Pretty clear Mr Flange wasn't at the meeting or he's lying again. On the back straight some arguments broke out precisely because some Belle Vue muppets cheered when Lindgren crashed and a couple continued to hurl abuse as he was lay prone on the track... there then proceeded to be loud boo's when a clearly injured Lindgren walked back to the pits followed by the utterly classless roar when it was announced he was withdrawn from the meeting. The first 'throwing' incident occurred after Schlein had won Heat 14 when a can of beer was hurled at his as he rode by on the victory lap. This was repeated in Heat 15 when a bottle was thrown at Masters & Schlein. Schlein proceeded to pick up the bottle and pretend to take a celebratory drink. Cue a string of abuse, to which Schlein appeared to give some back. Not entirely sure about the claims of someone being 'ejected' as the stewards nearest to us were stood around watching. Plus it happened twice. If the culprit/s was/were identified hopefully they will be banned. I must add though there were some decent Aces fans there and commiserations to them, a gut wrenching way to lose. Dan Bewley was fantastic, making many of the relatively few passes on the night, although a couple of times he was aided by poor lines taken by Wolves riders on the final bends. Take nothing away though, he made moves both inside and out. As for the Lindgren/Bjerre crash, tough one to call, Lindgren certainly swept across into the corner to cover the inside, at which point Bjerre rode into him. He wasn't behind at that point though as he had come completely across. I'll admit the call could have gone either way bit it is usually the case that the rider on the inside gets excluded in such incidents, if you're going to charge up the inside as Bjerre was you need to be sure you've got the drop on the other rider, even when you have and your back wheel catches their front wheel we often see the inside rider excluded. I can understand the Aces fans frustration at the decision. Interesting SCB mentions the RR decisions of Lemon. In Heat 3 it was announced that Craig Cook was the RR, shortly followed by the Wolves announcement of Kyle Howarth. Just after this it was then announced Belle Vue had changed their mind and put Worrall in instead. Edited to add: I forgot to mention Jack Smith, rode his heart out tonight, seems to be making great progress. As for Wolves, we've made the final but as the poster above says.. it feels pretty hollow as without Lindgren we have pretty much no chance.

I understand what you are saying and I'm sure that's what they meant.. the wording is wrong though. This is what it should say... If a rider is representing their FMN in an FIM Speedway Championship, irrespective of the rider’s MA, a choice of Guest or (if permitted by Art 18.10) Absent Rider Replacement facility is available By placing the 'if permitted' in front of the Absent rider Replacement you are specifically saying that just the RR is subject to Art 18.10.. which it is. By placing it after it can very easily be interpreted that the 'permitted by Art 18.10' refers to both the Guest and RR. Anyway, personally no objections against a guest I just wish someone would proof read the rule book and tidy it up so these issues don't arise. I hadn't checked the other fixtures with regards to Lambert/Harris etc, thanks for that. You'd prefer King or Lasse Bjerre over RR then?
-
This is the point, what has the MA got to do with anything in either rule? If it said regardless of team position it would make sense. It's pretty clear, a guest isn't permitted by Art 18.10. As you say, what other reason would there be for the 'if permitted by 18.10"? I have no doubt a guest will be allowed though as there is a precedent earlier in the season... So best choices seem to be Lambert, Harris or Nicholls?
-
According to that rule a guest isn't allowed. Otherwise why 'if permitted by Art 18.10'. Art 18.10 clearly doesn't permit a guest for a rider in the 2-5. FACILITIES a1) Absent #1: G or RR a2) Absent D-up (if riding for the “other” team) G or RR 1 Absent rider (2 – 5): RR c) More than 1 Absent rider (1 - 5) 1 x RR facility and G for all others d) Absent #6 or #7: G e) “No Facility” Premiership 1-5 Championship rider with an MA up to and including 4.00 Premiership 6-7 & Championship 1-7 NDL G* not declared in a SGBP & SGBC team declaration Is there any other reason why it would say 'if permitted by Art 18.10'? Maybe I am missing something? Edited to add: Only thing I can think of is it meaning that only 1 x RR facility can be used.. but then it should specify, if permitted by Art 18.10 c

Spot on Dean. The camera angles they use are awful as well. The Wolves meeting looked awful on TV but at the track it came across as a decent meeting, albeit with some rider errors mainly from Tungate, entirely as predicted.

If it doesn't go ahead tonight then it's only fair Wolves are sent through to the final. Belle Vue will have had two attempts to stage the meeting. More importantly, I remember how upset many Belle Vue fans were last year they were robbed because they finished above Wolves in the table and it was clear how important this issue was too them. Too often rulings go against Belle Vue so this time the BSPA should adhere to the Aces fans wishes and send the higher placed team through.

Do We Still Need The Play-offs
BWitcher replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It would be much simpler and far quicker for all if they simply broadcast one meeting live, let the other one run as normal and simply showed the pre-recorded heat from the other meet in between. All be done and dusted by the normal time. -
Peter Pk Karlsson Have Announced His Retirement.

An absolute legend and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot. Got to know him very well in the very early stages of his UK career and will never forget trying to gain entrance to a night club in Wolverhampton, past the hour they would normally let you in and he announced in his Swedish Black Country accent. "I'm Peter Karlsson, let me and my friends in".. I figured the bouncer wouldn't have a clue, but another one came over, knew who he was and in we went. Happy retirement PK.
