  1. I’m indifferent to be honest. When Louis put the club up for sale it was clear it was either sold or would not run in 2026. At the time I said to myself well that’s that at least we went out on a high. Since then nothing I’ve seen connected to speedway really gives me much enthusiasm for 26. In all honesty what updates are we expecting? He’d spoken to 2 possible buyers both were a non starter, the third maybe a sale between Christmas & New Year. Clearly that hasn’t happened any comment as to why would likely no increase the chance of a sale. After the years of Doyle & Emil, a team with no real number one in a league that is at the point of implosion I really can’t be bothered with it.

  3. It’s not looking good for news on the sale between Christmas & New Year.
  4. If they wanted to run a BSPL sponsored side surely running one at Ipswich would be in the best interests? At least it wouldn’t make a loss.
  5. We’d better get some decent rider development going then. Tracks first though
  6. I’ve only heard a rumour that was swirling around at football on Boxing Day when stood in the away end at Millwall. Not sure sure I believe it as it would be very left field
  7. It’s obvious that something went dramatically wrong between October & mid November. What that was I guess we will never know. However if that was enough that it makes Louis running Ipswich unprofitable then I don’t think we can blame him for wanting to get out.
  8. Maybe another local company is looking at it, involved in sponsorship of another local team but as yet not involved in speedway. Question is if it’s non speedway people looking at it how does that sit with the BSPL?
  9. One too many injuries for me, also new owners need to be trying to find up & coming talent for the future
  10. Depends how big the cheque book is of the new owners
  11. If Ipswich come to tapes I can’t think of what go rider they are going to get over.
  12. Still no news or even a whisper of where track 5 is let alone track 6. Just over 2 weeks until the age.

  14. No it’s comes down as a legal way to pay less tax on profit. Plenty of business people do this from small one man bands to big corporate multi nationals.
  15. In short if you own company A that is making a profit & company B your loss making speedway team you can transfer losses from the speedway team to your profit making company reducing the profit that company makes & also the amount of tax that you pay.
  16. If the rumours are correct that 2027 could see a cash injection of the back of work being done by speedway futures then that money needs using wisely. The best way would be to ensure as many tracks as possible are operating & that new riders are coming through. The sport needs to ensure the likes of Mildenhall & Eastbourne 2 venues with a history of speedway & tracks still in place need to be operational as league tracks. Then anything that can be done to get Coventry & Peterborough back. Two venues that are dormant same applies to Wolves. Then some good investment in bringing riders through. Speedway in this country is at the bottom it needs investment in infrastructure & assets to start rebuilding. Anything less & I give it 3-5 years before the final curtain falls.
  17. They all have other businesses outside of speedway so can afford to bank roll them. Also a loss making speedway club is quite good for tax reasons. If the Speedway is your only income & you risk bankruptcy because of a failed business model you’d look at things differently.
  18. Maybe that tells you that the people of Ipswich don’t feel let down, it’s the supporters of the other tracks that do.
