World Cup Round 2
youngy105 replied to SNoB147's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The next 2 meetings have to have neutral referees. Tony Steele could do the race-off and A.N.Other not from any of the 4 countries in the Final could ref that one. Heat 25....A rider can win his country the World Cup by gaining a solitary point. From the start he goes down on his own at the first bend.....the referee is from his country..........do you honestly think he would exclude him?..........I think not. And please can we have a consistent referee....Holta's exclusion was harsh and Rickardsson's Spanish Archer (El Bow) escape were just unbelievable. -
I think Heat 25 was a reminder to us all what Speedway is all about and why we love it.

Congratulations Team GB That was one hell of a performance from all 5 of them. Screenie, Stead-Fast, Rico, Scotty and Bomber you can be very proud of yourselves tonight. Dilemma for Middlo though if Loramski is back to full fitness for Saturday.........me personally I'd keep the same 5.

That one has been flogged to death so let's just leave it. Jason didn't let himself down that night in Cardiff it was his mechanic who as an adult made his own decision to do what he did. I wouldn't say there was one particular reason JC isn't going so well, 2nd in the Championships can't be that bad can it, but a number of things. Machinery is not nearly as fast as TRick, his gating this year has let him down a number of times even at Kirky Lane. Never ever write him off though.....you write Jason Crump off at your own peril.

Didn't Siggy go on to win the World Powerboat Championship with Bruce Penhall after he quit shale-shifting. If Dennis Sigalos was, not saying he is going to, to make a comeback in the EL any ideas who would own his contract...............none other than Belle Vue. The same would apply to Preben Eriksen, Larry Kosta if they too were to make a comeback. Have a look here Who Does Own Dennis Sigalos's Contract? to find out just how that is.

I was thinking of getting that video but the £14.99 asking price put me off a bit.....would you say it's value for money?

try Speedway Videos and do a search for exactly that (speedway videos)....there was one on a while back selling a history of Bristol Speedway Video

erm...i have already bought mine thanks....not all us northerners are tight a**es you know.......just thought I'd mention it that's all.....no need for a slanging match. -
For anyone without tickets to Cardiff buy a copy of The Sun today for your chance to win one of 10 pairs of tickets. It also has a little interview with the answer to the question (hint hint) The question is really simple....Who is the current World Champion? For anyone stuck read the bottom of this post for the answer. It's a hotline thingy so calls will probably cost 50p per minute.

The Big One: Cardiff 2005
youngy105 replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Says something about Crumpie that everyone is predicting him to make the final. I personally think he'll win it this year. TRick to come second, Adams will finish third and possibly Nicholls to come fourth. Can't see Floppy or Rico producing the good though as a Brit I would like to see them up there in the semi's. Hopefull Bjerre (If Riding) will have a good meeting. -
"" Official Gp Merchandise "
youngy105 replied to Namron's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The 'Official' GP merchandise is rubbish IMO. Tacky and cheap looking if you ask me. The riders own merchandise is by far miles better and probably cheaper too. -
Ken Wrench without a doubt...his voice is synonomous with Belle Vue

I've got The Peter Collins Farewell Meeting on Video....at that stage Hyde Road was looking rather derelict but the track was still awesome...Got all the Aces of Yesteryear videos and The 83 Northern Riders (the extended version that was shown on Granada). Got a match from 1982 I think between the Aces and Cradley. Got the 86 and 87 BLRC's but the quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Guys and Girls....would you rather have the annoying sound effects or no GP on TV at all.....think about it.
-
Going on the coach from Belle Vue on the Saturday morning. Sitting above the pits (i think)....where does everyone meet up...would be nice to put faces to names and have a good banter and drink (obviously). Oh...and Jason Crump will defend his title.

Grand Prix Tickets
youngy105 replied to falconnet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sitting on the first bend, I think, just above where the riders come out on track. Ordered them as soon as they were made available on speedwayworld.tv. Think it then went through to a website called seeme.com or something similar. Ordered them on my Dad's PC and he's got all the info and the swine is in Cuba at the moment........Think I'll need to start worrying around 4th June. -
Grand Prix Tickets
youngy105 replied to falconnet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Did anyone else order their tickets via Speedwayworld.tv and not receive them. I ordered mine not late last year and they are yet to arrive. Hope they ain't lost in the post as it's not long until the British GP. -
This Gp Track Is Rubbish
youngy105 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Everyone is talking about Nicki P's move on Crumpie. IMO hard but fair riding but what about Nicki's move on Hancock. Sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me when I saw him hit him going into the bend. Fair play to Greg for staying on the bike cos if he'd have gone down Mr.Steele would surely have exculded Nicki P... -
He's still rattling up the points up in Sweden though from what I've heard. I remember his debut World Final at Odsal in 1990. If I remember right (though I'm probably wrong) didn't he eventually finish third due to FIM stripping 'Shooey' of second place.

Glad you got the discs Falcace...hope it helps (and hope it's the right one). When is the book due for release and where will it be available from. I can't order anything online as I don't and won't have a credit card.

My Top 4 Tonight: 1. Jason Crump 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Tomasz Gollob 4. Leigh Adams Does anyone know if this is available for viewing on the web. I know you can premiership football on the web (i.e the saturday 3pm matches) and was just wondering as this is Speedways premier event it may be streamed onto the net.

Norbold....i will gladly purchase a copy. As long as my acknowledgement is in there that will do for me. Just glad I could be of assistance.

Had an e-mail from 'FalcAce' and I'm going to get a credit in this book as I'm providing footage from the 1973 England Sweden Daily Mirror Tournament Final....does that mean I also get a free copy. Can't wait to see my name in print.
