Peterborough Panthers 2023
Daniel Smith replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Here's the thing. If AEPG have to find an alternative land & create a suitable venue, Bratley & Tomlin are still out the picture, it's still all Buster's. If a new stadium does comes to fruition Buster will be asking for an even bigger sum as the club will be on a more secure footing. -
Adding these here, it's important to debate

Lynn v Sheffield 24/04/23
Daniel Smith replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So you'd prefer disgruntled fans to just put up & shut up? When they've had enough, walk away silently? Come on Mimmo. I'd always spoken face to face with JC when he was there & Buster. They actually listened. Whether they did anything or not didn't matter, they listened. I felt wanted. When Wagstaff was in charge he made the fans feel wanted, easy to talk to about anything, it could be argued we were even worse than now back then. Anyone tried speaking with Allitt about their unhappiness yet? He does not (or didn't then anyway) take negativity well at all. Told me I have know idea what I'm talking about (a few expletives) & turned on his heels. He never spoke to me again. Point is, when you try to show your discontent face to face & they disrespect you as a life long fan only so much can be taken. It does look like, with the teams being put out year on year, Allitt still doesn't get it. Personally, Allitt is the biggest problem for King's Lynn (& Peterborough) but it all falls back on Buster because he employs this guy. It may be unfortunate for you Mimmo that everyone's unhappiness is exhausted on a forum (a social media) but that's the modern world. Everyone now has a voice. Apart from trolls, most people are very constructive but it's not being listened to at all. That could be said for every Premiership club to be honest. As horrible as it can get on here at times, every single promoter & manager should be reading this forum. There 'head in the sand' mentality is not working for this sport what so ever. Sheffield & Ipswich are very fortunate they have a 'sugar daddy' sponsor at the moment. In actual fact, we had that sponsor ourselves, wonder why they left us?!?!? Belle Vue are sticking in there competitively. It's not a coincidence King's Lynn & Peterborough are the 2 worst run Premiership clubs mate. Mimmo, this sport is dying, fans should not be silenced, they have to be allowed to demand change in anyway they see fit. -

You're a funny guy -
Have a feeling Cook is to have a look as a replacement for someone??

It took me 4 seasons to have the camels back broken. You've been in self negotiations for years too. It's the hardest thing to walk away from what you love but when you know it's time, it's time. Still miss it massively. I cannot & will not go watch another team but also cannot justify travel to Lynn under the current management team. £22 for bottom 2 season in season out is excessive. -

That's exactly the problem, they can also go every week scoring 5. The problem with signing 6 6pt 2nd strings. Even if all 6 scored 7, that's still only 42 a meeting. Asking Edwards to score 4 just to win meetings. It's to much for this team. It was always going to be a poor side. -

You should be banned from the forum with nonsense like that. Absolute 90s bangers -
To be fair, they do only have 6 rider's

But they're all 2nd strings themselves. Their averages are evidence of that & will be beaten by other 2nd strings & strong reserves. It is a very poor (cheap) team, fans have got to battle with their own minds now whether they keep spending the overpriced £20-22. -

3rd?? Only been top 4 twice since 2014. Considering it's a small league it's been appalling, not poor. -
Temp replacements do count towards rolling averages

That's definitely away win for Sheffield -
The 'Medehamstede Saxons' Real heritage right there

An idea then, MT pays what he thinks it's worth, if Peterborough fans are that desperate, they can club together and pay the difference to what Chapman thinks it's worth.
-
You're the one that said "just sell the club" so even you know there's value. Those naming rights have a price & it's whatever Buster sees fit, evwn when you're homeless
-
I fully understand why many think Peterborough will get battered but this is the best & fair track in Britain. Doesn't matter what teams turn up to the NSS, Belle Vue could be beaten. It's all about 'on the day'.

No, first 10 heats 4-2, then the remainder 1-5 so he doesn't have to pay No1 & No5 fees in heats 13 & 15 -

In theory, but Craig Cook is susceptible to taking bookings & not turning up due to mental health issues. It's why Belle Vue, King's Lynn, Ipswich & Peterborough have released him. He's unreliable. -

I believe that's always his intention in recent years. He wants his teams to win but I think his ideal would be 46-44 & no 5-1's or 2nd & 3rd's to save on BP's. -
It's already up for sale bro, the right money has to exchange hands & you are saved.

It's far from acceptable for fans, & the teams dished out at King's Lynn too are far from acceptable but Chapman will work from his budget & not move. This guy is not for moving under any circumstances no matter the amount of moaning & pressure. It's either 'put up & shut up' or don't go with Buster. -

Batchelor too, will not be employed while Buster is in charge. Cook is to unreliable -
The future of British Speedway after the 2023 season
Daniel Smith replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Spot on, but I don't think the rider's would lose that much. 2x home & away plus a North/South cup competition they'll be fine. It may also be a benefit as it should give the younger riders the hurry-up to find teams abroad, rather than the comfort zone. All that would be lost is GP/Ekstraliga rider's but that's no biggie either if we're working to save the sport as a whole.
