  1. Pretty sure he averaged 10 at home one season. That said unless he was clear coming out of the second bend he wouldn't win the race, would shut off if he got near anyone. But if he hit the front he was so fast.
  2. The irony Its a shame (but unsurprising) to see people writing riders off after one leg of a glorified challenge.
  3. Nope I'll be the sole Norfolker amongst a gaggle of Mancs aka the wife's family
  4. An example from thirteen years ago hardly helps your case! As Trees says I expect sponsorship plays a big part in what Poole pay, and I don't have a problem with clubs having bigger budgets than others, its just very irritating when people ignore that fact when trumpeting about why particular riders join their club. Very naive to think that money isn't a major part of it.
  5. And the chequebook to price others out I would imagine.
  6. Youngsters today Still astounds me that a club as big as Poole think they are can't get their track prepared properly on a regular basis.
  7. Instead of spouting negative hot air it might be best to wait til Saturday to see what the stadium and track are like.
  8. I hope to God that the track doesn't cut up for the opening meeting, we all want (and British Speedway needs) the opening event at the new National Stadium to be nothing except a success. I assumed there would be plenty of practice on it for the Bele Vue lads next week.
  9. Fair enough, didn't realise that. Just a matter of picking the four in form then, can't see it coming from outside the five aforementioned riders though.
  10. Unfortunately I think Robert is the only 'youngster' capable of performing to SWC standard at the moment. If it is the case that the reserve needs to be an U21 then the team really picks itself; Tai, Bomber, Nicholls & Cook with Lambert at reserve.
  11. I admire Nicholls for his stance, the BSPA haven't run British speedway properly for several years now and their organisation of Team GB has been awful. I'm sure his decision wasn't taken lightly and he felt that he had no other choice than to stand up for his principles. If he feels that things are changing and that Rosco wants him to be involved then IMO its good for everybody.
  12. Typical BSPA ineptitude. Buster & co could redeem themselves by meeting both promotions round a table and getting their differences ironed out once and for all.
  13. My God you are a negative Nancy. Is your glass ever half full?
  14. I'd say its pretty clear that Lynn, Swindon and Doyle are all at fault in part. Communication was obviously not great for things to get as far as they did and the lack of an outspoken press release from Rosco to in reply to Lynn's once Doyle had withdrawn suggests they knew all along. As has been said common sense has prevailed and we'll probably never know the crux of what went on so I don't think there is any real value in posturing, mud slinging and oneupmanship.
  15. Might be time to tailor the clubs to the EL rather than the other way round.
  16. The Glasgow promotion are the kind of people who can drag British speedway into the 21st century, we need more like them. Going on and on about their wealth comes across as incredibly bitter.
  17. Really very petty and yet another reason why speedway in this country looks so amateurish. These are now two of the biggest clubs in the PL and need their heads banging together.
