  1. Double up/ down has all but killed British domestic team speedway
  2. by hard to set up I mean on the track not as in timing , on the old dt500 jawa they needed loads more fuel to get them to go , not sure why they are so hard to get going well but history tells anybody when it comes to speedway double over cams don't work
  3. while this is fine in the GPs ,this tuner based situation is what domestic speedway needs to get away from ,is it not healthy where tuners are dictating success, how we achieve this is a tough one but a solution would benefit speedway
  4. I've bet on czestochowa to win the league , doesn't look like it is going to happen but was worth a punt with such big odds of 150-1
  5. no it hasn't improved the sport but it certainly has increased the unpredictable nature of the bike and rocketed the cost
  6. For me this engine had a flaw from the start and it was created by gerhard himself , to make the engine double overhead cam instead of single , I think it was 1980 when the last dohc engine was successful (DT500)and even then everyone else was on single cam engines , Dohc are notoriously hard to set up on speedway so why did gerhard go down this route , I believe if the GTR were a single cam it may of been the saviour it was designed to be
  7. The modern bike roughly travels at the same speed as the bikes in the 80s ,however the speed of the back wheel has increased by around 2000 revs and that 2000 revs has a lot to answer for in terms of cost and safety
  8. Zmarzlik worked overtime for that win , it was a class ride
  9. A damming piece on the local paper yesterday about cradley , the council hadn't even spoke to them and said the application they had received wasn't valid and they need to re do it
  10. you have seen the carpark and the mound , even outer fence to outer fence on corners would be tiny and that's without greyhound track or terraces
  11. yea I rode for Glasgow in 2000 at Ashfield and loved it there and only time I felt scared was after a meeting going in the Ashfield pub when Rangers and Celtic were playing
  12. Neil once showed me the way out of shawfield back to the motorway after I guested for Glasgow so as I didn't get lost and get beat up by the locals asking for directions , then on the way home my mechanic fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into an artic lorry and rolled the van , ahh memories
  13. and of course that's going to solve everything 😳
  14. I actually feel there is more to this than what's in the public domain
  15. if the first and second bend is where the mound is now and there is also a greyhound track going round the outside of that where is the stadium terracing supposed to go ?? , they could use one of the houses as the bar I suppose and maybe their garden shed as first aid room
  16. where the first and second bend is supposed to be is where the big mound of dirt is now on the end of car park , go round the housing estate at the back of that mound and you will see the houses are 150 yards from that mound , track is not going to happen
  17. Unfortunately there are too many people who think they are doing speedway a service with their constant criticism of the sport which isn't a bad thing but they offer no ideas or alternatives just shoot down every idea put forward , if I put forward a suggestion I don't mind people to say I'm wrong and explain why then offer an alternative but in the main they just say your wrong or your an idiot or whatever and that's it , I can think of a few , I've got pretty thick skin but I get why people get fed up with BSF when the same posters just turn every post into a personal spat between themselves ,so imagine if those personalitys were to be the people to work with the bspa
  18. It is in the interest of young polish riders to ride in England but the PGE and its teams don't share that view and certainly don't encourage it ,if your not a star in Poland your not well paid ,polish or otherwise , one under 21 pole was offered a really good deal to ride at reserve last season , his deal was based on points , if he scored up to 6 not including BP he was on poor points money but if he got 7 he was on mega money , only thing is he was partnered with the best reserve in the league so 9/10 he dropped points there and he only ever got 3 rides cause the other reserve got his others so hardly ever got his 7 points and ended up earning nothing ,he should of come to Britain where he was always in the team and had loads of meetings on different types of tracks and became a better all round rider , he did try to get a place in Britain but it never happened and now he is riding in a lower polish league
  19. it has but they don't want to see it , I don't like to go into detail about individual riders finances but some deals are truly eye opening for speedway , it's not that they don't deserve it but it's totally about speedway can't afford it
