  1. Where / when was the criticism of the post, I must have missed it. Didn't agree with all of it, but nothing offensive. Well done Leicester, a deserved win. Thanks to Ollie Allen, a great guest that undoubtedly put it all on the line in his 5 races. Guests sometimes don't give 100%, but not the case tonight. Hall's team riding in heat 14 was probably a highlight, but even that went ** up on the run to the line. Hope Bjerre is ok after his nasty looking tumble.
  2. Correct. Sheffield promotion have already said that the earliest they could possibly make a change is mid June - think somebody else calculated it to be the 20th to be more exact (rain offs aside). Could be an interesting meeting - if its gate and go racing then Leicester will be in the driving seat, if the track is raceable Sheffield should edge a win.
  3. Doesn't Ashley Morris ride for Dudley? If so I would expect him to prevent any home side maximums.
  4. He finished 2010 season on 5.97, I would guess that after reductions it would be around 5.5
  5. On the replay it showed that Garrity couldn't get his front wheel on the ground in order to make the corner, Koppe tried to turn and was left with nowhere to go. Definitely not Koppe's fault, just an unfortunate racing incident
  6. Interesting to see how he gets on. Doubt that he would want to do a full season unfortunately.
  7. Klindt could be a concern for you - whilst he should blow away the opposition at this level, he hasn't been what you would call consistent of late. With 3 riders seeing the place for the first time you shouldn't, in theory, have any problems... but as we're away from home you can expect Wells to bang in double figures, with Allen and Hall capable of copying him we make at least make you sit up and think. Albin and Haines should like a track similar to Sheffield, but neither have done overly well over the last couple of meetings. Koppe has shown glimpses of the kind of speed needed to do well at the OTA, but tends to have come to grief whilst showing them. If Knight can pop out of the gate in front he should be able to cause some problems for those behind. Overall I think the rebels will end up with all of the points, but hopefully we can show some of the early season form that enabled us to take points from both Scunny and Leicester away from home
  8. Fairly sure that the Aussie visa problems originate at their end of things, not the British end
  9. I thought Tai signed for Wolves and was then loaned to Rye?
  10. At least from the way this reads it looks like Sheffield, or more specifically Hoggy, can be absolved from any blame of 3 rider races - the SCB, to my understanding, is separate from the BSPA managment committee. It actually reads that it was the Aussie team manager who was at fault for giving dodgy advice. I would guess that the alternative to the 3 rider races would have been for Nelson to ignore the ban, to have ridden and then had his results expunged from the records at a later date, probably meaning that Sheffield would have had a much closer result. Knowingly or unknowingly, Nelson broke the rules and was penalised as a consequence - in the grand scheme of things it probably won't matter as you'll come to Sheffield fired up and we'll be facing another Redcar scenario (especially given that Hall and Stead are both on the injured list).
  11. Charlieboy - we had no choice but to go for R/R, can only have a guest for your no. 1 (unless we signed a replacement and redeclared the team)
  12. Not sure Hall would have made a difference on this occasion. Skidders may have got a few more save for taking a trip on to the dog track in his 4th ride
  13. Hats off to Redcar. We were rubbishe (Stead and Haines aside) and they deserved the win. Sweet Jesus but Dyer is good!!
  14. Was a separate thread on Leicester fans moaning really necessary? Every match report thread says exactly the same things. "The track is crap, we've waited 28 years for speedway to return, we hate Helmsley, Helmsley doesn't listen, you're not a Leicester supporter so you can't comment etc etc etc". Simple answer, if you dislike it that much, don't go. As far as I know there is no law that says you have to. You could always do what myself and my family did 30 odd years ago and started going elsewhere for your weekly fix. I agree that it's a crying shame that the track isn't a Sheffield or Scunthorpe or Somerset or king's Lynn, but it isn't, I'm not saying you should put up with it, but crappy threads on here won't make a difference, voting with your feet probably will though.
  15. When was the last time you heard a manager / promoter, when asked by a rival promotion, come out and say "we don't have a cat in hells chance when we come to your place next week"??? Of course Hoggy said that we would give you a run for your money!! What else would you expect him to have said in all seriousness?
  16. Over after Heat 1 and the loss of Steady by the looks of it. Hope he's ok. 10 points from Stead would have made things a lot more respectable
  17. Cursing and swearing for 13 heats, hoping for 1.5 heats and cheering for 0.5 heats! It was an emotional roller coaster!
  18. Howarth was probably in heat 15 because he was the best rider on show for you tonight. A meeting of 2 halves, a gating master class by Workington for the first half on a wet track, and a master class in racing by Sheffield in the second half. The overtaking moves by Stead in heat 13 and Hall in 15 were 2 of the best I've seen in a long time. Knight is proving his worth, Haines seemed to turn things round after 2 poor rides, Wells got unlucky in heat 13, Facu was Facu, the boy is a joy to watch, Koppe needs to do something as he's just not at the races yet.
  19. Think worky could make it tough if they have the desire to put up a fight. That said, if Stead and Hall ride like last week we'll be hard to beat, and if Joe can put his gremlins behind him it will make the job a lot easier.
  20. I thought last week I had noticed it and after this week I'm sure... atmosphere has returned to the terraces! Great result for the mighty Tigers, we have a trio of heat leaders that can go out and do the business, a second string (Facu) who entertains, a second string (Haines) who we know can get better and Jake is starting to look like a decent reserve and will only get better, we just need to get Koppe firing (talking of which I noticed after the meeting that Stead was working with him and giving him some pointers) and we'll be a team to be reckoned with.
  21. Not just Tigers fans, he had a lot of Scunny fans talking about him too. Fair to say that the boy is exciting to watch!
  22. Not what I said at all. I actually said honours even if you read my post. I was merely responding to the post saying scunny had bragging rights and trying to point out that in reality they were no better than us.
  23. We won by 10, you won by 12. Take away the additional 3 points you got from tactical rides (something we didn't need to resort to) and we would have won by 13. I would probably say honours even on this occasion. Could somebody please tell scunny riders that if they fall off they dont have to wait for the red light to come on before attempting to clear the track.
  24. I have cause to re-consider my prediction... think Scunny will pull a win out of the bag, but think that Sheffield's top 5 will be good enough to bring at least a point home
