  1. 5 posts made and you have already sussed that. Good going for a 'new' poster.
  2. Is anyone really saying Cook is as good as KK?That said of course they are comparable as both ride in the EL as heat leaders. The problem with KK is that he all to often rides at 70% so anyone that gives 100% is their equal when you look over a season long average. One on one KK is likely to win everytime but then, as you keep pointing out he is a former world number 2 so should be head and shoulders over a rider like Cook. However he isn't. Cook finished the year with a 7.37 whilst KK was 7.91. Head and shoulders above?? Above yes. Head and shoulders no. Just over half a point better isn't head and shoulders. KK has had one season at world class level when he finished number 2 in the world. Very much a one off as has never looked close to that in any other year. For me despite all the arguments and discussions about KK its what they both do at our top flight level that's the only thing that's it's important. And given their averages are just over half a point in separation in the most recent season we have had they are very much comparable. KK SHOULD be head and shoulders above a lot of riders but he isn't. KK is likely to be the higher averaged rider every season but you never know what you are going to get with him. At his spiritual home he should have a superb season. That said given the choice I'd have Cook 100 times out of 100 over the 2.
  3. Haven't read SCB's piece on it but I'm sure there is a better and more accurate way of combining both. The BSPA have at least used the next fairest and transparent way which I applaud. As with every year there will be riders on averages that make them unattractive averages. Sadly Richie is one of them.
  4. They would be using his PL average not his EL as his EL is irrelevant. He had a great PL season so that is as fair an average as there is to use.
  5. And Leicester's entrance price against Man U last week? And there UEFA entry prices? That was a great incentive to get people to pay for entry no doubt. But similar to cheap or free entry to Speedway SKY matches that some clubs have done in the past. Football promotions are much more in tune with the needs of its supporters that's clear.
  6. Corrected before? What are you on about as per usual. You have the quote to prove? ? Of course only the top few leagues throughout the country charge way more than speedway and as they are the most popular leagues isn't that the obvious comparison. You could take all leagues and do an attendance V cost analysis to come up with an average to suit that argument. That isn't the point im making. The bigger leagues in England and Scotland get the bigger attendances at much greater costs than speedway because people are happy to pay way more for that product. at wolves most weeks they have 6 extra races after the main match either MDL or regular junior open so that's 21 heats not 15.
  7. True, we all get that football is the bench mark to judge virtually all others sports for cost and attendance. We know the product, in its purest form is up there with the most exciting sports around. No question. The rules and regulations are the things that make it circus like that I agree. I personally think it adds to the excitement but the rules and the (lack) of available riders makes putting together teams and leagues extremely difficult. We simply could not run 3 leagues with each rider in one league only. The lack of talent coming thru and lack of foreign riders riding here anymore makes this virtually impossible to avoid. So I understand why we have double ups and downs. Hard to explain to any none speedway fan I agree.
  8. Are the questions different to the Belle Vue ones?
  9. I'm amazed at the comment that none speedway people are flabbergasted at the price to attend. Yet I assume they are more than happy to pay nearly double to watch football!!!
  10. agree, he should be. exactly. Danny isn't the weakest at all. Eric is progressing slowly and nicely. Was hoping he would be at Wolves personally. He looked mightily impressive at Monmore at last year's press and practice.
  11. Likely to be Auty who should do better than last season. Wouldn't call him a strong reserve tho as he wasn't last season.
  12. Reading more into it as per usual. We get it, you rate Auty over Howarth , like you think Wolves have a poor side this year. You say it so often enough we all get the picture. That's the epitome of a persistent annoyance. Auty is number one in name only due to 6 others riders having a lower average than him in team's that have struggled at the base of the table in very recent seasons. Edited to add - surprised no Kylmakorpi or Sedgmen however a decent looking side with bags of potential. Lebedevs is an interesting one, if he can start to master British tracks he could play a big part in how successful the Lions are. Looking good!
  13. Hans Nielsen Bruce Penhall Ray Wilson John Boulger
  14. So no chance of Coventry being in till late May at earliest.
  15. But Auty is better so will easily top both averages, right?
  16. His PL average hasn't gone backwards tho unlike Auty. If Howarth has gone backwards then Auty has virtually disappeared.
  17. No I'm referring in part to the ridiculous British semi final farce. If you want your British and world champion to take part ensure you either A:make it easier for him to make the semi date or B:seed him to the final. It's not difficult. Either way I'm not getting into another discussion with you about our best British rider to give you more chance to continue your 'I hate Woffy' campaign. As it's a Coventry thread let's not get into any further debates as it's wasted air.
  18. On the flip side Woffinden received no support from the BSPA either. If one is wrong then both are. Anyway, not wishing to open this can of worms again as the usual suspects will use it as yet another excuse to bash Woffy so let's leave it there.
  19. If it suits his schedule he will. Ditto any of the big names who come here when it suits them for their own reasons.
  20. I never mind YOU using information because you are a decent genuine person. However I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't mention it given how others have tried to use (false) information about me. Nothing personal you understand.
  21. And you too Sidney. I work at Birmingham so it's less of a follow. I'm more of a Development league and amateur racing fan besides dabbling in a bit of amateur stuff as well. Do you really think I'm a fan of Cradley from those comments. Not sure what comments made elsewhere are relevant to this conversation tho. Interesting you use your stats to tell another story too.I'd say pressure is more on a team and rider doing much better than one struggling. So again those stats only tell one side as well. Facts tell us what the averages both start 2017 on. Howarth ahead in both leagues.
  22. I'd agree regards Howarth until I looked at the stats. He had a decent year in the PL and was either superb or disappointing in equal measures for Wolves. If Auty was injured then he should have no problems improving again this season so time will tell. I'd rather Howarth than Auty in the top flight personally. Hopefully both will have good years!
