  1. It could be argued that winning a gp series is harder than winning a one off meeting.
  2. Really! Probably outscore most of the Swindon team!
  3. Sounds like a typical first meeting some riders better than expected others no so good, mechanical gremlins that need ironing out overall a good night's entertainment. It isn't what happens on the first meeting that define your season.
  4. I agree his injuries have had a detrimental affect on his career but I doubt he could have reached anything like 7.50 .
  5. It states on the Wolves website they are thankful for the agreement of Matt Ford and his understanding in this matter.
  6. Yes definitely he is, not strange at all. Very experienced and has been a captain before.
  7. Bjarne got a paid 23 pointer at Lakeside not a full max as Ferjan won the race when Bjarne was on a tac ride from 15 metres but it wasn't his first meeting at Lakeside.
  8. Difficult to compare todays riders with Tony Rick, I remember going to Lakeside once, he had never raced there before, walks the track, ends up with a easy max, very few riders could have done that. I am sure Tony had tracks he didn't like as much as some others but he just saw them as another challenge to beat whereas I think Chris thinks of them as a challenge he can never beat.
  9. Also the rides where he scored 7 0r 8 he had 5 or 6 rides. He certainly has a mental block about Monmore but he is a good gater so no reason why he shouldn't score well there.
  10. Yes good performance even though he was a second string that night and also benefitted from some breakdowns and his score included a double tac ride.
  11. You get the feeling it wouldn't matter how many laps he has at Wolves, he hates the place and can't get that out of his head. He has had some ok meetings there like he has had at Lakeside which is another track he hates.
  12. Unfortunately our first meeting is at Wolves so I am not expecting much from him there.
  13. I agree but he will get a good reception at Poole especially after a couple of good meetings, he may not get a great reception elsewhere especially Kings Lynn but he deserves a chance to put the past behind him. He has been a terrific servant to Poole over the years and will do a great job for the team.
  14. Yes that sounds good, Matt Ford liked the bouncy track because it gave us home advantage, personally i prefer a smooth track so we get better racing
  15. Oh I see resorting to abuse now. We can tell your feeling better!!
  16. You start by saying Holder had a lot on his plate, then go on to say if you were ill what would you think about, all of your post is about Chris Holder so why is it so strange that I thought you meant Chris Holder was ill even with the extra apostrophe!
  17. In the context of the sentence it infers you were talking about Chris Holder being ill.
  18. Clearly you don't know what an example means. If you write Holder had been ill that isn't an example.
  19. You said he was ill, that is a statement not an example. So next time I don't like my conditions at work, I can down tools and my boss will understand that I have had a lot on my plate lately will he?
  20. When was he ill? I know he has gone through a lot, I was at Coventry the night of his crash and at Kings Lynn the night of his refusal to race. I just said in my opinion he isn't the rider he was.
  21. Well I think from the first post, this thread is about averages, Holder isn't the rider he was, we all know that if we are realistic but he performed so badly last year that he will improve his average but I have my doubts that it will be a massive improvement as some seem to think.
  22. I completely agree, obviously should be a steal on his current average but he lost a lot of respect that night and if Matt Ford had allowed it probably would now be at Somerset with his brother. He has been a fantastic rider for Poole and always liked him as a person but he will have to work hard to get the respect back, a rider of his quality should have, especially from non Poole fans.
