  1. Disappointing for Robert but he never had a hope today on a gater's track. Has to look at it as an invaluable experience and build on it for next year, still has plenty of time on his side BUT has to learn to make starts.
  2. Dear oh dear oh dear. If we can't put out a competitive side perhaps its time to drop out of the EL. Absolutely woeful, reminds me of 2002 and some of the gash we tracked in the 80's.
  3. I think big tracks are best but Wolves is probably the best little un out there, always decent racing IMO. Wolves should win this by 10-12.
  4. As I understand the 'squad system' Lynn could declare Jakobsen in the team and replace Batchelor with Huckenbeck who is the number 8. Whether that would go down well with Roger Warnes is another matter. To me Batchelor has never been fit all season (he admitted himself he started to early) and like Schlein he has simply had too many serious accidents, as others have said they have both struggled this year with other riders around them, backing out of tight situations and throttling off into the corners. Don't blame either of them for this, just one of those things after multiple serious injuries. Bottom line though is that Rory got sacked because he wasn't scoring points, and Porsing's score last night vindicated the decision straight away.
  5. Bloody hell, if there was any doubt that this Lynn team is sh!te then Kennett winning races for fun at the NA is confirmation.
  6. And really excited when they don't, I can't listen to him, does my head in. Sometimes less is more.
  7. What a poor day for the south coast mafia. Is Kurtz really all that? Not really living up to the hype.
  8. Fantastic top four, dreadful bottom three. Halsey has never achieved anything outside of his comfort zone at Mouldyhole and don't see this being any different. Can see this team being a nuisance should they get to the play Offs but shouldn't beat one of the top four sides over two legs.
  9. It goes without saying that criticism needs to be constructive. The trouble is there are posters on here who seem to have running feuds with others and seem to be constantly fishing for bites. I maintain that if a poster who no longer goes can put their points across in a constructive manner then that information is absolutely invaluable to a speedboat promoter.
  10. While I agree there are some posters who don't go anymore who post to simply 'stir the pot', there are others who don't go or like myself attend a fraction of the meetings they used to who have valid opinions and really ought to be listened to by promoters.....the reasons why these people don't go any more could be valuable information for somebody who is striving to improve their business. Any business which has a 'suggestion box' on its wall surely gets much more out of negative comments than positive ones.
  11. Seems he may have finished in front of Masters in heat 13 rather than behind him, BSPA sure has him down as 9+4 and Masters as 4+1. My bad! Lynn were a four man team tonight and as a unit gated appallingly. Thought the racing was poor and the atmosphere flat despite a decent crowd. The whole club is lacking a spark at the moment.
  12. Easy to get a full house at Poole as it's an area where people have plenty of disposable income and which is crawling with holidaymakers this time of year. Of course he still has to promote but it's much easier there than plenty of other places.
  13. City playing at home will always have a big impact on a Belle Vue crowd I'd have thought. Plus the Monday fixture is far more attractive and people may be reluctant to fork out twice in five days.
  14. Very much so, a tale of what might have been this season.
  15. One swallow doesn't make a summer but great effort from Kai this evening.
  16. In my experience there can be quite a difference between what fans and riders consider to be the best racetracks.
  17. Wonder where young Bewley will end up next year? Belle Vue will surely use him meaning no Friday night PL track.
  18. Have rain off tickets from the Swindon debacle to use up so the prospect of the world champion means Thursday seems a good bet if it's a completely dry forecast, but with a GP on Saturday will he and Iversen be present?
  19. He's obviously got ability and is young enough to improve, didn't expect too much from him away from home due to seeing tracks for the first time and has shown flashes at Lynn that he could be a decent asset over time. Certainly think he looks better than Jakobsen who has had the luxury of being a ringer reserve when he has ridden.
