a season. -

It's impossible for fans overhere to feel the same when riders are racing for different clubs and guesting for the opposition. Thing is the promoter's have not grasped that and we find ourselves in a situation where we're possibly stuck with doubling up guests and other crack pot rules because they the promoter's cannot afford to do anything else and we have a rider shortage due to cut backs and lack of track time years ago. The cycle needs breaking otherwise the sport will dye. -

Tune in to BT sport tonight to see all that is wrong. A promotion/relegation meeting which could end up seeing both sides in the top flight next season while Lakeside could end up promoting theirselves . Three Ipswich riders riding for Leicester who will be riding for Ipswich against Sheffield later this week. Scott Nicholls guesting for Sheffield tonight before guesting for Wolverhampton later this week before guesting for Sheffield again later against Ipswich. Complete and utter madness! -

We have ended up there now riders missing through riding abroad or for other teams. That plan was the last time the sport really tried to change since then it has just been cut cut cut. Attending Ipswich during their NL days was a pleasure those 7 guys were my team week in week out no chance of being injured riding for someone else and at least 22 heats of racing every week oh happy days.... With no guest! -

To be honest I liked how Stewksbury ran the old National League back in the late 1980s. His plan to bring the then BL and NL together was the last time the promoter's came up with anything like away forward. -

Agree a points limit for 2018 and stick to that for the next 5 seasons at least. If the 2018 champions or any other side who are over the limit then wants to keep their 2018 together allow them to. However as soon as changes are made then they have to comply with the points limit. If you are running a team sport the supporters need to identify with their team. Under the current set up that cannot happen! That reply just about sums up speedway it will always happen regardless of if the fans like it well the fans don't just look at all the empty spaces on the terraces! This once fine sport needs to wake up and change otherwise you'll be left with one man and his dog waiting to get in that's if the dog doesn't get fed up and walk away! -
Nicholls & Gino to return?

I want to be able to support my team so for that reason the doubling up rule needs scrapping so that the named seven riders are your team and they are not committed to other clubs. The guest rule needs amending so its use becomes rare I remember the old NL in 89/90 banned guests all together. I remember Ipswich 98 when we were winning week in and week out however they were my team. Also we lost the NL title chance in 89/90 because of poor form and injuries however again those 7 were committed to Ipswich they rode for no one else. This year King Schilen Greaves Mountain Newman and Heeps all have other clubs. This along with guests have taken the team aspect away you might aswell pull 7 names out of the hat each week. So for me no doubling up preferably no guests definitely no double points and I'll come back on a regular basis. This coming from an Ipswich fan from 84 to 2012 and neutral from 2014 to present. Up until 2008 or 09 I was almost an ever present at Ipswich however during my final season the rules were changed half way through the season regarding the play off from the top 6 to the top 4 making it through. At the time this played a part in our number one rider Hampel leaving mid season. By the time the following season arrived I had just had enough of speedway & started to pick & choose when I would attend. This started with about 10 meetings a season which was done to one by last season & 2 this year. My reason for returning on Saturday night was the fact that it was a big meeting with 2 well matched sides & no double points rule. The atmosphere was fantastic & the racing was good which gives me heart that the sport can still provide a great night out. My first visit this year saw the visiting team not giving a 100% which lead to very poor racing a couple of riders clearly out of there depth & the use of the double points rules with guests thrown in aswell. All in front of a poor crowd with no atmosphere. For me in even consider going back every week the double points need dropping the use of guests needs scrapping or at least only used once in a blue moon & doubling up needs to go. The big point is that I feel no connection to 'my team' because the riders are riding for other teams all over the place. So Saturday I attend not as an Ipswich fan but as a neutral able to enjoy an meeting between to good teams. I need connection to my team to part with £16:00 every week. Added in the bikes are clearly to quick but that is another matter........
