Sheffield v Birmingham 03/07/25
Cue Ball replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No idea what the family emergency was, but if it was your child being taken to hospital, that is a very different scenario to having a cold. Without the facts, think we have to accept that it is what it is. Also, what’s the comments about people not being paid? Not something that has ever been a concern at Sheffield as far as I’m aware -

Nice to see Tobi on form, best he has ridden Owlerton since he left. Didn’t feel like the result was ever in doubt, but with Jack missing it wasn’t the comfortable win that most were predicting. Perhaps led to some better racing as a consequence of Jack not being there as it equalised the team somewhat -

8 paid 9 for Cairns at Poole tonight -
Wait for it… The end is nigh. We’re doomed. Sack everybody and replace them with somebody else who I won’t name because I can’t think of anybody is any better, but that’s not the point… Fair play to Leicester, deserved winners on the night and could have been a bigger margin if not for mechanical gremlins. We just started off too slowly and never really looked like winning. When was the last time we were 12 points down at home? And thank you to BSN for wishing my dad a happy birthday at the end 👍

Sheffield v King's Lynn 19/6/25
Cue Ball replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Never in doubt…. Save for that bit where we were losing by 4 with 3 to go… Hats off to both Chris Holder and Klindt who both team rode masterfully to shepherd junior colleagues round. Don’t often see team riding like that anymore -

The more I see of Brennan, the less I like him. His move at the start of heat 9 was just plain dangerous -

What rumours? -
Where to start… I don’t need to justify my likes/dislikes to you and don’t really care what you think- I doubt that I know you and so your Views are fairly meaningless to me. But given you asked the question, yes I do follow speedway and am interested in it…. But that doesn’t mean to say that I want to watch 3 meetings in a day. I don’t tend to watch the NDL, but by the same token, I don’t tend to watch the GPs either - I support Sheffield and have done for the majority of my life (Leicester supporter until they closed in the 80’s, Long Eaton as a brief sabbatical when Sheffield closed). If you actually read my comment correctly, my main issue aside from being forced to watch, was that I thought 3 meetings in a day was too much and I stand by that. My kids have normally had enough after 1 meeting.
-
I do dislike having to pay to watch the juniors race, when I don’t particularly want to. 2 meetings in a day is enough for me, the 3rd is a stretch too far in afraid. Hopefully should be a decent meeting with having 2 capable teams racing

Does the Premiership need a salary cap?
Cue Ball replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The last cap (other than points) that was introductory card to British speedway was the one GP rider per team… that worked well and arguable started the downward spiral of speedway in the country -
I vaguely seem to remember that there is something in the deeds or something that says there has to be a speedway track at the stadium - with it having been built for the purpose. Just remember something about when we closed in the 90’s that they couldn’t do anything to get rid of the track. Could well be wrong though

I don’t think we have any choice but to replace, there is only a 28 day facility in place and Tai isn’t going to be fit for some time unfortunately 😕

Very impressive debuts for Anders and Leon -
Best wishes to Tai and his family. Fingers crossed for a full recovery. It’s even made the BBC news. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1lm458zgp9o

I was wondering the same thing, didn’t know whether I had just missed him as didn’t go down for that long

One of my concerns with the team is which Picko turns up - the one from the last month of the season who was absolutely on fire, or the one from the first few months of the season who seemed to be struggling

Oops!!! Sorry bout that… read it somewhere else and got carried away, forgot that they have their fingers in every pie 😳
