  1. Not sure if he's eligible to ride but would love if THJ qualified and Kolodziej and Artem Laguta to go through, GP's need some more fresh blood. See what Holder has added this year the guys above I think could add to the entertainment.
  2. Decent meeting. Good racing from Holta. Gollob a bit squirrily at the start of the final. I hope Emil recovers soon, and hope that Gollob's hand injury isn't bad. Disappointing commentary again, with some silly references to the Gollob crash.
  3. DavyH I personally thought that this opportunity was a bit early for the wee man, but he's held his own quite well, so far. Bit of a blip in his 4th ride but his effort against God was pretty damn good.
  4. Team Gb were largely a 3 ish man team Harris, Richardson and Woffinden a bit, and the only one of that trio that will improve is Woffinden IMO. And beyond them I don't really see any other real talent coming through. Team GB will be floundering for a few years yet, especially given the number of quality Polish riders that are coming through. The dark horses for the future most definitely the Russians.
  5. I agree. Should have been all 4 back. Sadly referee and Sky commentators (with the notable exception of Sam Ermolenko) showing their bias.
  6. Felt sorry for Gollob just when it looked like he was going to lay his Cardiff bogey to rest, the bike chucks it.... Thoroughly enjoyable speedway meeting, with the occasional boxing contest breaking out. Aussie pits and Danish pits could be interesting in the World Cup. Holder rode well and took advantage of the good luck that came his way.
  7. I like your thinking my friend. Good option. Thanks very much for the info.
  8. Mmmm that's what I feared... perhaps an individual meeting to fill the gap?
  9. I wonder if someone would be so kind as to inform me if there is a speedway meeting on in Gdansk on the weekend of 7/8 Aug?
  10. I'm sure the Polish fans would make themselves heard. If there was a Scotsman in the field, we'd make ourselves heard. IMO airhorn noise doesn't constitute an atmosphere.
  11. ...and you forgot to mention the Cardiff version of the Vuvuzela's i.e. airhorns. Whatever happened to creating an atmosphere with good old vocal chords? Until they're banned I won't be back.
  12. Super track Super stadium Super Fans Super Winner Just hold all the GP's in Poland... but hey I guess you can get too much of a good thing.
  13. The Poles do things correctly. Did you hear the mention to the Mighty Edinburgh Monarchs as well, kwality... ? Really looking forward to this afternoon's action.
  14. ML Just remember that Tomasz McGollob is simply the most entertaining rider currently anywhere in world speedway.
  15. I hope Gollob's performance last night (and in Gothenburg) will be repeated until the season end. The decision in the semi final is obviously controversial, and there will always be opposing views for these kind of moments. Personally, I prefer to remember heat 14, in which, I believe only the Big Man could have achieved the race win, in those track conditions.
  16. Phew... hats off to all the riders for making a go of the Gothenburg GP, I thought we'd gone all that way for a rain off. Track was obviously different from the one on offer at practice, the day before, as was the weather and that may have thrown a few riders a curve ball on their set up. It's a shame the weather intervened as the latter races showed what could have been on offer for the other more processional races. That said, well done to Bjerre, even though he prevented my e/w bet on Tomasz McGollob coming to full fruition. Interesting (like Pawel115 said) that Bjerre is one of very few riders still using Jawa (Woffinden was another and I think Lindgren uses them some of the time, the latter according to the programme) Shame about the crowd size. As for the Harris/Andersen crash, at real time speed it was a toughy and my initial instinct on seeing the replay was it's Andersen's fault but from one of the angles shown in the stadium (and I guess on TV) Harris seemed in control after Andersen had passed him until he hit a rut and then bailed out.
  17. Thanks again for the information. Although with Scottish airports announcing that they will be closed tomorrow (due to the ash) it's looking more doubtful that I'll actually get into Sweden by Saturday. My flight is Thursday so keep your fingers crossed.
  18. Is there a bookmaker in the Ullevi stadium or near it that'll quote odds for the Gothenburg GP? Ta
  19. Not that I'm looking for it to happen, but does Greg Hancock's non-appearance mean he will be banned?
