I don’t think Morley will ever get any better but would have been a better option than Ledwith at Kent, who I assume has been signed at a sponsors request.

I would imagine he will be a second string on that figure and if he has an injury free season he is likely to be a bloody good one.

It remains to be seen what the seven line ups look like, we may be whittling about nothing but there is definitely a case for spreading what decent riders we have left across the seven clubs. Such a small league is a bit of a nonsense anyway but if you are going to have four strong sides and three also rans those bottom sides may as well run in the Championship and the remaining teams can have six months of challenge matches and all qualify for the Play Offs.

Would Hans, Scott, Tungate and Iversen fit?

It was the thing to do on a Saturday (or whenever) night when there was only three TV channels and no Netflix, no games consoles, fewer gastropubs and nightclubs etc etc. Every top rider in the world rode here and the sport had household names through terrestrial TV and newspaper coverage.

I’m sure speedway seemed better back in the day because the crowds were bigger and the atmosphere better.

Would be very surprised if Cook isn’t back and the ‘surprise’ signing will be a new number seven. Time fir Erik to really push on this year, no reason why he can’t do something similar to what Jensen did at Swindon last season. The ability is there just needs to develop consistency.

I understand that is going to be the case hence Shroeck carrying on as TM so that Dale can promote.

There is a chink of light fellas as it was announced at the talk in the other night that the track will be prepared slicker, hopefully that will mean better racing. Certainly can’t make it worse!

I’m not particularly interested in comparing team strengths in different countries but I do think a rider broadening their horizons by getting as many meetings abroad as possible on different tracks of different shapes and surfaces and the types of circuits major world meetings are races on can only be a good thing. The problem is that meetings aren’t guaranteed abroad with squad systems and you can’t blame any rider for signing for a Championship team for what is likely to be decent money.

There seems to be this general idea that Sheffield are going to be brilliant because they’ve got Pedersen to come back over here and that signing Kildemand will make Belle Vue world beaters? I don’t think we will look too different to them once our full team is revealed. I certainly don’t see our side being built on the cheap at all. Swindon stand out on paper because of their top four but even that could be very different once the racing begins.

I think we all knew the top three would be powerful, the reserves are going to make or break this team.

Jorgensen is in the team because he scores well and entertains at hone, simple as that. They obviously believe he will pull his finger out away from home but I’m far from convinced.,

Andersen had a pretty bad season with injuries and rode as a heatleader for much of it, if he is in the team as a second string and has a clear run free of issues I think it’s inevitable that he will improve his average.

I’m guessing the middle five with Tungate and Nicholls being incorrect.

Lynn is a unique surface, I wouldn’t judge anyone on one performance there.
