  1. Indeed. To have even a sniff of qualifying we need the track to be nice and deep. Having it at the EoES is great news for those of us who live less than an hour away
  2. Excellent performances from the two Lynn lads, considering his inexpeience Darcy exceeded all expectations while Kozza finished as the highest placed non EL (including doubling up) rider. Roll on the U21 final
  3. Quite surprised that Holder isn't in a clear second place....third in the first round and only crept into today's A final through the back door where he was lucky to get second when Doyle crashed. Good to see Darcy & Kozza scoring in all of their races.
  4. Interesting that you have put those two so far down.....I know they are only going to go one way but I can't see them both dropping that far next year. And if they did I wouldn't rule out the possibility of one or both 'doing a Rickardsson', ie jacking it in when they know they ain't gonna win the thing, or even get on the rostrum.
  5. I thought Kozza's arm was supposed to be in plaster?
  6. Having Tai in the GP's for 2009 would have been ridiculous but I have to challenge that sentence of yours Steve. To average 11 in the CL at fifteen years old, then 9 in your first PL season at sixteen suggests that he is super talented. Further strides were taken this year (still just seventeen until recently) with a 10 point PL average, PLRC title, an excellent SWC debut and several decent scores as an EL guest. Sure he has struggled a bit on the continent but he is still very young and will improve again next year racing against the world's best more frequently. He may not match Noddy's debut EL average next season but don't forget he is two years behind him. The boy is the real deal and its a shame one or two are questioning this fact because of a bit of over exuberance from the wallies on Sky.
  7. Can see what you are saying M08 but Bomber's two best performances in the GP's came at Wroclaw and Cardiff in 2007 - both tracks had a decent amount of dirt and a few lumps and bumps. He was overtaking the very best in those meetings. Even this year at Cardiff he was competitive. It was mega slick ones like Byd, Lonigo and Eskilstuna where he really struggled. Would be nice if both parties could do their bit, ie Olsen put a bit more shale down and Bomber improve on his gating
  8. There are too many GP's now, thats the trouble. They need to cut it to around six to freshen the whole thing up. One each month from May-October would be plenty. Although I watch most of them and usually enjoy the racing, I just don't get that feeling of anticipation anymore when GP Saturday comes round. And the majority of the field should be there through qualification. Seed the top three through to the next year and leave one or maybe two wild card picks, but make the rest qualify.
  9. I think Holder may have shot himself in the foot by going public that he isn't ready for the GP series.
  10. I'm astonished that Bomber has crept in again. Good for him though, hopefully he can make a better fist of it in 2009.
  11. Can't see him being that bad. Will probably float somewhere around 9th.
  12. While you speak as much sense as anyone on here SCB you have the tendancy to generalise when referring to speedway fans in this country and it gets right up my nose. Some of us pay plenty of attention to what goes on in Europe and beyond (keeping the Speedway Star next to the khazi helps ) and you shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush
  13. I think you have hit the nail on the head mate; too much hype from people who should know better. People should be excitied by Tai for what he is going to achieve over the next two to three years, not sooner than that really. He is obviously not ready for the GP's yet and the wallys on Sky should realise that.
  14. Tai's inexperience was shown up last night but there is no doubt that his time will come in this competition. And he is still trememdously talented whatever anyone may say. Personally I would love to see the top three in next year's GP series but thats another debate entirely!
  15. I shall be there, plumping for this meeting over Norwich v QPR! Looking forward to the youngsters putting on a good show.
  16. Best idea yet. Then everyone would have to earn the right to be in it the following year.
  17. Thought the two Brits looked better tonight, although its probably too late to secure a spot for next year now. Can't see either of them in next year's series unless they really want a Brit in there, in which case Bomber may get the nod.
  18. A stone wall 'all four back' if ever there was one. I don't think we shall be seeing that referee on the GP circuit again. A great GP however on a proper speedway track for once. Thank God it rained to provide some grip otherwise we may well have had a typically slick Ole Olsen track with little passing. And well done Leigh Adams, a worthy winner.
  19. Spot on, Johnno is very funny as co-commentator and had me chuckling all the way through
  20. Possibly. More likely though that they are none good enough.
