  1. so were positive cutouts . solid block tyres and carb throat restrictors . how long did any of those compulsory items last ? . I'm guessing from your eagerness to promote them ,Briggs is involved somewwhere along the way ,
  2. Just the same as the positive killswitch , solid block tyres , carb restrictors , foisted on the riders untested ,by people who don't have a clue about the effect , all things brought about with little or no thought , and all things that got dumped after somebody else had the expense of buying them , I forgot to say , the GP riders don't bother testing them because they have no intention of ever using them .
  3. not many hold them full on , half to 3/4 then let the clutch out and give it full throttle , when taters was the worlds best gater he used to say a fast start happens in the first 3 yards by feathering the clutch and throttle to make it grip , full throttle from the start will just help to dig a hole .
  4. We'll see how many are in favour when they have to start using them , my guess is it will be the people who make or sell them that will be all for them and nobody else , the FIMs knowledge of speedway could be written on a postage stamp , and the fact that you suggest the working party thinks that the operation of a speedway bikes engine can be lumped in with other forms of motorcycle sport is a more than adeqaute demonstration of that . imposing a potentially dangerous piece of equipment without proper testing or approval from the people who have to use it is another one ,
  5. if its not going to kick in other than the start , ( most are not even revving full out at the start anyway ) hows it going to save any engine wear ,. Unban titanium which gains extra power by allowing higher revs but costs the earth , then bring in a new untried piece of clobber (no doubt another expensive piece of junk ) to prevent what you assisted by un banning titanium .. somethings stinks here . can't wait to see who's behind this money maker
  6. one mans loss is another mans gain , I'm sure the flat trackers will grasp the opportunity , handed to them by the BSPA
  7. Problem with that is " They " just follow you ,to whatever thread you choose . start slinging opersonal abuse and when they get some back try to be the victim .
  8. Jason pipe taking somebody elses idea and making it look amateuristic , now theres a surprise !
  9. I can't add up . just like you are unable to see the point I was making
  10. not available or bike not running is the best way for whitmore to score points . at least it gives some of the youngsters a few extra rides .maybe not a bad plan
  11. no it leaves the team 3.5 under . half on the total alllowances total .and whitmores 3 = 3.5 points they definitely won't be getting
  12. It's Penhall , and I agree looking like Mickey the Monkey from the Gyppo camp , may be a factor .
  13. Depends on whether you view Ivan as a sppedway rider or 7 times world champion sportsman , for me he was both but the undeniable fact is he was a great sportsman abd as such should have have a mention on a program which is based ,,supposedly on sporting achievement . Myself i complained to the BBC Online ,didn't even warrant an auto response
  14. anodise is only microns thick , it wont cover the old shale rash . powder is not much thicker but it covers rough stuff better and it tougher
  15. you need an adaptor for the dial guage . and its rather too complex an operation to explain by text .better off to go to a track and ask if theres anyone who can show you , you definitiely need to get it right to get you in the ballpark , because if you dont ,it either wont start or it will chuck that much fuel in it will wash the bore and sieze
  16. should be prepared to take £20 a meeting more like , £20 a point for a scratcher like Halder that means max Clegg would get more over 2 grand a meeting paid out in points money ,
  17. newprt had a great shaped track for racing .but the surface was always poor ,slick and potholed ,nice stand which sadly was never properly comlpleted , decent changing rooms and rerasonable pits , one of the problems with it was Tim Stone himself . heart 100% in speedway ,but an utter meglomaniac , we used to go to southern track events there that dragged on for hours and hours ,because he wouldn't let anyone help him , instead of letting somebody drive the water truck while he graded he had to do both . and every 4 heats , in a meeting that has 60 heats that's a very long time , I have heard only second hand mind ,that he pissed off sponsors because he was a little arrogant , having said that . a bloke who is prepared to collect supermarket trollies and put the money into his speedway team , maybe he had felt he had a right to say his piece ,
  18. Ronnie Moore MBE , Ivan Mauger OBE, Get on the BBC website and complain , I already have , lets see if we can get an apology
  19. This is not the first time Judas has done this , and even when he has stuck with the team he chose he only rides when he feels like it , why does he keep getting tem places ? lets start a team Dean , offer him big money m then once all the other teams are complete , say we have had a better offer so goodbye
  20. There was more involved in newports closing than the cost of the toll . something very very dodgy to do with the promotion and their transport business , i can't remember what it was ,but the pervert SCB knew what it was , and blamed I a member of these forums for colluding in the closure
  21. Dissapointing to see young Jack left out , similar with Andy Mellish . with a team like like Colts being a second team . riders who are A , popular with the fans ,B, have some sort of local draw to put as many bums onseats as possible are needed to help bring people in , throughout the league there are riders left out who ,were I an NL promoter would be first on my shopping list , and others who have team places that I wouldn't give the time of day to .
  22. I dont think anybody other than the BSPA wants it . not the fans not the the riders not the Nl promoters ,and if you are to create a league which is purely for the purpose of development , then you have to have a system where the developed riders can go afterwards and get a decent run at it . as it is the gap between NL and championship is too big ,and if you make the step up you will most likely be replaced within weeks by an untried foreigner
