  1. Antonio Lindbäck's 5 heats from yesterday's meeting between Masarna and Örnarna. Some really good stuff. https://www.facebook.com/masarna/posts/10153498271532770
  2. So was Gollob and Adams but Gollob only have one and Adams zero titles despite being in the top for so many years. Talent and skill is not always enough, professionalism and dedication are needed two. Ward have former two but does he have the latter two?
  3. There is also a few Polish rider who might find their way into the GP-series, which can be a tough challenge for anyone.
  4. To some extent maybe but not as much or perhaps not as unconditional as you think. I most teams will have to work very hard to get their sponsors and Vetlanda is probably the only that don't have to worry about the economy. A few amount of teams (Dackarna / Målilla MK and possibly one or two more) owns their own track, the rest of the teams rent their track. Some teams pays more then others and I think that for Allsvenskan and Elitserien, Smederna and Vargarna pays the most rent (or lease in Vargarna's case). There are advantages and disadvantages with both forms. Smederna have always rented their track and it has been both god and bad. The bad part was when Smederna dropped out of Elitserien in 2009 due to financial problems and started over from Division 1, then one of the other clubs there expanded their small go-cart track to a larger drifting track which have been expanded further at the cost of the size of the parking lot. Which really hurt Smederna for several seasons since as soon as there was more then 2000 spectators, the parking wasn't big enough to handle all the cars. I am very unhappy with how Joacim Heggblad and his companions were allowed to expand over the parking lot. A new parking area and a smaller refurbishment of the track was made to the last seasons thanks to the city (owner) and a sponsor. It's ok for now but improvements/expansions are needed for them to handle more then 3500 spectators. The parking lot used to be over the entire area that is now covered by the darker tarmac track. https://www.google.se/maps/place/Gr%C3%B6ndals+Motorsportomr%C3%A5de,+Eskilstuna+N/@59.4161069,16.3735138,582m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x465e8c2b12e849dd:0x1f95a70b850aec2b The drifting track/arena have since been expanded further forcing the city to build a new road around the southern end of the track. This aerial photo is a couple of years old since the construction of the mini racing track hadn't even started yet and it was finished this spring.
  5. Apparently Belusov is likely to replace him.
  6. Topsoil, most tracks are dedicated speedway tracks and only Gubbängen have another primary use then speedway. Training tracks? I assume you mean the smaller tracks located next to or inside the regular track ? They're not training tracks but 80cc tracks for speedway schools for kids and for youth speedway (85c, micro speedway and mini speedway ).
  7. I don't think this is about dangerous riding, surely they would have criticised more riders then just Nicki then.
  8. I think you are wrong, it isn't "the riders", it's just Greg, Holder, Tai and Darcy. Two aussies, a brit and a Yankee. Riders who happens to have the same sponsor, the same sponsor that also is the main sponsors for the SGP ans SWC series.
  9. Sure the attendance have declined this season but the weather have been bad this season.. Rain have been affecting a vast majority of the rounds which usually scares a good few away. In Elitserien Lejonen are by far worst team but when you look at what team they field it's hardly surprising. 7 teams are too few and 10 would ideal but the disadvantage is that the riders can demand a higher pay level due to more competition between the teams for the riders. Then 18 rounds is also tight to fit in during the available months. Especially if you have in mind that you need to be able to find available new days to hold a meeting if it rains off. Smederna's price info http://ikarossmederna.se/matchpress/entrepriser/
  10. As already mentioned it is Gnistorna in Malmö: http://www.gnistorna.se/ However they will have their final home meeting next week. For the rest of the Swedish team Vetlanda and Målilla are next in line but they are both over 250km away. Also see this google earth file: http://www.mediafire.com/?zoxknxrk3eaq1nk it hasn't been updated in a few years but no 500cc team have folded or moved or restarted since then.
  11. For the actual ruling, the committee took into account that Greg was provoked by Nicki's manoeuvre and that Nicki was excluded and warned for the incident. They also took into account that a longer suspension would hurt a professional rider like him economically. Imo ruling is ok but. A rider should not have to file a complaint for Svemo to deal with this case which is the case here. The case was not dealt with until Nicki filed a formal charge against Greg which I think happened two or three weeks ago.
  12. 1. I don't think that they can issue a ban that goes for a certain amount of meetings only for a certain amount of time. 2. Stefan Andersson, team manager for Piraterna, can choose any rider he wants from his squad. It will likely be Adrian Miedzinski. So I wonder if Greg realizes the irony that in "his attempt to get rid of dangerous riding" his actions will likely result in that one of the worst, if not the worst (the latter according to Peter Ljung in a Swedish speedway poddcast) will take Greg's place in the lineup. The official ruling(press release can be read at the link below and IMO it's always better to use the original source/ruling then to use one of the involved parties' own biased version. http://www.mynewsdesk.com/se/svemo/pressreleases/avstaengning-foer-hancock-1201897?utm_medium=email&utm_source=sendgrid http://www.svemo.se/ImageVaultFiles/id_9959/cf_44/Diarienr_2015_03_Beslut.PDF Svemo base the ruling on the rules set by the National Swedish sports Confederation (Riksidrottsförbundet) which is the highest governing sports Confederation in Sweden. Their rules overrides any rules found in the special sports associations. Dunno what's happened with Greg, he seems to be obsessed by Nicki? Like it is something different behind it then Nicki's riding style.
  13. Yes I posted it here just a few minutes after it was announced. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=67537&p=2662674
  14. Spiegal, then Jim have done wrong. As a referee, you cannot choose when you want to follow the rules. A referee cannot refrain from excluding a rider who is at fault just because he/she thinks that the meeting would benefit from not excluding a certain rider. A referee cannot and shall not exclude a less exciting rider and refrain from excluding a more exciting rider for the same kind of incident. Any referee that does that should immediately hand in his or hers referee licence.
  15. Greg Hancock have been handed a 10 day suspension for his assault on Nicki. http://www.mynewsdesk.com/se/svemo/pressreleases/avstaengning-foer-hancock-1201897?utm_medium=email&utm_source=sendgrid http://www.svemo.se/ImageVaultFiles/id_9959/cf_44/Diarienr_2015_03_Beslut.PDF
  16. Darcy Ward have signed for Esbjerg https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=446311738874920
  17. Bysarna's track is almost ready. It's only approved for practice yet since some things like star lights and etc still have to be installed. http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=94&artikel=6223980
  18. To be honest, IMO if Lindbäck is the sole Swedish rider qualifying, there is no need to give a wild card to another Swedish rider but I do think it will happen despite that there isn't anyone who deserves it. If Lindbäck does not qualify he will get one wild card and then it's less likely that they give a second Swede a wild card.
  19. Doyle only got excluded for taking Peter K out, the other exclusion was for riding inside the white line. I can agree with that Nicki need to be better at accepting others being hard on him and etc but this doesn't change the impression that he is judged differently. It also does not change the fact that someone like Greg who are very eager to find an excuse to criticize Nicki, never seem to be bothered when other riders then Nicki is riding too hard.
  20. National Stadium or not I just think it's great that a new speedway stadium is being built.
