Giving it a miss this year due to becoming a Father again in May. Gutted I'm not going though. -
German Gp Any One Going
youngy105 replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thinking of spending a few days in Amsterdam before the GP. Trains to Gelsenkirchen are no problem but getting back is a bit of a nightmare. Anyone have any ideas the best way to get back to amsterdam after the GP? -

2007 Swc - Who's In For Who?

If seeding were to take place then the defending champions should be seeded along with the country where the final will take place whether that be Poland, Britain, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic. If for instance the final is to be held in the country of the defending champions then whoever was runner up the previous year should be the nation who is seeded. -
That's a bit harsh isn't it. I don't think Steady was out of his depth last year. He got the rough end of the stick a few times going into the first bend but was never off the pace compared to PePe who was embarassing at Cardiff last year. I think the wildcard should go to whoever has the highest average out of the non GP riding Brits (that'll be 99.9% of them) whether it be Simon Stead, Eddie Kennett, Lewis Bridger, David Norris, James Wright, Will Lawson or whoever. It should be awarded on merit not on future potential...as we all know not all riders reach their potential.

Well done Bomber. Some great racing from you tonight and you did us English proud. Hope you score zero when you next ride at Belle Vue though -
Who Should Ride For The Uk In The Wtc?
youngy105 replied to bazaar3's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Does it matter...we're not going to win it anyway. Middlo will make the decision when the time comes. -
Belle Vue.......if I recall correctly. Got that match on video somewhere. Didn't it go down to a last heat decider with Mr Belle Vue (Jason Lyons) passing both Gollob and Rickardsson to ensure victory for the mighty Aces.

GP Chit Chat - Harris

Good luck Bomber. I still think Steady should have got the nod but I don't make the decisions. I wish Bomber all the best in the 2007 GP series but hope against Belle Vue he scores 2 & 3 points respectively. -
Just watched heat 1 and how well did Steady go. Looks like he's gonna be top Brit in 2007.

If I'm right didn't Mort set the Hyde Road track record during the Northern Riders Championship of that year. It was one of the heats not shown on the Granada programme that followed shortly after. No shock at the result though...a Belle Vue 1-2-3. Morton, P Collins, P Carr. Crumpie set the KL track record during the 'controversial' televised match against Ipswich....that will probably never be lowered.

Sgp/swc Official Attendances
youngy105 replied to TwoMinuteWarning's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Daugavpils or whatever it's called (the latvian GP) would have been well attended due to it being a new round of the SGP circus. As we now know the track was terrible and it was possibly the worst GP of 2006. Be very interesting to know if the attendance is 9,000 this year. -
TBH.....I think it's a fair and honest decison that Leigh has made. You can't knock his talents on a bike and the way he presents himself is fantastic. I just think Leigh lacks the cutting edge to be World Champion. I do believe he is not ruthless enough when it counts...I don't mean resorting to dirty riding I just mean he lacks that oomph required to win a World Title. Good Luck Leigh with whatever decision you come to.

How long did it take to arrive? I ordered mine on Thursday (16th) and wasn't given any delivery info on the e-mail receipt I got. -
For help with the Jason Crump ones try HERE He is a regular track photographer at Belle Vue.

Could have slipped in a speedway reference somewhere amongst all that text.

Poll
youngy105 replied to Dan the Production Man's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Count me in. I'd order it but I'd skip the 2005 British GP.......Crump was robbed. -
Besides my uncle Alan Armstrong I'd like to see articles on ex Belle Vue riders. Riders such as: Shawn and Kelly Moran Peter Ravn Richie Musson Carl Blackbird Kenny McKinna Declan Eccles Glenn Hornby

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but follow the link: http://www.xtremespeedwayaction.com/usaworldvideopage.htm to watch footage of Crumpie riding in the states recently. Also features ex-Aces Brian Karger, Steve Johnston, Mike Faria and Charlie Venegas. Be warned though....it does also feature the Davidsson sisters.

Chris Harris in the GP '07
youngy105 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why is it great news for Belle Vue that 'Bomber' is in the GP's? Congratulations Chris and wish you all the best for the 2007 GP.
