World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
george.m replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Is it just me or was there a World Cup final taking place tonight with some thrilling riding? Or did I imagine it and Eurosport just showed a meeting featuring only a GB team that came last? FFS the GB post mortem has started before the medals are around the riders necks. Heads up own a4ses or what? -

What a thrilling climax. Great speedway. Can't help but think Kolodziej was the only person who didn't see HKI working up to that great move on the last bend. Well done HKI and Denmark. -

Bit of multi-tasking. Surely that's what women tell us they do and we can't! -

Two flippin' seasons! I appreciate the 'new' promotion needed to find its feet last year, but seriously when decisions need to be made we seem to take too long. You can have all the marketing initiatives off the track and all the fancy presentation on it - girls singing the Eye of the Tiger and female start marshals in diving suits - what really matters is the business stuff. Seven riders, and a good rack week in week out. After today, Two Kevin Wolbert's is not the only one who's performance is under the microscope. -

Frankly I'd be happy to replace Wolbert with a half decent rider on any average who is a trier. Our season is finished (correction - it feels like it's never started), so bring in someone who entertains and keep the fans coming through the gate. Like fromafar says, Wolbert's is taking the p!ss. The punters are being taken for mugs. At the start of the season when we were underperforming Gordon Pairman said in his programme notes that one rider's kevlars were on a shaky nail. I took that to be Two Wolberts. Does this sentiment still prevail today? -

Boycott Meeting- Fans Union Of Thespeedway

Is this for real? Are you serious? I think you're seriously lacking in understanding about the average speedway fan's mentality. We stand there in the cold, in crap stadiums, watching poor meetings because: 1. We are sadomasochists 2. We are totally mental 3. We love our sport Why is it I can't get Arthur Scargill out my mind?
