  1. And the chequebook to price others out I would imagine.
  2. Youngsters today Still astounds me that a club as big as Poole think they are can't get their track prepared properly on a regular basis.
  3. Instead of spouting negative hot air it might be best to wait til Saturday to see what the stadium and track are like.
  4. I hope to God that the track doesn't cut up for the opening meeting, we all want (and British Speedway needs) the opening event at the new National Stadium to be nothing except a success. I assumed there would be plenty of practice on it for the Bele Vue lads next week.
  5. Fair enough, didn't realise that. Just a matter of picking the four in form then, can't see it coming from outside the five aforementioned riders though.
  6. Unfortunately I think Robert is the only 'youngster' capable of performing to SWC standard at the moment. If it is the case that the reserve needs to be an U21 then the team really picks itself; Tai, Bomber, Nicholls & Cook with Lambert at reserve.
  7. I admire Nicholls for his stance, the BSPA haven't run British speedway properly for several years now and their organisation of Team GB has been awful. I'm sure his decision wasn't taken lightly and he felt that he had no other choice than to stand up for his principles. If he feels that things are changing and that Rosco wants him to be involved then IMO its good for everybody.
  8. Typical BSPA ineptitude. Buster & co could redeem themselves by meeting both promotions round a table and getting their differences ironed out once and for all.
  9. My God you are a negative Nancy. Is your glass ever half full?
  10. I'd say its pretty clear that Lynn, Swindon and Doyle are all at fault in part. Communication was obviously not great for things to get as far as they did and the lack of an outspoken press release from Rosco to in reply to Lynn's once Doyle had withdrawn suggests they knew all along. As has been said common sense has prevailed and we'll probably never know the crux of what went on so I don't think there is any real value in posturing, mud slinging and oneupmanship.
  11. Might be time to tailor the clubs to the EL rather than the other way round.
  12. The Glasgow promotion are the kind of people who can drag British speedway into the 21st century, we need more like them. Going on and on about their wealth comes across as incredibly bitter.
  13. Really very petty and yet another reason why speedway in this country looks so amateurish. These are now two of the biggest clubs in the PL and need their heads banging together.
  14. I think Grachan has summed it up well on the Lynn thread, all parties at fault in some way and common sense has prevailed ultimately. Its just another episode which makes British Speedway look amateurish though which is a shame as the season hasn't even started yet.
  15. If its the same as the meeting a couple of years ago then I don't think the meeting at Lynn was promoted by Lynn or Buster but the Polish company involved. Anyway, good to see that common sense has prevailed although it would be good to hear Swindon's side of things.
  16. Belle Vue look favourites to me. I think there are question marks over fewer Aces riders than Poole men.
  17. Absolutely, any team could change at any time so to predict who will finish where based on changes they may or may not make is silly. It can only be done on team strengths as they are, and on that basis Scunthorpe look like a bottom four side.
  18. The removal of pairs representing a particular country has also removed my interest in the competition. Good luck to those who want to watch it though.
  19. It was Tai Woffinden, but we needed somebody to guest as Robert hadn't quite turned 16 IIRC.
  20. I don't necessarily think its that bad, but I would call it a team full of the unknown. I think we all know what Iversen will bring but the other six you just can't say. Mads & Robert could potentially add up to a couple of points each, Rory could struggle or pick up where he left off before injury, Wilko could be a good reserve given a full season as he has the experience and if Lewis can get back to his 2014 form he will be a very good number seven. Kai would have had an excellent season if he maintains his five but could easily drop to three given his inexperience. And as we all know Batchelor can be hot or cold The problem will be if he replaces Puk with no other strengthening. This team could have a good go at finishing top four or be joining Leicester down the bottom.
