The level of doubling up over here causes so many problems. The championship product can only continue in its current guise with the same level of doubling up. The championship clubs couldn’t afford to run at their current level without the riders earning another income via the premiership. If the premiership fails then the standard of the championship drops overnight costs rise & that’s the beginning of the end. For the sport to survive like it or not it’s needs a successful premiership & a two tier set up. An 8 team premiership properly ran with very little or no doubling up is a must. The gap between the tiers also needs to be widened. A mixture of needing to curb doubling up & the polish rules will see a different set up next season.

Could very easily be the championship that needs that next year

Laguta needs to be as far away from Foxhall as possible. the attitude between him & Emil was like night & day.

Mayfield could do worse than try & bring Emil back. Failing that Musielak & Brennan from this year plus a return for Rew & 4 new Mayfield signings. Woryna seems to be the name in the frame so him plus one youngster with Wroclaw connections leaves 2 reserves to find. In the past I have given King some stick especially in 2024 however this year he has been fantastic. I do think his average will rule him out of Ipswichs plans next year.

Can’t see Brennan being anywhere other than Ipswich to be honest.

Ellis has been impressive in his last two Foxhall meetings but I can’t recall him being that consistent over two meetings before. It’s the best I think I’ve ever seen him ride. It’s clear he has a point to prove & will certainly have given Mayfield something to think about. They will also have seen how good Adam is to have around the team in terms of generating spirt. I think he has proven why he frustrates me so much to, clearly a very very good rider in there & one that could develop into a major force if he could find that level of consistency. Would I have him back at Foxhall in 27 100% yes! Mayfield will have so tough decisions to make over the winter in terms of who to leave out & bring in.

To be honest though part of the lack of interaction is down to demographic of the crowd. desperately need to get some young blood in to the sport!

The problem when there has been so little development of the sport outside of Poland in the last 30 years. For a long time Sweden Denmark & too a lesser extent the UK has relied on the excess of Polish riders floating about & riders who were happy to ride in 3 or 4 leagues. With the new polish regs next year the level of the championship is going be a lot lower so those 2 top teams might have no option but to move up. Speedway in the uk must be the only sport & possibly one of the only areas in life where people don’t aspire to be the best they can be & reach for the top. That speaks volumes for how it’s run & the lack of meaning that the competitions have.

I think the Ipswich promotion is spot on. You have to work with Poland. They have spent the last 35 years since the fall of communism building their league speedway. They are not going way.

I get he impression that Mayfield want to go their own way with team building & do something different in 27. Bringing Ellis back would probably go against that & with. Month of the season left no really worth it if they are going a completely different route. Makes sense for Northampton Ellis could b in their plans for next year

I think Mayfield will be well aware of what can be achieved with the right team. They will know about the packed Foxhall Heath last year for the play off final.

The Ipswich promotion certainly sees this, the question is can they take the rest in the same direction. I really believe that if Coleman can’t make the changes required then the sport is doomed this is very much last chance saloon.

Brennan has to ride at number one as he is still top of the Ipswich averages nothing to do with team management they are the rules.

Any way on to 27 1 2 Rew 3 Brennan 4 New pole using Wroclaw connection 5 Musilak 6 7 Will we see Rew back next year I think we might. Brennan is a no brainer after his struggles this season A young exciting rider using the Wroclaw connection seems to be feasible i would have Musilak back if the averages allow. As for the reserve berths no idea. I guess if Pedersen does well he could be the number 6 As for the number 1 do they go the Doyle route or possibly try & temp Emil back? Or will we see someone new? A lot depends on league structure & points limit but a refresh over the winter is required. Ive only left King out because I think he’ll be expensive on his average after cracking 2026.

Not sure I fully agree with you. Louis leaving if his heart wasn’t in it any more was 100% the correct decision. Due things beyond the control of Louis & Coleman the take over took a lot longer to be finalised than in should. My understanding was that everything was agreed between Louis & Coleman before Christmas. That it didn’t happen until March ment recruitment of riders was tough as most already had their calendars sorted. I’m confident for the short term of the club Coleman has kept onboard the existing sponsors that Louis had & has since added some new ones. The sponsors from the Louis era all seem happy & excited about the future enough to keep them onboard. Now where I do agree with you is that Coleman definitely wants to make change & drag the sport into the modern era. It appears that a 5 year timeline has been set for this to happen & it’s possible that at that point Coleman walks away if he can’t take the old guard with him. However if in 5 years he has been unable to make those changes & we still have the same issues as today there won’t be much left to walk away from. The first step of change I think has been laid with Wroclaw coming onboard they wouldn’t get involved unless there was the possibility of light at the end of the tunnel.
