We are pushing these youngsters too hard and too fast. At least let them get out of Championship reserve spots, have a spell at number two and let them learn their trade at a sensible pace.
-
Jake has been a shadow of himself since coming back from his season with Redcar too- so yes 5.
-
The music is deafening, but the box announcer and infield announcer inaudible.
-
Jake being ill last minute and using RR killed us. 5 under performing riders, with only Luke and Connor on the pace. Another lack lustre display and play offs looking a very remote possibility. I can see a mass clear out of riders at the end of a very short season for us. Congrats to Oxford , clearly Masters has sussed our track now and Voulas a great guest too.

Should be a closely fought contest, need the Kennedys to be more consistent for us. Which colours will the Press Officer wear with a foot in both camps, I'm guessing Oxford?

Scunthorpe Vs Berwick 6/6/25 Championship
scunny1 replied to Mr Bee's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good to hear Steve is just battered and bruised and thankfully no broken bones, get well soon. The sequence of photos of the crash look horrific, don't know if his helmet took the brunt of Kildermand's bike going over him. -

We have a poor away record to every team ,so who will get the bonus point?๐ -
Redcar Bears v Oxford Cheetahs - Live on BSN 30th June

Oxford v Scunthorpe didn't even have a thread started. The Cheetah's Press Officer just happens to be Scorpions Press Officer too, with a different slant on the actual result on both sites! -
Scunthorpe (35) vs Oxford (55) KOC. 23rd May.

It seems to me, that Luke Harrison is the most motivated, so maybe he should instil some of his thinking into the others. -
A season too far for Lambert. Jake's speedway career has stalled. Worrall a big risk after injury and needs to up a gear. Mountain just about doing enough, but needs to kick on. The reserves are doing well and we have to remember how young Luke is and a huge leap from number 7 rookie to number 2 berth. It will be a short season for us, as we will continue to be not good enough away from home.

Don't know if there are any motorway closures planned, but the A18 runs parallel to the motorway and will bring you out at the end of the M181 roundabout at Tesco Extra.

Workington v Scunthorpe BSN 03/05/25 3pm

With teams falling out of the league and other teams moving up , my "local" derby is now Redcar 115 miles away. I think Plymouth/ Poole derby a few miles longer. Going to away matches, especially evening ones ,is now expensive with fuel, stay overs and time consuming. Streaming meetings is obviously a much cheaper option and takes out the wasted bad weather meeting cancellations, having disappointedly travelled many miles up and down the road network. -
Been complaining about this for several seasons. Mic needs a sports shield around it to cut out the wind roar. No coordination between the announcer and the "DJ" in the box, or the in field announcer. For the box announcer telling Dan to go into the pits to get him some info was comical, since the poor guy was on crutches!

200 miles and another 3 and a half hours drive probably not worth his while.

Oxford vs Scunthorpe - KO Cup 1st leg - 9/4

Its going to be a short season. We should have had more of a clear out , but Rob is to loyal to his rider friends. We lack at least one more heat leader, probably two. -

Nothing on the website to confirm this. We had more information when you were more active Dan, time for a comeback mate! -

Yes you can pay by card. M181 will be open but down to one lane whilst another roundabout is built, traffic runs freely through 50mph stretch with average speed cameras operating. -
If the M181 is still closed the A18 runs parallel to the M180 and will bring you out at the end of the M181 i.e. Next to Tesco Extra. Alternative is to go past M181 junction and follow Scunthorpe East , but this is a longer route.

Would have had a larger audience if it was on the club website, not everyone is on Farcebook. Have we not got a Press Officer?
-
What time is Press and practice, nothing on Socials, or website???

There is usually a massive gap, with riders twiddling their thumbs mid season and the weather is more likely to be favourable too. -
It seems nobody wants to put their head above the parapet and take on the chairman's job, including your Promotor. I think you will find current chairman runs a speedway club that does not go beyond its financial commitments. He also runs a thriving garage business. Lastly the back end of Lincolnshire must be over the border, since the EWR is in a completely different county of North Lincolnshire.
