  1. By beneficiaries do you mean the riders who were due to go? If so it was Richie and Steve Worrall, Kyle Newman, Ashley Morris, Tom Perry, Matt Williamson, Dan Greenwood and Hayden Sims.
  2. Me too Sue but did you know there is a cracking updates site so you can still find out what's going on even if you're not watching the match? Many thanks to the texters and updaters who do a brilliant job.
  3. Oh I don't know. 2010 was pretty good as well. The fighting Bees beating league leaders Poole home and away, Chris Harris being run over by his team mate then miraculously getting up and winning the re-run of the race. I wouldn't say any of that 2nd leg was 'rubbish'.
  4. Can't say I've missed watching it after I didn't start my Sky Sports subscription as usual in March. Would have quite liked to have seen the play-offs but judging by comments made I've not really missed much there either.
  5. Well done Belle Vue. At least they have won something this season after a few disappointing years for the E.L. team. Of course Coventry thought they'd give you a break this season and take over the bottom spot for a change.
  6. I think it will if he pulls his usual stunt of just giving up and toddling round like a novice at the back. I reckon all Speedway fans have similar views whatever league they follow in that they don't mind a rider losing as long as they can see he is trying his best. In K.K's case he often wasn't and that's what annoyed the Coventry fans this season, so good luck if he really is in Leicester's plans.
  7. Have you been to Leicester yet? Watch the racing there every week and you might just change your mind about Premier League being a better product. The truth is neither is as there are usually good races and boring races in all matches whichever league it is.
  8. I can see the point of Leicester being in the top league because of the other three Midland tracks so it makes sense but have to agree with you about the Elite League as it is a complete shambles.
  9. How about Kasprzak? He's just about running out of teams to ride for now.
  10. R.I.P Peter. Brilliant rider never forgotten.
  11. What happened to Lewis Bridger? Couldn't he find Leicester?
  12. Yes I do as well but I've given up over the years and now prefer my dogs as they are much nicer than the majority of humans.
  13. True. Even his dog didn't like him and they've usually got good taste.
  14. Here you go. Please note that once the stadium car park is full, we will direct cars to our overflow parking that is available on Boston Road and Sheene Road. There are several footpaths from these two streets to the stadium, and the way will be clearly signposted for your guidance.
  15. I'm even older than TWK and have been following speedway for 64 years. At the moment I am feeling quite pleased with myself because I agree with all your posts, which must mean that I have moved with the times. I don't think speedway racing is any different in 2013 as it was when I first started watching - there are some exciting races and some pretty boring ones, just like it has always been. I agree with having play-offs and much prefer the way the World Champion has to go through a series of meetings rather than just a one off final. A lot of fans still seem to rave about the 1981 World Final at Wembley but if you watch it back it wasn't that spectacular, apart from the races with Bruce Penhall in. I'm convinced a lot of older fans look back with 'rose coloured glasses' and think everything - not just speedway - was better in the past. The only thing I've not kept up with is a modern mobile phone with access to the internet because I would have known Coventry were riding last night on what was previously a blank date when I left for North Wales a week ago. Gutted I missed the last league match.
  16. Can't answer that question but friends I sit with (E.L. matches) have often commented about the track being graded so wide when the only one we've ever seen go that far out is Joonas Kylmakorpi. He's great to watch around Brandon.
  17. I don't think we are. We're quite used to defeat at Coventry. As long as the lads try their best that's all we ask for, something that hasn't always happened with the E.L. team this season.
  18. Must admit I used to do that but this season I've gone a bit further and cut out the whole lot as I'm not paying £25 a month just to watch E.L. racing. Can't say I have missed it.
  19. Will have to miss this one as I'll be away so good luck to The Storm. Presuming there is no meeting at all now on September 6th, E.L. or otherwise?
  20. Brilliant! Imagine a few Steve Shovlar's in the Poole grandstand.
  21. Two blankets washed and drying on the line ready for tonight at Peterborough, although to be fair they are for the dogs. I do have standards and wouldn't let them lie down on anything that is not in pristine condition. I'm so lucky as well because no chair needed at the Showground. Oh.....and I don't take sugar thanks. Hope the racing is good and Coventry put up some sort of fight.
  22. Well, I know what I am - E. Rolling in money though like all pensioners, according to SCB, so the only thing I've got to worry about is waking up safely every morning.
