they have moved the track the width of the old track about 30 feet ? just shows how desperate they are to fit as many rabbit hutches in as possible , this is just a guess from an old cynic ,but I sincerely hope I'm wrong , smaller track, Portakabin stadium , lifespan of 5 years , while they work on closing it and building more rabbit hutches over it. more than likely already have a plan for Stadium Avenue drawn up ,

2019 Dev League Regs
adonis replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
far too simple . are you forgetting this is speedway we are talking about . some people will take every opportunity to cheat or use their position for spite , even when they have moved on having used the league as a stepping stone . -

sounds like somebody is making rules up to suit themselves ,or more to the point to not suit somebody else ,, -
7 teams in M+SDL in 2019 plus squads
adonis replied to Speedway fan's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
It wouldn't bother me if any ghost team didn't have a snowballs of finding a new home , Lets face it if Coventry bees can't .what chance has Milton keynes got , The idea of the league is to provide a stepping stone to a team place ,somewhere they are fortunate enough to have a track/Team , what does it matter If MK or anybody else runs a team and provides new riders for established teams , the MDL in it's glory days ,before it was mismanaged and mistreated having served it's purpose for some , was a production line ,the like of which I had never seen before and am unlikely to see again -

What matches had the biggest attendance in Speedway history?
adonis replied to Kempol's topic in Years Gone By

I used to go roller skating at granby halls , saw status quo there, and an ideal home exhibition ,Peters and Lee appeared a couple of times during the day on a small stage , Sadly the whole place is now a car park for the Tigers rugby

A friend of mine started talking to him at mallory park ,he had no idea about his music career and couldn't understand why people were paying him so much attention , then he asked him why are these people staring and Keith said it will be because I'm a twisted firestarter , mate says he was a nice bloke , R.I.P Keith Flint .

It was long after 2011 that Sandhu promised to find somewhere else , only a fool or group of fools would believe anything he said

is anybody interested in MDL any more
adonis replied to adonis's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
even if there were . I would not want to see it . the MDL has been devalued enough with the inclusion of absolute no hopers , lets not make it into Billy smarts circus with cobbled together teams made up of anyone who owns any sort of speedway bike , this year is the death knell of amateur/development racing , so make the most of it -
Did they sell it to Sandhu .or did Sandhu buy somebody elses share and it was out of their hands ?, anyway I don't consider it worthwhile debating with someone who posts and obviously believes every word of Sandhus spin . If you want to blame the Ochiltrees fine by me . you'll get no further argument ,because i have better things to do with my time , I'll see you in the new stadium that Sandhu swore to find for his beloved Bees , perhaps you could remind him i think he's forgot to look for somehwere

do you believe everything that Sandhus PR dept posts on his behalf ? personally I have never read such a load of bullrubbish and lies , the only bit that's true is he bought it with intention of building houses on it . it's taken longer than he expected .but he's got his way in the end .

Just seen that Milton Keynes have managed to secure a home for MDL this year At brum / having seen the announcement of their squad . especailly who has been named captain . I no lionger have any interest in MDL , 39 year olds who have been in mdl for at least 5 years and have still got 0 point averages hold no interest for me I'm afraid -
BSB used it but the tarmac shredded their tyres so nobody wanted to ride there ,

you can hardly blame them , when Sandhu arrived he was going to invest money which the stadium badly needed , but only once he was in did he reveal his true intention . and all his subsequent promises to ensure the bees had somewhere to race came to nothing , he never even looked at a single site , because he never had any intention of seeing the bees keep running . Only complete idiots believe he ever intended to see anythiung oithers than houses and money

and he was also involved with a v8 stock car series ,that rivalled formula 1 and eventually merged with Brisca F1 . I stumbled on that this afteroon while i was looking for the press release about the plan for the banked oval aT brandon . sods law I cant find it when i want it . but Ill keep searching . managed to find this on Wiki , Kirimaa was also a championship wiining driver over many years , No mention on his bio of Rebels cars though ,strange that A letter from BriSCA had been sent to the Hotstox drivers informing them that BriSCA no longer wished to be involved with the Hotstox as long as Kath Lomax was part of the organisation. Whether this stance was in support of Phil Haigh or as a direct reply to Kath Lomax's continued requests for proper treatment of the Hotstox at various tracks or because she resisted joining BriSCA is unclear. The Lomax's regrettably resigned from a formula they had been involved with for nearly 10 years. The whole committee then stood down and BriSCA requested that the Hotstox form a Board of Control to enable an easier integration into BriSCA. Plain and simply, BriSCA did not wish to work with Kath Lomax any longer and Kath honorably stood aside. The new committee was led by Hans Kirimaa.

And I know that there was once a plan to put a half mile banked oval round the outside of brandon , the proposal meant taking the backstraight terracing out . and the track extending out of each end of the stadium to the end of the stadium footprint , the speedway would then be on the infield and the only viewing would be from the main grandstand . there was an outline plan displayed at the time . sounds mad Don't it ? , well thats what everybody thought at the time . and the penny must have dropped with with the promotion because MR Kirimaa the investor disappeared almost as fast as he arrived , there must be plenty of folk who remember the proposal , so Ill just wait until someone else posts . at least I wont be waiting with my foot in my mouth ,like somebody else is
-
That Indy loop was once destined to be built round the outside of Brandon . mr kirimaa a german businessman bought into Coventry with that as the plan , sadly that was the beginning of the end ,because when he moved on he sold his share to Sandhu , the rest is history

Shane Parker used to take a loads of stuff home for the winter and come back without much of it , but the last few times he went he said the customs took invenetory as you wnet in and if you didn't have it all coming out you needed a good reason or big bills ensued for import duty

better than green which only lasted as long as it took for everybody to buy green ones , most riders already have plain yellow , as just like wearing pyjamas instead of leathers , easy and cheap to produce and a quick buck for manufacturers ,

when speedway was flourishing .although it was only 15 minutes of racing , it was 2 or more hours of an event , the anticiptaion of your top rider taking on theirs , the atmosphere from the minute you arrived at the stadium , banter on the terraces , local rivalry , and of course characters , go back to the days of Sean Wilsion Roman Matousek , anything could happen before during or after a race . speedway now is a clincal expeerience . get them in ,dole out the minimum in the shortest time to take their money , and hope they may come back next week , provided of course theres enough roders in the country to provide some speedway or they find out about it through connections , because they sure wont be seeing any fixtures in the local paper , my guess is 90% of people on the terraces go out of habit , a habit that is broken with a disjointed fixture list , and as In my own experience an easy one to break ,it only took 1 week and I wouldn't have bothered if I never went again ,thats after being a regular for 55 years
