Big Big thank you to PTW for the texts and thanks for popping in.
  3. Just want to wish Billy Forsberg good luck in these meetings. Billy rode real well for Belle Vue last night scoring 14+1 from 6 rides.
  4. In his 3 seasons at Belle Vue Kenneth was very introverted and kept himself to himself. He had a great season for us in 2005 and was unlucky to injure himself towards the end of that season. In 2006 when he came back he wasn't the same rider. Some of his performances were very disappointing and he was being beat by riders he should easily beaten. Kenneth was partnered with Joe Screen for most of last season and it's fair to say the 2 of them did not see eye to eye. Joe was quite vocal at one stage last season. I would not say Kenneth is a dangerous rider, on occasions, whilst at BV, we were willing him to be that bit tougher at times. The only reason Kenneth isn't popular amongst Aces supporters is not down to his riding. He was at the dinner dance last year and publicly stated he would be at Belle Vue in 2007. Two weeks later (or something similar) his signing was announced on the Peterborough website. A lot of Belle Vue supporters were annoyed at his lack of loyalty. I'm not saying Kenneth had to stay at Belle Vue but a lot of supporters were angered at the fact they had contributed funds to help him whilst he was injured and he repaid them by wanting a move away.
  5. 1-0 to me tigerblues. I'd assume it's Leigh as Adams was off gate 3.
  6. Also.......does anyone know who Leigh Nicholls is? According to Millard he lined up in Gate 4 of the second semi final.
  7. Both riders got up very quickly didn't they? I guess that would explain why the red lights didn't come on.
  8. Apologies for not mentioning that only from where I was stood I didn't see it. A point of interest is that Jason Garrity, the 14 year old Belle Vue mascot clocked a time of 62.7 seconds which was faster than all the Academy League matches. This came straight after he had a nasty high-side too.
  9. Belle Vue Colts 1. Ben Hopwood - 3 3 3 = 9 Max 2. Gareth Isherwood - 2* 2* 2* = 6+3 Paid Max 3. Ben Taylor - 3 2* 2* = 7+2 Paid Max 4. Scott Richardson - 2* 3 3 = 8+1 Paid Max Somerset Giants 1. Brendan Johnson - 0 0 = 0 2. Kyle Newman - 1 1 1 1 = 4 3. Tom Hill - 1 1 0 = 2 4. Oliver Gay - F F 0 = 0 Heat 1 - Hopwood, Isherwood, Newman, Johnson. 63.0 Heat 2 - Taylor, Richardson, Hill, Gay (Fell). 63.3 Heat 3 - Hopwood, Isherwood, Hill, Gay (Fell). 63.1 Heat 4. Richardson, Taylor, Newman, Johnson. 64.0 Heat 5. Richardson, Isherwood, Newman, Gay. 63.1 Heat 6. Hopwood, Taylor, Newman, Hill. 63.9 All races were over by the end of the first lap as the Colts pairings just gated and went. The Colts riders were winning the races half a lap in front of the Somerset matches.
  10. Steady rides for Start Gniezno in the Polish First Division which is their equivalent of our Premier League. Steady rode for Torun in the Polish Extraleague in 2005 and 2006 but didn't do that many meetings for them so I'm unawares if he's ever ridden at Leszno. No point laying the blame at one persons feet....they were all rubbish.....management included.
  11. Thanks. Look forward to receiving mine in tomorrows post (hopefully) unless they decide to strike again cos they want 4 biscuits on a tea break
  12. In a nutshell....NO. He's failed the past however many years so I can't see this year being any different. Hopefully we'll go straight through to the final. Team selection is a bit off. Simon Stead is very short on confidence at the moment after 2 horrific crashes this season and Ed Kennett is not a Coventry specialist as has been pointed out to me....though in fairness he does deserve his chance due to the great season he's having. Denmark or Poland to win it.
  13. I'd stick my neck out and say either Martin Smolinski or Christian Hefenbrock will be the wild card.
  14. Payment has cleared for my copy of this so I'm counting the days the postman pops it through the door. I was unable to attend this year due to becoming a Father again (see Speedway Star June 23rd Edition Page 27) and it was excellent to watch live on Sky. The Dvd I recorded starts to freeze round the time of the semi-finals so the final is really difficult to watch.
  15. Most of the reports are almost on the back page which can only be good for the sport. In the Daily Mirror the reporter has written that Bomber comes down to earth tomorrow with a league match in Sweden and then Coventry at home to HULL on Thursday...........surely she has the team name wrong? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/motorsport/2...89520-19390448/
  16. Love the quote at the end of the article...Beat That Lewis Hamilton. He never will. Great report and about bl**dy time.
  17. Thanks for that Mr Shovlar........I shall be tuning in.
  18. You can pre-order this on dvd from 2007 British GP - Go Bomber. Bargain
  19. Gutted for Steady.....had hoped he would have progessed from this round.
  20. From a GB point of view Well Done Bomber..........some great, gutsy and clever riding. From a Belle Vue point of view Well Done Anton on your 7 points.....same on Monday will do nicely.
  21. Thanks for that but we have found cheap flights from Dusseldorf to Manchester on the Sunday after the GP.
  22. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. Seems Ivan Mauger is behind plans to introduce the sport to Malaysia.
