  1. Incompetent referee, dodgy management - they're big accusations to make. When a facility is given (and I have no details of the circumstances surrounding that), the referee and both team managers will be advised and will check the validity of the teams taking that into account. By all means try to ascertain who allowed the facility and why, but aim your criticism in the right direction.
  2. Frank was referee for my first meeting as Team Manager, he certainly stood for no nonsense. His rider briefing was akin to a military lecture!
  3. Re Redcar v Glasgow, see http://www.scbgb.co.uk/news.php?extend.62
  4. Let's not forget the Workington promotion who were clearly happy with the facility too.
  5. I missed part of the interview but the implication was that it was the ACU.
  6. SCB clearly disputes it or there wouldn't be this meaningless thread. It was stated at today's meeting that Chris was instructed to attend the Masters in preference to the league meeting.
  7. A facility has clearly been agreed for Chris' absence so there's no question of a ban.
  8. www.peterboroughpanthers.co A mouth-watering head-to-head clash of two of the biggest stars in the SGB Championship is in store today. Number one Jack Holder returns to the 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers side as they entertain Workington at the East of England Arena (5pm). And the Australian ace is set for a series of match-ups against the rider with the best average in the second tier of the sport - Comets main man Craig Cook. The two headline attractions will meet in heat one and heat 13 with another tussle highly likely in the finale as well - and they are races that Peterborough owner Ged Rathbone is convinced with thrill the Alwalton faithful. "It's great to have Jack back in the team," said Rathbone. "He's been an absolute star this season and a real treat to watch at the East of England Arena. "We were confident he could progress while riding for Peterborough and that has definitely been the case. "He has firmly established himself as one of the top men in the SGB Championship and I'm certainly looking forward to him doing battle with 'Cookie'. "We know all about Craig's quality after his efforts for us last season - and he has gone on to enjoy plenty of success this year. "He was a deserving winner of the British title and did superbly in the GP Challenge. He's got the best average of any rider in this league as well, but I know that Jack - and the rest of our boys for that matter - will be determined to beat him." While one of Peterborough's top men in Holder return today, another is missing. Chris Harris competes in a major grasstrack meeting and the rider replacement facility will be in operation. Harris actually rode against Workington last night when guesting for Newcastle in a 45-45 draw at Derwent Park. New Zealand champion Bradley Wilson-Dean slots back into the Panthers fold after a spell out with wrist trouble, while the visitors have a doubt over Mason Campton after he withdrew for their deadlock against the Diamonds last night. Rathbone added: "Ourselves and Workington are very similar in that our league campaigns have not panned out as we hoped. "But we're determined to finish on a high and make sure we build momentum to have a real go at winning the KO Cup. "The goal is to pick up more silverware after the fabulous day when we won the Fours and we showed we're getting back on track with the win against Glasgow last weekend. "A lot has happened over the last few weeks which caused our attention be side-tracked from the job of winning speedway meetings, but we've re-focused and we won't allow any outside factors to distract us again." TEAMS PETERBOROUGH: Tom Bacon, Rider replacement for Chris Harris, Jack Holder, Simon Lambert, Ulrich Ostergaard, Paul Starke, Bradley Wilson-Dean. WORKINGTON: Mason Campton, Craig Cook, Thomas Jorgensen, Jake Knight (guest), Ty Proctor, James Sarjeant, Matt Williamson.
  9. The rules? As Chris Harris isn't Peterborough's No1, the facility is RR if no other rider is absent.
  10. An accident in Heat 2 of the second meeting has led to three of the four reserves being withdrawn. Hardly farcical or amateurish.
  11. Disciplinary matters within the sport are the remit of the SCB, not the BSPA.
  12. The transfer of a Club asset in no way diminishes our constant efforts as the Club's promoters to return the Bees to the track.
  13. Sheffield confirmed the difficulty in getting guests last night, they also used two juniors in their astonishing win at Glasgow.
  14. On 31st August new green sheets were issued effective 4th September, but with a note that Chris Harris' new average was effective from 31st August. Scott Nicholls' converted average of 8.84 now exceeded Chris' 8.32 and also Jack Holder's 8.78 hence he wasn't eligible to ride at Workington. At home tomorrow the 5% uplift on home riders' averages allows Scott to guest for Jack.
  15. If it's half as good as the Newcastle A fixture it will be very worthwhile attending!
  16. Jim was also at Belle Vue for a time.
  17. There's more than one... HenryW is quite right, Craig Cook has not yet qualified for the 2018 series (although his participation seems likely) - injuries are far from unknown in Speedway.
  18. The top four is looking pretty clear now, on a +/- basis the league rankings are: Sheffield +28 Glasgow +22 Ipswich +11 Edinburgh +9 Redcar +3 Workington +1 Peterborough = Newcastle -5 Scunthorpe -12 Berwick -25
  19. The provision for a long-term injury replacement after the deadline doesn't appear in this year's Rulebook.
  20. I agree that if the R1 KOC scores were to be included the first GSAs could have been issued considerably sooner than they were. To include anything other than league fixtures in the GSAs would be a flagrant disregard of the regulations, is there any evidence that it did in fact happen?
  21. The first 2017 averages were issued once all Premiership Clubs had completed 4h and 4a, Swindon were the last to complete I believe.
