  1. Bomber rides in Poland and Denmark doesn't he?
  2. Rain could save the day. Wolves woefully weakened.
  3. They must have changed the rules since Joe (cheating) Screen was allowed to use Wolves to get his average low enough to drop into the PL in the same season.
  4. I'd be happy to. Provide me a league with top stars and I'd pay £20 easy and even £25 isn't too steep when you compare PL at 16/17 pounds they are the league that is grossly exaggerated. Plus also compare those costs against Football top flight racing is worth £20+ with the top boys here. You could argue that to stop the top PL boys riding in the EL PL supporters should put the money up to pay their wages also.
  5. Even the top boys aren't producing consistent double figure scores and that's due to the race format hence why we are getting grossly twisted averages. Time to scrap the format return to the previous one (current PL/NL one) and let riders get true averages like before. Even tho the rolling averages have helped cut out riders getting fake averages due to poor form it still gives no true reflection of form or true ability.
  6. Fair point and it's good to look on the bright side. The EL whilst the weakest it's probably ever been is still a strong league in comparison to the PL. Despite many over the recent seasons saying that the leagues are getting closer , and they have to an extent, EL teams remain much stronger as they should be - evidenced by inter league challenge matches when the EL side has usually won pretty comfortably. I agree it's unlikely we will see the top boys back but then I think not enough is being done to assist this becoming a possibility. Time will tell which way things will go however a league that takes out the big boys is of no interest to me personally.
  7. Harris and Jonsson ride in the GP's, Buczkowski has ridden for Poland in the World Cup. So they certainly DO come under that bracket.
  8. Kasprzak, Zagar, Harris, Jonsson, Nilsson, Iversen, Batchelor, Doyle, Holder, Buczkowski, Andersen, Lindgren. what is your point? If the point is not as many as 5 years ago then thanks for naming the obvious.
  9. He still only scored 4 points although I grant you he was worth more for effort.
  10. I prefer SCB's Reply! You can go off people you know!
  11. I respect your opinion, however I disagree with the last sentence.
  12. Fair point, then the first sentence is valid then.
  13. Looking forward to watching that great young British rider Kacper Woryna in reserve for Coventry in their next meeting. The Bees really look after the next generation of Brits.
  14. AFAIC the BSPA should bend over backwards to get as many top riders here as is possible because if the Polish model and Swedish model (reduced programme , same day racing) works then that's what we should do. There IS a way of making it work plus ensuring tracks that want and need more meetings have another meaningful competition on top of that. Any sport without a top level of participation is a farce so whilst any further weakening is a short term cut not having a top flight is not the answer either IMHO.
  15. The issue with a lot of the NL riders is that they are thrown into the PL and a lot have failed. That's why the PL should have adopted a tier system long before the EL did to aid the progression. With my EL hat off you have a well thought out idea however it's one I wouldn't be interested in following without the big names.
  16. Less maybe, so that makes it slightly less corrupt. Nevertheless still corrupt.
  17. You are claiming you are proposing a better product? I have been watching great close racing at ALL levels year this and particularly in the EL. So there is nothing wrong with the product. How it is packaged is a very different thing however. I see close racing and a good product already. Take out the top tier and I and plenty others would disappear from watching any regular speedway overnight. Sorry to interject your positive proposal however you're quoted post above is a very bold and subjective comment with little merit.
  18. There isn't enough riders for one big league so it's a no go anyway no matter how you address it.
  19. Speedway is full of politics for ALL leagues. It's crazy if anyone really believes it's only the EL that is poorly run and full of self interest. It's always the EL that gets the bad press but some must be blinkered to truly believe that the PL and NL are problem free. They aren't.
  20. That was my thinking , no doubt the BSPA will twist the ruling to suit as per usual. But my reading was that he was signed at number 8 for cover any absent 1-5 member or ride in the main body himself.
  21. And nothing premier about the PL! Without riders doubling up/down both leagues would struggle. You could argue that without the good EL standard riders in the PL it wouldn't be the standard that it is. By name/definition/quality the EL is the appropriately named league.
  22. All levels are messed up IMHO. If only all levels would work together there could actually be a much brighter future for all levels. EL relies on the PL, the PL relies on the EL and NL and both leagues need the NL for the future generation. The PL promoters are even more stubborn than the EL ones so they alone have created this mess and nothing will change if the line is "it's our way or no way". By the same token you can't destroy the EL because it's not working. There can be no credibility without a top tier of racing. No doubt PL supporters wouldn't or couldn't care less and sadly that compounds the issue even further as im sure their promoters feel the same. Swindon will continue Whilst the Leicester and Coventry situation I agree is a worrying one. There is a lot of speculation about what may happen with Leicester but in truth no one knows what might happen. There always seems to be a black cloud and doom impending regards the EL if you listen to some. However on the plus side there has been some superb racing reported in the EL this year and the league appears more open due to the oddities of the rules and averages. Having watched EL, PL, NL, Development league, amateur this season I can say there is still great things happening in Speedway. I will always pick EL over all other leagues as my preferred league because I prefer watching the better standard of rider. However it's only the EL that drives my enthusiasm and passion. Without it (EL)I'd become another regular supporter lost along with many others. It's those in charge that seem to make it stink at times.
  23. Not sure Huckenbeck can be at reserve as isn't he still a number 9 who can only replace a 1-5 rider?
