  1. I deleted it mate --nerves you see, coach leaves in 9 hours. But just for you....
  2. For those of you guys that leave for Cardiff today, may you all have a very safe journey there and back,a most enjoyable Friday and Saturday and Sunday whatever you choose to do. Got a last shift at CO-OP to get through today Hopefully catch up with some of you Saturday afternoon. Have a great time everyone and enjoy May you and your families have the bestest of weekends.
  3. This must have been her unpopular year. Not exactly overwelmed with mates-must have been the head gear or her singing,or her blue trainer socks.
  4. Not at all, made a mistake in quoting and by the time I had added my comment you had already replied!! Are you the Frank Ebdon of correcting posts and two minutes and if it aint fixed you get a warning? was also bringing in the washing
  5. Had a better offer from Paulco-he sent me his phone number.
  6. Rest assured Paulco I shall be trying to find you
  7. We cant wait, Work every weekend, havent had a full weekend off for two years, not seen any speedway this season and only 4 meetings in past two years. Laddo is now old enough to spend the afternoon with his sts mates, many of whom he has never met and will be great to catch up with forum members we havent seen for a year or three even, and those from here we have never met. Hilight of our year as always, even though it only lasts approx 16 hours on Saturday from start to finish. Gonna be a great day. I wanna meet Lady S an all but doubt she will have time to hobnob with us at POW will ya Aunty will try and bring a Seemond picture for you if you can:) (If that dont persuade her nothing will)
  8. No you misundestand- Sue was saying where she thought the prize tickets would be allocated and ours have arrived, so confirmed top tier in our case--We are chuffed to bits, just wondered if all prize winners will be in same area. And like I say will be writing to the paper to thank them next week for a great time we had-wouldnt do any harm for others to do the same who are winners to wherever they won them from. Its not often you see letters of thanks for winning stuff. Great service, two letters of confirmation, and tickets arrived beginning of June. Even had an email from the speedway correspondent to my lad hoping we enjoy our day.
  9. Its been reported down this way and on Somerset site and Exeter site that locals Lloyd Barrett (son of Wayne Barrett) and Nathan Stoneman are both involved in junior demonstration races before the event. I am not sure of who else what time or anything. Gates open at 5,were the youngsters not on last year between 5 and 6 before the music etc??? seems a shame if thats the case this year, cant maximise the people there seeing them, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere or incorrect timings.
  10. We won our tickets through the local paper as well this year and when they arrived in u20 top tier and greatly appreciated they were too.. They have an air horn free zone so maybe there is a freebie zone as well on the third bend where everyone that won tickets from the press are herded in and others can look up, can hurl abuse at us, and call us all scavengers and then lock us in the stocks and throw rotten tomatoes at us after heat 8--A sort of Tesco Value aisle from years ago Muchly appreciated this end and will be writing to the paper next week to thank them and tell em what a great time we had.
  11. Blimey, will see how she goes at Cardiff and see how she pans out and maybe book a ticket for a few weeks later in Exeter. You dont often get a chance in life to see Belinda Carlisle twice in 4 weeks Mini Nevs is shall we say slightly under enamoured-but I cant wait. http://www.ents24.com/web/event/1472052/Here_And_Now.html Lordi are booked to perform however LadyS 4 days after Cardiff at The Castle Fest- Smederevo -Serbia!! Would be a tad of a rush from Cardiff if you aint got your tickets yet. Witney Uk 16th August at The Black Swan festival if you can hang on till then. Anyone know where Witney is?? http://www.lordi.fi/Lordi_The_Official_Website.htm
  12. Gonna brush up on me Heaven Is a Place on Earth,, Hope she sings Circles in the Sand-will be quite apt for Cardiff. And the brilliant Runaway Horses and finally serenade Shazzy with Leave a Light on for me. Payback time Shazzy after your Tony Hadley renditions a few years back. Stadium at 5 it is then
  13. We are really looking forward to it,first speedway of the season for us and meeting up with friends from over the years that we no longer get to see on a regular basis. Remember last year and I thought I think it is-but Im not 100% certain and went up to a bloke in the Prince of Wales and said Hi-Liontamer arent you? Luckily it was
  14. We are-we won tickets in one of those Bomber Harris Santa competitions in local press. Just dunno where we are sitting at the moment-could be on the top of the big screen for all we know cranking the handles back to manually open the roof or could be lording it up with Lady S in the methanol zone thingy -Have to await for the tickets to arrive to find out. I know they are dispatched very close to the date.I am trusting they will arrive -did send a fax back to the ticket distributors claiming the win after the initial phone call from the promotion team as instructed. Anyone else won and heard anything about what sort of seats it is? Oiii Shazzy-you bringing me 2007 tshirt this time you forgot last year or has it gone forever?
  15. HOTEL ?? HOTEL?? thought you were on a budget!!! Look shes obviously got you under the thumb... Im trying to help you here Peter, Forget the hotel,Gordan Ward is advertising seats on his coach from Exeter, £15 a head, come back straight afterwardsBuy a cheap tent or pick one up on that excellant site freecycle, (or I will set ours up before you arrive!!!)book a couple of seats on Gornos coach-then when we get back to Exeter you can set the tent up in me back garden with your lady-hell we even own an inflatable double mattress for some obscure reason that you can borrow-no comfort spared-so thats got the travel down to £30 once you get to Exeter. Will get the wife to bring you out some sausages you can fry together over the camp fire in the morning whilst all singing "Kumbaya, my Lord"before you both head back down to tin mine country. So thats costs down a bit so far- The offers there Corny-the offers there- EDITED FOR FINANCIAL ADVICE..... Just checked Corny-£34 tickets still available-Family tickets 2 adults and two kids still available for £85-buy one of them and flog the unused tickets to local chavs that look under 16 for a fiver each-so thats £75, + £30 coach seat = £105 + petrol from cornwall to Exeter = £20--you come in under budget saving £21 a month for the next three months-all you need then is money for a burger each or a kfc bargain bucket and a couple of drinks each-so up the savings to £25 a month each and you are sorted!!!! Job done
