Having heard & read Coleman’s comments about our squad being too old I can’t see him going for Freddie. To be honest we need to look to the future and get some young blood in there. As for Holder is he even going to be fit the last update wasn’t great.

After Laguta’s attitude last time he was on these shores I’m surprised why anyone would want him anywhere near Foxhall. Bewley is a possibility but look elsewhere for the 2nd heat leader.

I personally think we’ll see a completely new look side. Maybe Toby from this year with Brennan but certainly no more than that. Just a hunch possibility Emil might fancy it again. I can’t see Doyle being back something tells me that’s an avenue Mayfield won’t go down.

He thanked the supporters & the sponsors for sticking by them this year. After the take over they asked for people to stick by them & not judge them on 26. He thanked everyone from the bottom of his heart for doing that. acknowledged that the performance last night wasn’t good good enough but he would avenge that next year. Exciting plans are in place for next season however as yet he isn’t able to share & they have been working on those plans for some time. Thats what I like about him several times this year he has publicly engaged with the supporters. The guy is a breath of fresh air. Personally as for next year I’d take Toby back in two minds about Tom part of me thinks he is a bargain on his average, the other parts isn’t so sure. As for Danny again on the fence had a very good season however could be a risk on his average if the league is stronger. If the points limit stays the same again his average might go against him. Id also personally try & get scott involved as team manager.

I think it will be a complete revamp in 27. In 2 minds about Brennan tbh. Not sure on King on a higher average. I personally think we’ll have a big hitter at 1 & someone who’s marketable. After that I think we’ll see a younger set up. Cooper from Lynn anyone?

The best team won no complaints. Given the lateness we were confirmed as starting to get in to the play offs is a result. I still believe Mayfield & Coleman are both good for Ipswich & uk speedway looking forward to 2027. Interesting comments by Coleman after heat 14 role on 2027

If you want to keep the sport at its current level guests & doubling up makes no difference because no one takes it too seriously. However if you want to grow the sport bring in investment more sponsorship then the doubling up & guest rulings do become a problem. Thats why Poland are restricting where riders can ride outsider of their league to limit the risk of those riders being injured thus damaging their product. I also recall earlier this year reading an article where at least one polish club owner wanted to get to a point where riders competed for one club in one country only.

Totally agree guests are not a necessary evil. Any professional team sport shouldn’t have the option to bring in guests from a rival team who’s performance could have a negative impact on their contracted club. Like wise doubling up needs cutting back & eventually scrapped.

Totally disagree with you. The day the British final was on ITV I was at a friends bbq. Speaking about the speedway being on tv that evening they were might give it a look but don’t the riders all ride for different teams how can you take it seriously?? I then pointed out that it was the best uk riders in an individual event to decide the British champion.

Great idea if very limited or no doubling up & a restriction on guests. Imagine the round up/ highlights where Chris Harris rides for Kings Lynn in the premiership then appears for Glasgow in the championship with a couple of guest appearances for Sheffield & Poole. Would very quickly show just how micky mouse the sport currently is.

It’s Kemps attitude that made Louis drop him from Ipswich when he was seen as the next wonder boy. Has the ability & bags of potential but sadly looks to be another who massively underachieves!!

That would be good. I’ve said for years we have to work with Poland & not against them. They have by far & away the most successful, professional league set up in the world.

The joint Wroclaw & Ipswich contracts could certainly be interesting. Hopefully Coleman gets the backing of the BSPL to bring in some changes next year too. If true that the British Final was watched by 134k on ITV then maybe all is not lost for the sport.

Let’s be honest here as an Ipswich fan. Ipswich got lucky to be in front at the interval on Thursday & Belle Vue pulled it back & deserved the win. In terms of Ipswich 2026 the late take over certainly put a spanner in the works in terms of team building. Ellis & Doyle were both spoken too but couldn’t hang on to confirm their 2026 arrangements & you can’t blame them. Danny, Tom & Jason Edwards were all able to hold on & Edwards was announced before Christmas. At one point I believe that Mayfield were hoping to be able to announce the take over & the team before Christmas. However there were issues around confirming their lease on the stadium which made it impossible to announce anything. The team was put together last minute & certainly after the top riders had already made their plans for 26. personally I went into this year happy to have a team & with no real expectations. The amount of criticism thrown at Mayfield in terms of the team & lack of changes is just laughable. This year was always about keeping the club going & putting plans in place for 27. They have done a lot of work off track in terms of attracting new sponsorship, the deal with Wroclaw, witches TV etc etc. All of that is far more important than the 26 team issues to ensure we have a club in the future. I have nothing but respect for what Coleman has done this year & I have no criticism to put his way. Now if we have a team along the same lines next year then we are then free to criticise & demand better. Finally I don’t blame Louis 1 jolt for getting out. If you’re heart isn’t in it anymore then there is no point in carrying on. 26 has been a come down after 3 years of the Emil & Jason show however it’s a year of taking stock & rebuilding for the future.

The level of doubling up over here causes so many problems. The championship product can only continue in its current guise with the same level of doubling up. The championship clubs couldn’t afford to run at their current level without the riders earning another income via the premiership. If the premiership fails then the standard of the championship drops overnight costs rise & that’s the beginning of the end. For the sport to survive like it or not it’s needs a successful premiership & a two tier set up. An 8 team premiership properly ran with very little or no doubling up is a must. The gap between the tiers also needs to be widened. A mixture of needing to curb doubling up & the polish rules will see a different set up next season.

Laguta needs to be as far away from Foxhall as possible. the attitude between him & Emil was like night & day.

Mayfield could do worse than try & bring Emil back. Failing that Musielak & Brennan from this year plus a return for Rew & 4 new Mayfield signings. Woryna seems to be the name in the frame so him plus one youngster with Wroclaw connections leaves 2 reserves to find. In the past I have given King some stick especially in 2024 however this year he has been fantastic. I do think his average will rule him out of Ipswichs plans next year.
