  1. Krzysztof Buczkowski will replace Sebastian Aldén in Rospiggarna until Aldén has recovered from his broken arm.
  2. i think i read that he would be absent for at least two months. IMO neither Freddie Lindgren or Chris Harris should be awarded a WC if they misses out on top 8 and the same goes for Harris Both have had many chances to qualify for top 8 but have failed each time so if they're not top 8 or in via qualies they shouldn't be in for 2011. They cant rely of a WC year after year like Nicholls did.
  3. Jacek Basinski, one of Billy Hamills former Polish mechanics who now resides in Eskilstuna. He acquired a Swedish license last season and starting to ride for Ikaros Smederna (Team Bikab) last season.
  4. Jacob Thorsell rides for Elit Vetlanda. Interview (in swedish) here
  5. I think it good to see that there are other riders then "The old usual" that are at the top of the leaderboard and more important the last couple of years the title was almost decided already by this time of the season. I think now that Jarek got his first victory, i think he can ride a bit more "relaxed" in the later stages of the GPs since the mental pressure on him to win his first gp is gone. Anyway i hope that someone of the current top 3 will take the title.
  6. There has been another rule change in Sweden. Svemo have decided to allow teams to replace injured riders whenever they want and an unlimited amount of times. Previously teams only were allowed to make one switch for the entire season. http://avestatidning...-speedwayforare Also dont forget these two things tomorrow: Full gas med Magnus "Zorro" Zetterström, which is Zorro's radioshow. Listen to it live at http://kfumetuna.se/ the program starts at 15.00 (2pm UK time)) Swedish time or listen to all his programs afterwards at; http://kfumetuna.se/...ioprogrammenWeb Ikaros Smederna vs. Nässjö , live streamed Swedish Division 1 speedway. see http://www.ikarossmederna.nu/ for link. 7. at the moment i would think that these 5 riders that Jenn has writen are the ones that will make the team and they are also those that i would pick at the moment. However lets not forget someone like THJ who havent had the chance to prove himself that much yet in the leagues due to his 1 month ban. PK have said a few years ago that it is time for the younger ones to ride in SWC and that he have done his part.
  8. live streamed division1 speedway: Filbyterna vs. Ikaros Smederna http://qrodo.com/eve...67-a0defcc97dce edit* Alan why dont you use Google Translate? see this link. next meeting is on Wednesday June 9th, at 19.00 Swedish time. Also look at the calendar on the right to find the dates for Ikaros Smederna's (Icarus Smiths in English) meetings.
  9. Svemo have taken a decision to compromise a little regarding the demand for airfence and "formplyfa" on some type of tracks. The type of tracks affected are so called "practice tracks" which is not in regular use but only used for practice/learning. This means that tracks like, Örebro, Täby (Stockholm), Östersund and Bollnäs can continue as before. http://www.racemcsport.com/nyhet_spec.aspx?NyhetsID=843&Sport=speedway
  10. i think Smederna will show some of their away meetings as well but it depends on the standard of the internet connection., just keep an eye on smedernas website on race nights and you will notice if they have a stream or not. Oh and Robert Pettersson was suspected to have broken his thigh bone but examinations showed that the bone was not broken. However Masarnas Pontus Aspgren had to pull out of the ongoing allsvenskan meeting between Masarna and Hammarby after a crash. Pontus probably have broken a collarbone.
  11. latest news is that Gnistornas Robert Pettersson have a broken tigh bone. The other three riders escaped uninjured.
  12. reports says that all 4 involved in the crash in Eskilstuna are back up on their feets. And yes i think Ikaros Smederna will try to broadcast all of their meetings this way. look at the calendar at ikarossmederna.nu for their meetings and the links to the live streams (different link for each meeting) will be posted at I.Sm. website.
  13. unfortunatley there has been a crash in Karlstad in the Allsvenskan meeting between Solkatterna from Karlstad and visitors Masarna from Avesta. Sources says that Sebastian Aldén (Masarna) and Robin Törnqvist (Solkatterna) have collided. Aldén probably a broken wrist and Törnqvist a severe concussion and hip pains. Both will be taken to hospital in Karlstad. The crash happened in Heat 14.

  15. last years spectator statistics (from speedway.nu): Dackarna....... 4255 Lejonen..........3800 Indianerna......3452 Elit Vetlanda...3338 Västervik........3138 Piraterna .......3111 Vargarna........2508 Rospiggarna...2473 Smederna......2163 Smedernas home meetings were held early in the season before they went broke and the weather wasn't especially good at the first 2-3 meetings. And the final home meeting at Vargarna, which was held at a sunny June evening, attracted 3183 people and their lowest attendance was against Rospiggarna when only 1400 showed up.
