BERWICK v PLYMOUTH (Saturday, July 25th -- 7pm)
alang replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Would agree with that. This could be another "what might have been" been season. They have done really well to reach one final and one semi final and good at home so far but personally feel there has been no momentum build up due to various reason postponements and injuries etc. Would it be worth swapping Jye and Jordan to try and strengthen middle order. At the moment biggest issue is with VP as you say, for whatever reason. Far as I can see there is about 0.9 points to play with if any changes were to be made to help increase chances of winning something but don't suppose there is anyone available especially for a Saturday night track. On a more positive note some of the racing has been really good this year though and crowds look to have held up well considering all the blank days and postponements. -

Yip. No money left to pay the riders after paying out a fortune last night at Scunthorpe. Or maybe not that -

Might be wrong but I thought that as Howarth had been warned for moving in heat 4 then again in heat 9 two warnings mean disqualified from heat without option of 15 m so that would be why Hodder was in. -
Just out of interest would the Danish rider who was at Shielfield in second half after the Plymouth meeting (I think) come in on a 4 or 5 point average. Can't remember his name but I think it might have been said he was a team mate of Jonas or Peter in Denmark.

Bastian Borke and Max Perry but might be slightly too high

Was there not some kind of fall out between Drew and Stewart Dickson in the premiership play off final last year when the manager said the rider stopped trying and just packed in when he was fourth or am I just imagining that. Think some things were said at the time and that might have affected any chance of him riding for Stewart again. If he did sign, Simon Lambert, Max Perry and Dale Wood could fill other 3 places - or Gusts, Max Perry and a 2 pointer like Cooper Rushen (maybe)

Too busy announcing riders for their B team at Workington
-
If it is one league only how will that affect contracts already signed by some championship teams and riders if league makeup and points limit are different to what was initially agreed?
-
Maybe with all the problems with premier league running or not and maybe one league only there will be a problem with Stewart Dickson at both Leicester and Berwick. Even in speedway you couldn't have one team manager in charge of 2 teams in same league - or could you. Also if rumours were that Nick Morris might have been doubling up with Leicester and Berwick what happens there now. Add in Drew Kemp riding in Poland, rumours of financial issues from last season running 3 teams at Oxford if that affected Jamie Courtney as promoter and things could be iffy with Berwick team building. On the other hand everything could be fine but it is very unusual for there to be nothing on website for 6 weeks. Is it possible George Dodds has been ill? Sometimes silence is golden, sometimes silence is worrying

Too busy counting all the money they made last season from the free car park
-
Maybe we've signed Luke Harrison too and it's like a deal, buy one, get one free
-
By the time they get round to organising it they'll be calling it a pre season event
-
Applying to join Polish league seeing as we're a Saturday night track
-
If they are changing from speedway to road racing at least they won't have to bother with a planning application for change of use.

Great to see Sam riding so well in his last two races - after he'd spotted Cammi Brown sitting in the stand with a contract for next year. -

No bumps last night. Track was prepared smooth as it's been all season just to suit Mr. Courtney's Oxford team -

All the best to Craig on his return to action tomorrow night OR All the best to the 2 point rider who has to replace him when the long covid gets a wee bit longer -

Take it the BSPA will financially compensate the Berwick promotion and any Berwick or Workington fans who lost money as a result of the very short notice cancellation of the fixture. Thought not. -

Not sure how the system works but would he not need a medical certificate to be able to call off sick. How the hell he would find a doctor to sign one on a Saturday is a different story altogether mind -

All the 5 in the back row look pretty miserable but the 3 in front look fairly happy. Maybe the back row had to stand too long for the photo.
