  1. Think worky could make it tough if they have the desire to put up a fight. That said, if Stead and Hall ride like last week we'll be hard to beat, and if Joe can put his gremlins behind him it will make the job a lot easier.
  2. I thought last week I had noticed it and after this week I'm sure... atmosphere has returned to the terraces! Great result for the mighty Tigers, we have a trio of heat leaders that can go out and do the business, a second string (Facu) who entertains, a second string (Haines) who we know can get better and Jake is starting to look like a decent reserve and will only get better, we just need to get Koppe firing (talking of which I noticed after the meeting that Stead was working with him and giving him some pointers) and we'll be a team to be reckoned with.
  3. Not just Tigers fans, he had a lot of Scunny fans talking about him too. Fair to say that the boy is exciting to watch!
  4. Not what I said at all. I actually said honours even if you read my post. I was merely responding to the post saying scunny had bragging rights and trying to point out that in reality they were no better than us.
  5. We won by 10, you won by 12. Take away the additional 3 points you got from tactical rides (something we didn't need to resort to) and we would have won by 13. I would probably say honours even on this occasion. Could somebody please tell scunny riders that if they fall off they dont have to wait for the red light to come on before attempting to clear the track.
  6. I have cause to re-consider my prediction... think Scunny will pull a win out of the bag, but think that Sheffield's top 5 will be good enough to bring at least a point home
  7. Think the scoreline flatters Scunny on this occasion, would have been more had Hall not broken down in the lead and had Birks not turned in on/shut off in front of Stead in the final heat. Walloped by the wooden spoon contenders! Facu looked good, Haines appears to have got over his gating gremlins, Hall looked fast, Wells looked good when in front, Stead looked like a class above anybody else there. The jury is still out on Knight and Koppe, but they both showed some glimpses of potential and so happy to give them a few more weeks to get themselves sorted. On a different note, it was nice to see Joel Parsons on a back after the meeting having a spin.
  8. When you look at it like that, Steady hasn't had a bad career! Think Scunny by 10 in this leg
  9. Personally I wouldn't want to go back to a programme that I have to pay for, I want something to record the score on during the meeting and that I can bin at the end of it. Probably different if you collect them or have some sort of fetish for knowing which local businesses in your area can afford to advertise etc, but for everybody else it's just another expense on top of getting in, car parking etc
  10. Do Leicester supporters ever discuss / argue about anything other than the track shape?
  11. You know as well as everybody else on here that a 9 point + average is not easy to achieve, few riders achieve over 10 and I think Loram is the only rider i can think of to achieve over 11 (no doubt somebody will tell me that I'm wrong). For some reason you just choose to be negative about sheffield for the sheer hell of it - if its not because Santa didn't visit, what is your problem? Just because somebody is being positive and looking forward to the season, why do you have to piss on their parade?
  12. Did Santa not visit you as a child? Is that why you're so pessimistic and mardy?
  13. Sellafield? This is the Sheffield thread, not Workington.
  14. I can see a fair few points lost by team mates racing each other and inadvertently screwing each others race up and letting opponents through. The successful partnerships will be those that agree to take it in turns to come second I imagine
  15. I can only presume that you've never met a Sheffield supporter, of course not everybody is happy
  16. According to the Star further discussions took place over the weekend with Wells
  17. I think part of the problem with the track is that it got ruined during the floods in 2007(?) and has never been the same since.
  18. True, but just not like Sheffield to go for weekend press coverage when they will be up against football
  19. So.... end of the week and no announcement, do we presume that means Wells has not signed?
  20. Badly. All thing being equal ie no cheating or purposefully dropping points, they would comfortably beat any PL team
  21. Have we got names for the desparate duo? I suppose pepe could be an option.... a decent 2nd / 3rd heat leader.
  22. Odsal boy, do you always have to spout such bobbins?
