  1. I think you're just going to have to develop a 'thick skin' and ignore any aggressive comments because that's the style of some members on the forum and they aren't going to change. Alternatively you could always put selected members on your ignore list then you won't have to read any of their posts. Click on your name at top right, then 'Manage Ignore Prefs', add the names and save.
  2. Wait until the Winter when there's no speedway 'cos it gets a lot worse.
  3. Coventry -------------------- Robert Branford Luke Crang r/r Oliver Greenwood James Sarjeant James Shanes Ryan Terry-Daley. Isle of Wight ---------------------------- Charles Wright r/r Ben Hopwood Darryl Ritchings Dan Greenwood Adam Ellis Chris Widman
  4. Doubt there will be an Elite League next season. Hopefully the G.P. riders will be ditched along with some of the dodgy foreigners and we can get back to some sort of normality riding every week.
  5. Heaven knows how we got there but I decided to follow the sat-nav instructions and it all became rather interesting to say the least. It was pretty normal until we got to Ashbourne but then we seemed to go 'off road' and ended up doing a number of miles on single track roads. Thanks for the post code Alan but never again.
  6. Ah yes......High Edge I think. Otherwise where will they end up - Leek?
  7. Looking forward to this meeting as I've not been to Buxton for a couple of years. Any other Coventry fans making the trip? If you've not been before - just keep going as you really will end up at a speedway track eventually.
  8. No it hasn't. All 30 pages are still here. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=73279
  9. I wonder if it's the same person who did the Poole ones? They were hillarious........except if you were a Pirates fan perhaps.
  10. No news is presumably good news? Just had another load of rain in Leicester though. Ooops....beaten to it by Mr Watson. Don't give any forecasts Neil.
  11. Teams: Edinburgh: 1. Craig Cook, 2. Derek Sneddon, 3. Theo Pijper, 4. Jozsef Tabaka, 5. Claus Vissing, 6. Tommy Fenwick, 7. Max Fricke Leicester: 1. Kauko Nieminen, 2. Jan Graversen, 3. Kevin Doolan, 4. Rider Replacement, 5. Micky Dyer, 6. Adam Ellis, 7. Robert Branford.
  12. I'd say arrive an hour before the start if you want to get in the car park. We got there at 6.40pm on Saturday and it was already full. However, there were probably more there because it was a top of the table clash - even I went for the first time this season. It's a heck of a walk from the shopping centre unless you are young and sprightly - which I'm not.
  13. Well done The Storm. Didn't go to this as I was making my first visit of the season to my local track (Leicester) but I'll be there on Friday and also hope to go to the Buxton meeting on July 7th.
  14. Made my first visit of the season and it looks like I picked a good meeting because I'm wondering why some fans moan about the track being the wrong shape if it can produce such exciting racing. Think I need to go for a lie down as I'm beginning to agree with David. After a very drawn out start when I began to think it was going to be one of those nights and I wished I'd stayed at home in the warm things improved and there was some excellent racing. Lions were 12 points up after eight heats so I'm sure the end result was disappointing but as I suppose I can be classed as a neutral I just enjoyed watching the battling performances from the back by Morris, Doyle and Josh. It showed that if riders attack the track there is plenty of passing and it is not just a gaters paradise. Well done to Somerset on their one point victory.
  15. Good post nobblytriers which just about sums up the situation. One of my pet hates is repetition so although I may agree with a lot of what Robert says I think we've all got the message now and it's just boring repeating the same things over and over again.
  16. Agree. I don't think either that a race should be called back if a rider happens to make a good start as long as he isn't rolling before the tapes go up. Some riders just have quicker reactions and some don't......Chris Harris for example.
  17. Oh dear. I thought it was only teenagers who attend speedway meetings in Summer clothes even though it's arctic. He may remember me walking by with the dog on my way to the back straight. If I'd known who it was I would have said 'Hello'.
  18. I only saw one person standing on the 3rd bend so don't tell me that was you wearing shorts whilst I had multi layers on and was still cold.
  19. I forgot to mention the 'new' announcer who seemed to blend in very well with centre green presenter Chris. I presume this will be the norm for the Bees matches as well now? I thought it worked okay and I much prefer having Chris with the roving mike.
  20. Although it looks like a very convincing win for The Storm there was actually some good racing and I enjoyed it. Shame there weren't more people there but I think the weather today put a lot off travelling. 21 miles away in Leicester we had several outbursts of torrential rain during the day which had me wondering whether to bother going, but strangely enough the Brandon track was that dry and dusty it had to be watered a couple of times. Well done to all the riders for putting on a good show.
  21. Good news. Thank you Mick Horton for listening to the fans as the majority would much prefer a 7.30pm start.
