Ipswich vs Sheffield 27th May
Bagpuss replied to 2ndbendbeerhut's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Do what’s the deal.....can’t be bothered? Been told by Toruń to stay in Poland so he is fresh? Or can’t physically ride in both meetings? -

Joke sport I’m afraid. -
Scunthorpe v Plymouth - Championship - 21.5.21

Big risk going with three untried foreign riders in the top five, you can see Plymouth getting more hidings away from home. -
Ipswich V Belle Vue 20th May

Seems counter productive for this to be allowed to happen to the Rising Stars....by all means take them out of a ride if the team are losing but they should stay in their programmed heats other than that, on their programmed gates. -
Absolutely everything to do with professionalism of the sport. The situation should have been taken out of both clubs hands. Take Etheridge out of the equation and you still have two guests and R/R fit the first match of the season, should have been rescheduled by the governing body as soon as that became apparent. People go on and on about racing, the bikes, track prep etc but the biggest problem we have is unavailability of riders. People want to see 7v7 of contracted riders wherever possible!

Trelawny was a superb little track. Went there around 2001 for a meeting against Reading, Castagna and Mullett were still riding from memory and there's was some terrific racing that night. -
Early summer = 1st June. Not long now

Sheffield v Peterborough 20.05.21

I think it’s inevitable that at least one Polish club is going to try that at some point over the season, fingers crossed it won’t affect anyone who rides over here but you can see it happening unfortunately. -

Heavy rain 12-5 according to the met office. Just not speedway weather unfortunately. -

You think he’d have bettered the paid nine from R/R? Not sure myself. -

Inside or outside? As outside shouldn’t be compulsory anyway, completely ridiculous. I don’t take too much notice of Schroek’s comments, the press stuff before the meeting was codswallop from both camps and what he said after sounds the same. As for losing at home, yes it’s annoying but it was the first meeting after 18 months off for many riders and it rained....not ideal but it was only four points. It makes the next meeting a must win of course but I wouldn’t be too critical of anyone for last night. -

It looked from the brief clip on the telly that he made the wrong choice to hug the kerb presumably expecting King to divebomb him and realised as King went round the boards, hence hitting himself round the head -

Yep I’d probably agree with that. Bridger will get better the more meetings he rides and while some will question whether Proctor has it in him to get going he needs more than one meeting. Essentially tonight Lynn could have won but for Cook and Riss starting slowly and Rowe having an absolute wordie. Shoulda woulda coulda of course but its not all doom and gloom. -

Well at least the towel wasn’t thrown in, that strong finish at least gives them something to work with for the next meeting. One or two cobwebs blown away as the meeting progressed it would appear, you would imagine the rain did Lynn few favours but it’s the same for both sides and you just have to get on with it. Congrats Twitches. -

Pretty good meeting that. Hopefully Pearson remembers to remove himself from Holder’s backside before he goes hone. -

I think you’ll find he was banging his head in frustration at keeping it low round the last bend allowing King to fly round him. Batchelor riding an absolute bag of spanners. -
not the case for me, I just enjoy the banter.

Yep could go either way after such a long period of inactivity. Reserves concern me, could see Ippo’s having ours for breakfast unfortunately.
