The way we Scorpions are performing, you probably will beat us on Friday! -
Prediction of 2025 Championship league
scunny1 replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We have two decent reserves and 5 inconsistent riders above them not doing what they should. -
25.07.2025 - Scunny v Edinburgh Double Header
scunny1 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Mountain, Harrison and Worrall to stay, the remainder to move on. Need a big hitter at number one , Douglas Klint, Pickering, Cook all go well at the EWR? Take away the large contingent of Edinburgh fans and the attendance would have been pretty poor. Its all over for this year, racing to the bottom for the wooden spoon. Every team has made positive changes apart from us, that says it all for this season. We started with a mediocre team and have ridden to that standard all season. -

We are so inconsistent and with several riders under performing, who knows what the outcome will be. Hope MPT doesn't get a maximum, just to rub his exclusion from this years Scorpion team. -
Scunthorpe vs Poole 18.07.2025

Wish the guy in the box would stop pumping up the volume on the music, as its just too loud. Maybe he was a 70's DJ.😁 -
Scunthorpe vs Poole 18.07.2025

We had already lost the meeting and due to race at Workington 20 hours later. Two riders who have lost form at home and needed the track time to try out different things. A telling feature of this years team is nobody is doubling up, ( apart from Luke sharing Rising Star position at KL.) I think actual racing is needed to hone their skills. Congrats to the Pirates ,just better in the latter part of the meeting. No idea why we watered and graded the track when we were winning, after that we went downhill? -

Weather warning for thunder storms. If it start, I think the ref will be pushing heats through very quickly. -

Shows just how thick you are!!! There is no such thing as a prostrate removal, but thanks for worrying about my Appendectomy and my PROSTATE is still intact -

If he didn't have keyhole surgery then it will not be a week or so-trust me, I had emergency surgery and still have the 5 inch scar. -

Think Lambo and Luke will do so much better this Friday than at Plymouth. -
We are pushing these youngsters too hard and too fast. At least let them get out of Championship reserve spots, have a spell at number two and let them learn their trade at a sensible pace.
-
Jake has been a shadow of himself since coming back from his season with Redcar too- so yes 5.
-
The music is deafening, but the box announcer and infield announcer inaudible.
-
Jake being ill last minute and using RR killed us. 5 under performing riders, with only Luke and Connor on the pace. Another lack lustre display and play offs looking a very remote possibility. I can see a mass clear out of riders at the end of a very short season for us. Congrats to Oxford , clearly Masters has sussed our track now and Voulas a great guest too.
-
Should be a closely fought contest, need the Kennedys to be more consistent for us. Which colours will the Press Officer wear with a foot in both camps, I'm guessing Oxford?

Scunthorpe Vs Berwick 6/6/25 Championship
scunny1 replied to Mr Bee's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good to hear Steve is just battered and bruised and thankfully no broken bones, get well soon. The sequence of photos of the crash look horrific, don't know if his helmet took the brunt of Kildermand's bike going over him. -

We have a poor away record to every team ,so who will get the bonus point?😁 -
Redcar Bears v Oxford Cheetahs - Live on BSN 30th June

Oxford v Scunthorpe didn't even have a thread started. The Cheetah's Press Officer just happens to be Scorpions Press Officer too, with a different slant on the actual result on both sites! -
Scunthorpe (35) vs Oxford (55) KOC. 23rd May.

It seems to me, that Luke Harrison is the most motivated, so maybe he should instil some of his thinking into the others. -
A season too far for Lambert. Jake's speedway career has stalled. Worrall a big risk after injury and needs to up a gear. Mountain just about doing enough, but needs to kick on. The reserves are doing well and we have to remember how young Luke is and a huge leap from number 7 rookie to number 2 berth. It will be a short season for us, as we will continue to be not good enough away from home.

Don't know if there are any motorway closures planned, but the A18 runs parallel to the motorway and will bring you out at the end of the M181 roundabout at Tesco Extra.

Workington v Scunthorpe BSN 03/05/25 3pm
scunny1 replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With teams falling out of the league and other teams moving up , my "local" derby is now Redcar 115 miles away. I think Plymouth/ Poole derby a few miles longer. Going to away matches, especially evening ones ,is now expensive with fuel, stay overs and time consuming. Streaming meetings is obviously a much cheaper option and takes out the wasted bad weather meeting cancellations, having disappointedly travelled many miles up and down the road network. -
Been complaining about this for several seasons. Mic needs a sports shield around it to cut out the wind roar. No coordination between the announcer and the "DJ" in the box, or the in field announcer. For the box announcer telling Dan to go into the pits to get him some info was comical, since the poor guy was on crutches!

200 miles and another 3 and a half hours drive probably not worth his while.
