Why? It used to happen on a regular basis when the sport had much bigger crowds. Again... I don't remember the outcry when Hans Nielsen was lining up against David Haynes or Andy Sumner in 80's/90's.

Can't see why Belle Vue are being criticised for tonight's call off. Seems like they made a very good effort to get the meeting on only for rain, which wasn't actually forecast to arrive and put an end to things. In no way can that be blamed upon the promotion in my opinion.

Personally don't have any issues with Craig Cook at all, the more riders like him the better. He's passionate and dedicated to his club. The kind of rider you love to have in your team and other teams may well love to hate (although that words a bit strong). He can be outspoken and dish it out on social media so he'll naturally attract some stick back.

You really shouldn't talk about your beloved promoter like that!

Peterborough, would make more sense them being in the same division as Ipswich and Kings Lynn one would have thought.

He wasn't goading, he was stating facts. Two Wolves riders were injured after collisions with Aces riders. Aces riders were excluded on both occasions as a result, as such deemed to be to blame. Whether those decisions were correct is another argument, but Steve was quite correct to refute a claim that Wolves had 'used up all their luck' in their semi-final. Two riders with broken bones in their back/neck is far from 'using up luck'.

Interesting claim.. Aces riders did take out Wolves top two, that is plainly true. However, they did not do it deliberately, both were complete racing incidents where neither party was wholly to blame, especially the first one, the second there is an argument for saying Lindgren came across too sharply of course.

It's perfectly possible to have a 'grudge' match without some lunatics causing problems. I don't see anything wrong with the press release. Let's put this into perspective, there was an isolated incident of someone, at the most two people, throwing items onto the track which was unacceptable behaviour. The rest, the booing, jeering etc, some may not like it, but it's all part of it. It also must be pointed out just how dangerous social media and this forum can be. We've had to put up with one poster in particular on here who has done nothing but stir up a hornets nest between the two clubs to the extent that many Wolves fans I have spoken too (and indeed fans from other teams) have developed a deep dislike for Belle Vue purely because of his posts. When you throw in using various accounts on other forms of social media to again, shall we say, stir the pot, it begins to create a toxic atmosphere. Don't be fooled into thinking that it is just those that post, there are many others who read the forum This thread has not headed down that route yet solely due to his absence. It is a great shame that this final will be somewhat ruined by the sheer number of missing riders, BUT, it is still a final, both teams I am sure will give their all and hopefully both sets of fans will be treated to some good racing. Speaking of guests and Cup Finals, was it the KOC Cup Final in which a rider rode for Cradley in one leg and Wolves in the other?

One person took over the thread and many many others, heaping shame on his club. One of his vitriolic posts were removed and he hasn't posted since (although one of his many aliases has and indeed liked your post) and funnily enough, no arguments since. Said person was completely absent from the Wolves/Swindon threads as well resulting in a peaceful thread with no animosity. Long may the peace continue!

I really don't see how it opens up any cans of worms, people really do seem to be misunderstanding things. Under no circumstances should a replacement be allowed for one rider missing, however, in the case of last night ( and 1st leg) if a team is missing both of their top two riders with 100% genuine injuries (not colds, stomach upsets etc) then a replacement should be allowed, it doesn't have to be an asset. The sport actually would look more credible if that replacement was from outside the league rather than another teams rider. The chances of the same situation cropping up again are extremely slim.

They're not answering your question Philip, simply venting their anti-Woffinden spleen. They're also not answering giving the circumstances either. A rider should not be allowed to be drafted in just for a final except in extenuating circumstances.. example.. a teams top two riders being out with 100% bona fide genuine injuries, not just covered by a 'doctors note'. No team is going to fiddle having their top two missing to bring in one rider and RR. In terms of 'credibility' there would have been zero explaining to do to any outsider looking in and would have made utter sense.
