  1. As is usually the case, the music blasts out, the "DJ "in the box doesn't realise the infield announcer is talking and the Announcer in the box seems to be stop start, or completely inaudible. I would like one of the Promotion, track staff etc to attend in the stand just after the start line for the whole meeting to witness what a shambles the PA system is.
  2. I said this in February. The prospect of a short season was always on the cards with such a weak team. Attendance on Friday will obviously be well down too.
  3. Well no surprise getting hammered. MPT once again showing no enthusiasm, totally unprofessional and needs to be sacked - can't see any other team signing him up. Ablitt struggled to be good enough at reserve and is totally out of his depth in the main team- another one who should never have been invited back. Only Picko and Mountain showing any fight, its time for a mass clear out. The crowd on Friday night will be very sparse no doubt and my prediction of early exit from KO Cup and BSN looks spot on. It can't get much worse as a supporter , who do we bring in to get more balance? Its ok to bring in a rookie reserve, but we can't carry 3 or 4 passengers as well!
  4. On his past history against the Pirates, If Ablitt gets 5 points home, or away that will be awesome๐Ÿ˜
  5. Presume MPT and team manager got a dressing down from Rob for not watching the 2 minute clock ticking down? Presentation was pretty poor, with the fan baiting from the infield somewhat tiresome and unprofessional. Once again music is loud ,but box presenter is almost inaudible.๐Ÿ˜’
  6. Unless we get some rain offs in March and April, by May we will probably be out of BSN and KO Cup. I can see another short season looming.
  7. Harrison lives on Scorpions door step and works for the family firm, so makes no sense to drive hundreds of miles up and down the A1 to Scottish Border.
  8. If ,we win at home, then it will not be by huge margins. We therefore need good point scoring away from home for any aggregate score competitions.
  9. So that's the team . We started out with a great positive signing and then it all went downhill. Here is my take on each rider. Picko -great signing will score well and get 5 rides every match. Harrison- Will be fine at home, needs to improve away form. Mountain- Will be Mr Consistent, with usual 7 or 8 points. Ablitt- A Poole fan's favourite but not Scorpions. Will not progress and a major worry. MPT- A real enigma, brilliant one meeting ,dire the next. Hopefully stays fully fit. Lambo- Rob's mate -say no more. Poor last season, a do or die 2026 season prior to retirement. Ingram- No pressure, just a learning season , hopefully will score more than his average. I can see why forum members think Scorpions will be bottom of the league. I'm not very inspired by the team but live in hope for a good season anyway.
  10. Well at least she is still presentable. We could have had Katie Price do it( between marriages and house moves) for a much cheaper price๐Ÿคฃ
  11. MPT surely will get a max at Edinburgh.๐Ÿ˜
  12. Heeps, like Jake, did not kick on last season. Hopefully like you say, we can improve the team after averages change.
  13. Looking to be another uninspiring team, apart from Pickering . He is sure to get 5 rides per meeting and plenty of Tactical rides too!
  14. Just stop the speculation and tell us who the other heat leader is please.
  15. Will the next drip feed of the 2026 team be MPT?
  16. Well its gone very quiet on our team building. Drew Kemp, or Zack Cook anybody?
  17. I guess with Glasgow announcing their team ,young Luke is staying with the Scorpions next season? Good lad who will steadily improve.๐Ÿ‘
  18. Old Norse for Scuma's hamlet, or village (thorpe )
  19. Pretty sure Ryan Douglas would have been more expensive than Dan.
  20. We needed a good number one and number 5 , but neither position impressed this year and come heats 13 and 15 we were consistently poor. Got to change that as next years priority.
  21. So one club is in middle of a huge city with a massive population and the other is a tourist town with 3 million visitors a year. Compare those to decimated towns like Redcar, Scunthorpe, Workington and the clubs do not have the wealthy backers, or the cash positive population. If I won the lottery, I would put money into my club and attract the best riders, as it is I'm envious of the top two teams success, but win or lose, I will still be standing on the freezing terraces watching my team.
  22. Well that was dire to watch. Scorpions may have come bottom of the league, but we have some great racing week in week out.To have a track that is wide with so many racing lines, is a massive plus for passing and entertainment. I'm not saying I like seeing us bottom of the league, on the contrary, but I go to watch to see good racing and feel I've had value for money.
  23. Thought Godfrey said last year he had Luke Harrison on a 5 year contract?
