  1. Quite a well thought out post there...well put as well. I never said I represented the people. I do not represent the people and don't wish to represent the people but someone said, you I believe, Nicholls was the people's champion. There are many on here who love Nicholls and there are just as many who don't. For me personally I don't have an opinion either way on him. He's not my favourite but I don't dislike him either. IMO Scott is currently the best British rider but has massively underachieved on the World Stage. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure people will, but didn't Nicholls state that if he didn't automatically qualify from this years GP he would go through the qualifiers in 2007. As the old saying goes it's time to put or shut up. If that is what Scott said then he should honour that and prove to us all what a world class rider he can be. I just feel IMO giving him a wildcard for 2007 isn't progress at all and that is what speedway so badly needs to do. As a sport it needs to progress rather than being stuck in the mud and set in it's ways. Read the following about Nicholls preparation for the Bydgoszcz GP. It's about halfway down the page. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=29343
  2. Get real....Sky covered and pushed the GP's before Nicholls and I'm pretty sure they'll do it once he's gone. It won't be in 2007 as he will get another wildcard which IMO is wrong. He has failed in the past how many seasons to get a seeded spot, time for a change and give the youngsters, Harris and Stead, a chance. Maybe they won't pull up any trees but then again neither has Nicholls or Richardson. I'm not saying I represent 'the people' but Nicholls isn't the people's champion. He's the British Champion, sure, but apart from that nothing else. He certainly isn't my champion. It just so happens my champion is Australian and at last look was the World Champion.
  3. Would have thought Denmark would want to stage a round seeing as they are the reigning champions.....am sure Mr Olsen would love a round on the tarmac known as Vojens.
  4. Seeing as Backtrack often do features on the lesser known riders maybe an interview with my Uncle...Alan Armstrong. Alan rode for Middlesbrough, Castleford and Workington amongst others during the late 70's, early 80's. He was in the Workington that featured in the (in)famous drubbing at Crayford. If anyone needs contact details for him please let me know.
  5. Leszno will be holding the 2007 SWC Race-Off and Final. Well...that's what I heard on sky sports last night.
  6. What are Iversen's connections with Reading....I thought he was a Peterborough asset???
  7. Everyone has ranted and raved about how Crump should have been excluded and Nicholls shouldn't etc etc. First of all a big congatulations to all the riders for giving it a go thus proving they can ride in the rain. Secondly congratulations to AJ...a thoroughly deserving winner and the best rider on the night without a doubt. Thirdly Crump was right not to be excluded, Lindback went too wide and Crump had more speed on the inside. IMO Lindack went down a bit too easily but in the conditions probably had no choice. Finally...Nicholls and Andersen is becoming like Penhall and Carter all over again. The only one who will lose out is speedway, as the personal battle between those 2 could start to endanger others. All in all not a bad GP considering the conditions.
  8. Think it's safe to say Jason Crump will be the 2006 World Champion..........Go On Crumpie. Well done to Scotty on his 2nd place.
  9. No No No DBR....where Crump is concerned it will always be dirty riding according to Shovlar.....even more so when one of his beloved Pirates is involved.
  10. The only serious contender to JC was Hancock who Nicholls has just stopped from getting into the final....therefore possibly helping Crump extend his lead further.....therfore handing him the title. Simple eh???
  11. Know something we don't Steve. Crump will be at Belle Vue in 2007. Messrs Mole and Thomas would be crazy to even think about letting him go. If Crump doesn't ride for BV in 2007 it'll be because he's not riding in the Elite League.
  12. Nice one Scotty.......you could have possibly just handed the world title to Crumpie.
  13. A Poole fan agreeing with a Belle Vue fan.....miracles do happen
  14. Couldn't agree more. I like Andersen but everyone is raving about him after 2 GP's. He was left out of the series and had a massive point to prove at Parken. He's been given another chance tonight and is taking it with both hands but to say Crump is gratefu for Andersen not being in the series is utter tosh. Andersen wasn't a threat in 2003, 2004 or 2005 when JC finished 2nd, 1st and 2nd. Crump, on current form, is the best rider in the world and not even Hans Andersen would have stopped him gaining world title number 2.
  15. Tut Tut....I'd have thought you'd have gone for either JC or Steady.
  16. Interesting to note on Speedwayworld.tv that they have got Simon Stead at 33/1 whilst Lee Richardson is 66/1. Doesn't say which bookmakers came up with these odds but surely Rico should be 33/1 and Steady at 66/1 purely on the basis that one is a GP rider and the other a wildcard. Good luck to both Crumpie and Steady tomorrow...I shall be there shouting my socks off for you both.
  17. I'd imagine JC will be too busy to do the signings personally but there is a Jason Crump stand at the fayre so I guess they will have a number of pre-signed books.
  18. I'd go for: 1. Joe Screen 2. Simon Stead 3. Mark Loram 4. Lee Richardson 5. Scott Nicholls As back up I'd have Floppy and Bomber Harris.
  19. Happy New Year....Blimey, where have you been for the last 5 months...LOL Tips....Jason Crump to win. Gollob to finish 2nd and Hampel to come 3rd.
  20. I think it'll be a case of finding a pub and asking very nicely if they will show the speedway. I'm in Tenerife for the 3rd GP of the season and was wondering if anyone knew of any bars in the Las Americas area that would show it.
  21. Anyone know the reasons for Kenneth Bjerre and Simon Stead not riding for their teams
  22. That's all fine and dandy but resorting to calling Crumpie a G***hite and claiming he is everything you despise in speedway is just taking it a bit too far. Sure people don't like TRick and slate him for what he did in the EL this season but they don't resort to name calling....that is best left in the school playground.
  23. Congrats to Nicki P, Crumpie and Gollob on their podium finishes. Mr Shovlar...speedway is a sport where there are winners and losers. Mr Rickardsson does not just show up and win, he has to ride his bike to do that. Sometimes he will not always win. When this occasion arises please be sporting to those who finished ahead of him rather than resorting to name calling. And what exactly is it about Jason Crump that you despise??? Talented, Successful, One of the best at what he does..........I see now...all the things you're not. Resorting to calling him a G*b*hite, on your other thread which is now locked, shows you're just scraping the barrel. Twice Crump beat Rickardsson tonight....I'd hazard a guess that Tony didn't complain too much....so what got your back up????
