What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
alang replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If Mr Harkess says as quoted in that article that new regulations were brought in in April and November and unless you had gone through the small print you wouldn't know what was happening then as chairman of the BSPA surely he is showing negligence in his duties, alongwith other members of the BSPA,by not reading the small print.Whose responsibility is it, if not the people who are supposed to run the sport,to check all this out and then advise others of these decisions? You can't blame the authorities for changing the rules if you then can't be arsed to properly read them. -

Maybe the immigration authorities should also question how the Polish Speedway authorities can stop Polish riders racing in UK.The licence issue sounds like an excuse because surely there is supposed to be free movement of workers within the EU. -
maybe they've had enough of all the hassle and given up.maybe we are looking for a new promoter as well as a new sponsor and new team.maybe they started to read all 140 odd pages on this topic and lost the will to live.

On a similar theme,if there is supposed to be free movement of people and workers within the eu how on earth can the polish authorities stop polish riders being employed in the premier league.Maybe the Borders Agency needs to look at a bit more than just Aussie riders. This sport is just a legal joke and it needs a few test cases to sort out the whole bloody mess.

Next two signings Dave Hoggart as co-promoter/team manager and Simon Stead as number 1

Quite simple really.Well beaten by a team who had reliable machinery, rode as a team who wanted to win and could get out of the gate first in virtually every heat.Complete opposite to Berwick tonight.Funny how Berwick seemed to ride the track better during the football season when there was less time for those in charge to faff around with it.If it's like this for the Sky meeting it could be a little bit embarrassing.

Wethers and Branford would be better.

If Berwick had a fit, reliable number 1 we could carry out of form riders till they got confidence/form back. You can't put all the pressure on second strings and reserves to win meetings and make up for guests or R/R.It sounds harsh but the promotion need to get a realistic idea of how long Ricky is likely to be out and if necessary sign a temporary injury replacement number 1-who can gate. No,I've no idea who but somebody in the Elite league might want to make a few extra pounds doubling down or up or whatever. You can't go on hoping a rider might be back next week or the next.Until that gets sorted Heat 15 deciders are never going to go our way-nor is Heat 13. Don't know if is in the rules or not but if it is surely this Saturday we need to get a guest for David Bellego and R/R for Ricky. Is Micky Dyer busy?

Alex may not score a lot of points away from home but at home he can be more than capable of scoring well as he has done in the past(and also this year.If ,as other posts have said,he admitted to being scared on Saturday night then surely the question has to be why.His bike would be the same so it can't be that and he's also ridden ok since coming back from injury. If he was scared to ride the track on saturday night then that is a hell of a reflection on whoever prepared the track and maybe criticism should be directed there instead of at a decent reserve rider. -

In the past years we've always seemed to have at least one rider who could fire up the fans like Michal Makovsky,Lee Complin,Scud Smith,Rob Grant and dare I say it even Jade Mudgway in his first year.Thease guys were well worth going to see on their own.Kozza is the same kind of rider but is having to concentrate on getting back to form after injury (as are maybe too many in the team). There just doesn't seem to be the same atmosphere this year although I have no right to comment as not been there the last 2 Saturdays.I'm sure that most fans were very happy with the team at the start of the season but sometimes things don't work out for whatever reason. In an ideal situation we need a genuine back up for Ricky and a reliable reserve pairing but where from? Matt Tressarieu or however you spell his name has had some good meetings at Shielfield,Hynek looked ok while he was fit and if Pepe would stop playing away on Saturday nights maybe he could help. Finally with the track-surely it's a lot safer than it used to be but if it needs someone else to look at it how about asking Adrian Rymel.I thought he had some training in track prep,he knows the track and he certainly knew how to ride it. -

Is the problem not more that each race is now a race between four engine tuners instead of four riders.Get each track to own 14 bikes numbered 1 to 14.Referee draws rider's name from a hat (both home and away riders) and bike number from another hat.I know it could never work but it might be intersting to see what would happen. -
Referees- it says on the BSPA release.

Glasgow population-about a million + surrounding area Edinburgh-half a million + Newcastle-about the same Sheffield-about the same Berwick-about fifteen thousand plus-in one of the lowest wage areas in the country, on a percentage basis of crowd to population we're not doing badly.problem is where are the extra people to come from?If you think of it in this way I think present and past promoters have done amazingly well to keep it going for as long as they have

2013 - Changes / What Do You Like ?

Number 6 and Number 7 riders to be British (if enough available now).these riders have combined average of 7 calculated monthly-not rolling averages. These 2 race against numbers 6 and 7 from opposition team in heats 2,6,10,14 with results counting in match.might give young brits a chance and also mean possible closer races as No.1,5 not up against 6 and 7. -
If we run in the Premier league i think it might be along the lines of 1.Ricky Ashworth 2.Facundo Albin 3.Kozza Smith/Lee Complin 4.David Bellego 5.Seb Alden 6.Alex Edberg 7.Nikki Barrett Might not be what everyone wants but might be what we get. If it's National League Liam Carr,Jade Mudgway,Jade's wee brother,+4 others from somewhere. Might not be what everyone wants but might be what we get!! If we can't afford to run at all Crap Saturday night telly. Might not be what everyone wants but Mr Anderson is making a few realisic comments in the programme re crowds/finances. Suppose we'll find out in the fullness of time
