I’m in Sheffield city centre. Bit of light drizzle and showers this morning. Massive thunderstorm at 1pm until about 2 and forecast is for it to continue to brighten up / diminishing chance of rain for the rest of the day (according to the BBC)

What a race that was!!!

14 riders who ride for multiple clubs in multiple countries, plus managers, plus mechanics, plus stadium availability- would suggest that would be more than a 2 minute chat unfortunately

Every track in the country has been in this position - everything good to go and then the rain hits. The track staff worked their arses off for about 1.5 hours trying to get it raceable. Some riders were happy, some weren’t. It wasn’t a case of getting the people in and then calling it off, you could see that they were genuinely trying to get it on, but if the riders won’t play ball, what can the promotion do about it? its crap, but as said, there isn’t a track in the country where this hasn’t happened, it’s an unfortunate part of our sport.

A decent night’s racing with Jack looking pretty imperious and a fairly comfortable win despite both Chris and Picko not being quite as on it as usual. Cracking ride by Morris to second on the line. If I was going to whinge… what was with the booing of Howarth when he won his final ride?? Only a few people, but seriously? Brilliant servant of the club for years, he deserves better than that.

What was the verdict on Morris? Decent score, but think he was gifted some of those points?

I can’t disagree that the second half was fairly dismal last night - but don’t think the capitulation of Oxford helped matters or showcased Sheffield at its best. How have TNT managed to air the worst matches of the season on a consistent basis this season??!!

No idea what the family emergency was, but if it was your child being taken to hospital, that is a very different scenario to having a cold. Without the facts, think we have to accept that it is what it is. Also, what’s the comments about people not being paid? Not something that has ever been a concern at Sheffield as far as I’m aware

Nice to see Tobi on form, best he has ridden Owlerton since he left. Didn’t feel like the result was ever in doubt, but with Jack missing it wasn’t the comfortable win that most were predicting. Perhaps led to some better racing as a consequence of Jack not being there as it equalised the team somewhat

Sheffield have a very good rising star, he’s just out of action for a couple of weeks

Wait for it… The end is nigh. We’re doomed. Sack everybody and replace them with somebody else who I won’t name because I can’t think of anybody is any better, but that’s not the point… Fair play to Leicester, deserved winners on the night and could have been a bigger margin if not for mechanical gremlins. We just started off too slowly and never really looked like winning. When was the last time we were 12 points down at home? And thank you to BSN for wishing my dad a happy birthday at the end 👍

Never in doubt…. Save for that bit where we were losing by 4 with 3 to go… Hats off to both Chris Holder and Klindt who both team rode masterfully to shepherd junior colleagues round. Don’t often see team riding like that anymore

Where to start… I don’t need to justify my likes/dislikes to you and don’t really care what you think- I doubt that I know you and so your Views are fairly meaningless to me. But given you asked the question, yes I do follow speedway and am interested in it…. But that doesn’t mean to say that I want to watch 3 meetings in a day. I don’t tend to watch the NDL, but by the same token, I don’t tend to watch the GPs either - I support Sheffield and have done for the majority of my life (Leicester supporter until they closed in the 80’s, Long Eaton as a brief sabbatical when Sheffield closed). If you actually read my comment correctly, my main issue aside from being forced to watch, was that I thought 3 meetings in a day was too much and I stand by that. My kids have normally had enough after 1 meeting.

I do dislike having to pay to watch the juniors race, when I don’t particularly want to. 2 meetings in a day is enough for me, the 3rd is a stretch too far in afraid. Hopefully should be a decent meeting with having 2 capable teams racing

The last cap (other than points) that was introductory card to British speedway was the one GP rider per team… that worked well and arguable started the downward spiral of speedway in the country