  16. I dont mean to be rude Dietbowers... But do we actually know each other??
  17. Whats the point? house prices are nose diving-buying a new front door or underlay,or a buying a cprner bath and built in shower unit or building a bar B Que on the patio or similar would set you back a few quid at this moment in time and by June the house price will have fallen by thousands--Much more than you invested in a few home improvements--ride the storm Corny Ride the Storm--New bits for houses can come in November once the market has settled In the current economic climate it would appear to be best to save £21 a month for the next three months each and have a great day out at Cardiff-then-when you have each got used to saving that money each for the next three months, once cardiff is over and done with you are used to saving that money and not such a burden, and you can both invest into a Gas boiler, central heating fully inclusive servicing and free repairs jobby with British Gas. Or a pet plan insurance for your pets,or even a bupa scheme for each of your health worries in the future. Saving for Cardiff is good- a sort of learning curve for newly together people and builds your determination to look to the future together and makes you realise that those things you think you cannot afford in the future house wise are actually achievable with hard work and saving regularly.Cardiff is just the first step in a long journey. You wont be able to go to Cardiff when the kiddies start being born Cya in The Prince of Wales --shall we say about 1 ish?? Listen to your Uncle Nevs Corny
  18. Corny --Noooooooooo Cardiff aint Cardiff without Corny --Is it lack of funds from the new house?-We could all chip in and support like everyone is for Johnoos testimonial? Is it lack of transport?-that can be arranged- Are you taking the lady abroad and the dates clash? Is it the goat lambing season in your pasture? or is it a bowls match clash of dates? Getting to Cardiff is not a problem-merely a challenge to be overcome. (Bit like when you broke your toe a few years back under the office door or whatever it was that incapacitated you) Corny you just gotta be there....She aint got you henpecked already has she?--Only jesting
  19. Very nice that they were able to listen to people's concerns Norbold, and try in some way to address them the best way that they could.
  20. There must be a way somehow, for those only interested in the speedway museum and not the park otherwise.-The museum is the attraction in speedway terms as many fans and their families already have entertainment parks and wildlife centres around the country that they visit already-In this instance for families on this forum the speedway museum is the unique attraction. If the people that run the place do not realise that they are losing potential customers who wish to visit the museum solely for that purpose surely. Stick a fence enclosure around the museum, install a drop zone by helicopter from the carpark SAS style or a bungee jump into the landing zone, issue all with Wulfsport jackets,a programme board and an air horn and a steel shoe on arrival in the carpark-(reduction obviously for speedway sunstrips and under 5's) and an ink pad imprint that says "Here for the Speedway" on our foreheads. Im sure if speedway fans are spotted elsewhere within the park the rangers would spot us and kick us out!!! Shall we say £15 quid a family and then when you leave the museum the kids are so excited at seeing the rest of the park through the fence they badger their parents to go for an upgrade ticket into the actual park for last orders for the last three hours of opening-say a tenner!!! You know it makes sense In an ideal world. No way would we as a family consider visiting it at the all inclusive prices if we were in the area much as we would love to see the museum.

  22. You cant have it-you bent it-broken thigh or no broken thigh. Took 4 blokes to jump up and down on that to straighten it again after you had played with it You dont ramraid a shop and then ask for the front door back a few years later I believe one fence panel has gone to the the Royal Albert Memorial Museum for future use,and a few of the Exeter team managed to get access to the site and dig a few out a couple of days before the demolition crew moved in-the rest were ripped up and sold for scrap by the company I believe--I think Mary managed to salvage the trackshop sign for Tony. Hey Steve I got a pint plastic glass filled with shale from the last night that Craiggy boy collected at each bend and the start line after it all finished- all levels marked and seperated by cardboard in between each-you can have it if you want-start the bidding at say £1,000 + £1.75 P&P
  23. You weren't wrong Ian. Thanks for the latest photos Bob C-Is indeed a very sad thing to see, cant believe how quicklyu the grass has grown since I last looked in there. Planning was finally agreed at the third attempt on October 1st for 100 houses to be built on the site (a 20% reduction from the initial plans),along with some sheltered housing that was agreed 18 months or so ago,so it won't be long until the buildings start going up. In a way, passing the place almost daily for the last two years, it seems like the speedway history is still there,a bit like a ghost ship, but once the buildings and streets are taking shape and you can no longer familiarise yourself with what was what part of the ground then it will be even sadder. When they start digging the foundations out maybe they would like to clean up and send one of the bricks lining the 3rd bend to Mr Silver to stick on his mantlepiece, seeing as he complained about them so much saying they were able to be seen when we gave em a bit of a hammering one Monday night -A fact later confirmed by Paul Wiktorko-A few were indeed visible that night at one spot on the bend.

Yeah he did Tsunami. This link from Chris Byles' excellent site The County Ground Years even includes that smile you are talking about. . Here
  25. Ah well-maybe Scott has taught Chris a valuable lesson and he will learn from it-its still a learning curve for him I would have thought and Bomber was never expected to do anything this year in GP's from many quarters-But he went out and proved people wrong at Cardiff. He went out from what was said to score 5 points a meeting-Would that have got him through to next seasons GP? Maybe after this it will make him even more determined and maybe just maybe Nicholls has done him a favour if Chris is in next year. Some learning curve-bring on 2008 and come on Bomber you have done GB proud this year-go for it chap
