  1. Not sure, however anything is possible with speedway contracts.... or so it seems. Regardless we replace one League winning Captain with another... ;-) Excellent. Will there be more good news for The Blue & Gold tomorrow...
  2. Terrific news. Especially given the news that Derek has been appointed captain. ... the positive news continues ... more to come?
  3. Solid performer. Will be interesting to see which berth in the team he will occupy at the start of the season. Fingers crossed for more good news in the coming days.
  4. The good news continues to flow in Edinburgh... from Edinburgh Monarchs Speedway website http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=1245 Solid signing number 2.
  5. Glad that Andrew has sorted a team place so quickly. Good luck I hope the move allows him to improve. He's shown he can shine on a variety of tracks over the years and he just needs to add a bit of consistency to his game. Easy for me to say harder to resolve. Regardless good luck chap.
  6. Bold moves by both rider and club alike. Good luck to both riders who have served Edinburgh very well over the years, I hope they get clubs lined up soon. Exciting times for Edinburgh Speedway. What a difference a couple of weeks make. With Wee Joe Tabaka already signed up for next year and most likely at reserve, team building has got off to a great start...
  7. As taken from Edinburgh Monarchs website http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=1241 Fingers crossed
  8. If John Campbell has made his mind up re stopping promoting Edinburgh Speedway (and you never know he may change his mind) I'd like to just add my thanks to him for his tremendous efforts over the years. I can only imagine the hours of effort, thinking, worry he has invested in the club over the years. I doubt many of us could cope with a week as a promoter never mind some 29 years. He's overseen the most successful period in the club's history and he will go down in Edinburgh Speedway history for this very reason, for which he should be very proud. Enjoy the rest John you deserve it.
  9. Did I read somewhere about an Alun Biggart that scouted riders for Belle Vue or is this a separate person?
  10. I thought Pedersen's actions after the first running of the 2nd semi final were a bit unnecessary but I guess he had to use every avenue open to him. That said it made good TV. The best man one in the end that's what mattered. Although the GP's wouldn't be the same without Nicki Pedersen he makes good TV.
  11. Thanks for that. Making all the right noises. Floodlights are the way forward.
  12. The first bend tussle had a feeling on inevitability about it. Pedersen's best bet for winning the world title was if Holder didn't make it to the final, I think that may have entered into the equation.
  13. Good news, very good news. Very healthy turn out. Any further information available for common consumption? Who are the new owners? Team plans? Stadium plans? Track plans?
  14. Chops I don't think so. I don't knoiw for sure but I think it may have been Jack Holder. I thought he was trying to usher Nicki away... nothing more.
  15. Congratulations to the best rider within the toughest series to date. Well Done Chris Holder.
  16. Good luck to both. I hope Chris Holder wins it. He's provided many of the memorable moments of this season's competition. Plus he always comes across well on the TV when interviewed. He'll be good value for many years to come.
  17. Probably a fair result all things considered. I must admit that Birks and Irving have improved a great deal over the last couple of seasons and are very entertaining riders. I know the Edinburgh riders would obviously have liked to have performed a bit better but it looks like the season is catching up with them a little but well done on reaching the play offs and cup semi. It's not all lost... keep plugging away.
  18. Here here GG. Edinburgh asked for a similar fan response on the back of a financially poor 2010 season. They asked the fans to turn out on a wet and windy mid week night in Livingston to show support for the club and thankfully enough of us turned up to encourage the promotion to keep going. If no one turns up on Saturday I guess the new promotion have a difficult choice to make.
  19. Well done to Scunny. Edinburgh didn't really turn up as a team today by the looks of things. Joe scored very well. Cookie getting injured again didn't help but whether he'd have made the difference I don't know.
  20. Good luck to The Mighty Monarchs and Scunny today, let the best team win. Let's hope for a classic speedway match with all riders staying safe. All results seem a possibility and if Wee Joe remembers the quickest way around the Scunny track he might make the difference today. #getintathem
  21. So frustrating for the promotion (I live) ten miles down the road and it's bone dry!!
