Just seen that and came back on to amend! My bad. Presumed it would be Thursday with it saying story will be in the Speedway Star.... And Sheffield announcements are nearly always made on a Thursday
Actually... ignore my previous post. Just looked at it again and it was a joke post by Steady. I'll get my coat and hang my head in shame. In my defence, I'm very tired!
I see that Koppe is holding is own in the Scunthorpe winter series - competed in 2 out of 3 rounds so far, second in the first and then won last weekend. Not the strongest line up I concede, but most are riders that know their way round the EWR
Out of those, I think you can discount Maasen for coming back this year. It's unfortunate that he didn't achieve an actual average as somebody might have found him attractive on a 3, but think that it would be a tall order for him to live up to his assessed average of 5
Sod that for a game of tennis! Much prefer the race card to paying 1 or 2 quid for a flimsy programme full of adverts that I'm really not that interested in
I lied it seems! Confirmation that a consortium has taken over the club is on the Sheffield website, not much more than that though - apart from confirming that fans are hoped/expected to help raise funds for an airfence. Oh, and a hint that we may go Elite in the future
Always find it curious that a club can sign a contract with somebody and then change their minds without any repercussions, but if a rider refuses to ride because he hasn't been paid for a few months he gets a ban.