  16. the swearing in Swedish terms aren't really that bad but there aren't any English word that you could translate it to.
  17. Seimour Östervall is the club president as he is the chairman in Västervik Speedway. Swedish teams doesn't have the promotor system you have in Britain. Its really *swearing* bad. The amount of spectators continues to go downwards and the chairman Seimour Östervall, is to say the least, very frustrated. Sunshine and speedway usually means that the poeple will come in good numbers to Sparbanken Arena (sprabanekn is a local bank in Västervik) but against last weeks meeting against Rospiggarna, only 1744 people showed up. Its really *swearing* bad, i had expected more now when the weather was good but perhaps icehockey on tv (world championships) affects the amount of spectators. I feel very frustrated says Seimour Östervall. The question is if Västervik's inhabitants isn't more interested in seeing their speedway team or if the club is not good enough at market and promote the team? We just had a crisis in the club. I think that Västerviks inhabitants should leave the coach says Seimour. Can you market yourself better? -Well we can only hope that people comes. The low attendances is not an immediate disaster since the club have calculated with a spectator average at 1800-2000 people/meeting. -its better to make a lower expectation budget then to make a budget with exaggerated expectations that will be hard to reach up to. Haven't you put the ambitions to low? -after the crisis we have had to focus on chasing sponsors and money while we also have lowered our rider salaries, says Seimour, who explains that the club haven't had neither the time and financial resources to promote themselves better. Will it become better in the future? yes then we will have the time to structure it allot better. the bold lines are the reporters question to the club president. http://www.vt.se/spo...ticleid=5384737
  18. yeah Rospiggarna is a weak team however their best rider Jagus was missing for some reason and i think a rider like Pawlicki should be able to perform much better,
  19. Vargarna wanted to ride tomorrow but Indianerna said no.
  20. i think it is in that way that Pepe (1ist reserve) replaces Emil until Emil is back. That was the case when Tony Rickardsson pulled out midway into the 2006 season. Then Hans A took Tonys place in the remaining GPs that season.
  21. Speedy den boy, do have a link to where you read it? If you post it i can give you a much better translation. Also a little side note, Swedish speedway teams does NOT have a owner, they own themselves. Evben if all teams have incorporated the actual team organisation always owns at least 51% of the stocks of the "Speedway team Inc."
  22. Vargarna vs. Indianerna is cancelled, a new date have not been decided yet.
  23. Hey again, david, i've been looking again at the bus/train times. according to Östgötatrafiken, there are no train or bus that leaves Motala at 21.30. Your only option/hope is to take bus 520 fro Motala to Linköping where you either stops or switch to a commuter train to Norrköping. You'll be at Linköping around 23.30 and in Norrköping about 30 minutes later. I'havent beena ble to find any times for the last stage from either Lkpg/nrkpg at your day of travel since time schedules are only available to July 31st. However looking at times a week earlier there seems to be two options from either Linköping or Norrköping. From Linköping you can either: 1. take a train (SJ Regional train nr 10220) from Lkpg to Norrköping where you will switch to a trainbus (SJ Tågbuss nr 6322) from Nrkpg to Nykpg and again in NyKpg switch to a local bus (line nr 715) that will take you to Skavsta Airport. The train departs at 06.15 from Linköping Central station and you will be at Skavsta at 08.28 or 2. you can take an expressbus (Swebus Expressbuss nr 830) at 06.25 from Lkpg to Nyköping and switch to a local bus (line nr 715 the same as in option 1) that will goto the airport and you'll be at Skavsta at 08.28. From Norrköping: 3. take an expressbuss (Swebus Expressbuss 830, the same bus that leaves Linköping 45 min earlier) which will depart at 07.10 from Norrköping Bus station and it will take you to Nyköping where you'll switch the same local bus (line nr 715 ) as in the options above and you'll be at Skavsta at 08.28 4. trainbuss (SJ Tågbuss nr 6320) at 06.15, from Norrköping bus station, to Nyköping where you'll switch the local bus (line nr 715 ) as in the options above and you'll be at Skavsta at 07.51 note that on the first train in option 1 you (probably) need to make a reservation and the same goes for the expressbus in those option it is used this is if you want to be certain to get a seat. The train is booked at www.sj.se and the bus at www.swebus.se if you pm me your email i could send the links to it.
