  1. Yes, still eligible for free entry and she doesn't even have to limbo under the turnstiles as we are allowed in through the main gate. I know some people have their own views about dogs at speedway stadiums and I have mine so we'll just have to agree to disagree. At least it changed the subject from moaning about the track or the promotion at Leicester so I achieved my object when I posted about the dog. I knew it would get a reaction.
  2. Strangely enough I agree with the no dogs policy at B.P. too because there is not enough room. If dogs were allowed I still wouldn't take mine - too many dodgy people around and lots of mud and horrible stones underfoot. I don't agree with a ban on dogs at some other more spacious tracks though. If they are used to speedway and are not a nuisance I don't see why they shouldn't be there. It is outdoors afterall. You can't just generalize about every dog because they are all different and an owner will know what their own dog is like. Lucy comes with me to Coventry, gets a lot of fuss and a walk round the stadium before the meeting starts and then goes to sleep on a blanket for the rest of the night. A lot of dogs are taken to Brandon and are never a problem. In fact Edward the Golden Retriever even gets a ride round on the truck at the end of the match. Missed this one. Because I've always taken a dog with me for the past 30 years. They're introduced to speedway when they're 9 weeks old and I've never had one yet that has been frightened or caused any problem. Main reason is for company on the journey from Leicester to Coventry as I'm on my own and feel safer with a dog if the car broke down. The one I take now is 3 year old Lucy and she sits in the passenger seat looking out of the window all the way up the M69. Perhaps she doesn't trust my driving and is getting prepared to bail out if I have a crash.
  3. I'd prefer our first meeting to be at Brandon actually because I like my dog to have a good sniff around and pass her approval of anyone new. If she doesn't bite your leg then I know you're okay. Of course this test isn't possible at Beaumont Park because the miserable sods won't let her in.
  4. Ah that's the one I'll join then as it sounds the right one for me. Let me know when it's up and running dj350z and I'll come and stand with you.
  5. Hopefully Peter York might be looking for a job. If you think the two you've had already are bad you'll all love Yorkie.
  6. Just a friend who works at the school Conor attends.
  7. I know someone who would be very pleased with that choice.
  8. And to you John. Isn't this a bit too happy and upbeat for a Leicester thread though?
  9. So much easier via Virgin Media this October as it's just 'press 1, press 2, press 3' etc. to cancel the Sky Sports package, but I would have preferred to actually speak to a human being, even though they all appear to be Scottish so I can't understand what they're saying, so I could say I wouldn't be renewing next March due to no Speedway G.P's on Sky.
  10. Perhaps he can spend some time sitting on the loo and contemplating where he's going wrong and without being filmed this time.
  11. I appreciate the fact there will no doubt be a few more meetings at Leicester but that price does seem excessive. A season ticket for Elite League racing at Coventry is £250. 00p, including a reserved seat in the grandstand (if requested) and a free programme.
  12. Yes, I did. I'm that used to people saying how expensive speedway is compared to other forms of motorcycle racing I was beginning to believe them.
  13. I thought MotorX riders had to pay to compete and earn practically nothing in return?
  14. Was that David? He just can't give up on Cycle Speedway can he.
  15. Have you looked in here? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=36
  16. Shame I stop my Sky Sports package as soon as the speedway season is over.
  17. Disappointing. Just when I was thinking how good it was that the team manager is keeping fans informed of what's going on you say that. The Coventry promotion have their critics but one of the best things about last season was team manager Blayne Scroggins reviewing every match on Facebook and answering questions. Bees fans may rave about Colin Pratt and Alun Rossiter but I can't remember them ever interacting with the fans like that so it was very much appreciated. Hope you will just ignore the 'taking the mickey' type posts and carry on Glyn. although you will have to develop a sense of humour because I haven't really seen anything too bad yet to warrant you giving up on this topic.
  18. Brilliant. Can't wait for next season watching E.L. at Brandon, MDL in the 2nd half, plus National League on G.P. Friday's. Some tracks may not give value for money but Coventry certainly do. Variety is the spice of life.....or something like that.
  19. Thank you. As soon as I have your address I will post it. Hopefully Leicester will be in the E.L. next season. I will be on to my third wedding ring when I get it, but I suppose that's not bad in 46 years. Trouble is arthritis in my fingers and it took me ages to remove the ring over my knuckles. I thought I was going to have to get the secateurs out.
  20. Have you managed to get the book yet? If not I will make the ultimate sacrifice and let you have mine 'cos I'm saving up for a new wedding ring. What do you reckon - £10 plus postage?
  21. Really disappointing that Leicester have dropped out of the Elite League. Can't believe it really because they have a long history of being very successful. What is the reason do you know? Presumably not enough top riders? It was also sad to see the veteran riders not watching the sport any more - at least not on the occasions I've been to Slater Street.
  22. It hasn't applied for the last two seasons unfortunately but at Coventry Chris normally started slowly then got better as the season went on. By June/July he was really flying and was in top form at the end so why instead of getting new equipment didn't he wrap those bikes up in cotton wool over the Winter and start using the same ones that were flying again in March? It's always puzzled me.
