Doyle wants Somerset return but......
Gemini replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I doubt if they will be allowed to drop down so perhaps there is going to be one league afterall. Fingers crossed. -

Not many. Even Steve Shovlar couldn't bring himself to do the usual match report and disappeared. -

Try being a Leicester fan. 4 out of 5 years with sod all, apart from a collection of wooden spoons. -
Love to watch James riding. Great style and was lucky enough to see him quite a bit when he was a member of The Storm.

Fixture shambles - An annual event
Gemini replied to Hawk127's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Trouble with that idea is there probably wouldn't be many 'meaningful' matches up to the end of September as the league winner could have been decided much earlier. At least with the play offs a few clubs are usually in with a chance of reaching them so the battle goes on. Challenges are a bad idea too as the majority of fans aren't interested, especially on cold dark nights in October. -
Because Coventry will probably turn up with only half of their team due to work commitments mid week so they are guaranteed a massive lead? Worth it for a big crowd in the final.

He might be right but I can remember him on a wet Peterborough track not being at all interested and just riding around at the back in all of his races clearly making no effort. -

There might be an excuse in Coventry's case as they are dependent on the Leicester track being available? I don't think we'll have to worry about that next season though. -
Yes I understand that but as there is still the final to be arranged they should make every attempt to run the semi as soon as possible. Unfortunately 'dead rubber' matches have often taken place after the top league positions have been decided.
-
Do these outstanding fixtures make any difference to the top 4 places? If not then surely the Eastbourne v Coventry semi final matches should take priority.
-
I am sure you know by now Mimmo that the match is off. Been chucking it down with rain for ages.

There won't be any post and I certainly won't be congratulating Poole. Of course you will hang on. Pirates will probably also win at Kings Lynn ~ similar to what Coventry did in 2010 in the 2nd leg at Poole. Remember when they won both legs of the play-off final and the management acted like spoilt brats? Some of us never forget so don't expect any congratulations from me because you won't be getting them. -
Wouldn't be at all surprised.

Shame Matt Ford and Middleditch didn't think that in 2010 instead of acting like they did. Boots on the other foot now so of course their reactions will be completely different. -
This does sound a dodgy idea if they dont finish till 4pm as Bees match is supposed to start at 3pm. Should make it very interesting.
-
But can we? Someone has said there is an Amateur Meeting on Sunday that has been arranged for ages. Hopefully he is mistaken.
-
Difference of opinion doesn't give you the right to call him a 'sick man'. He didn't even mention Darcy Ward. I don't like or agree with a lot of posts but you are interpreting his words differently to how they were meant and to respond like you have done is way over the top.
-
Still a way over the top reaction and an attack on the poster.
-
Wow! That comment is really uncalled for.

You'll be lucky. Pretty much sums up how Speedway is now. Woz took the day off work so he could attend, I had to arrange for family members to visit yesterday and not today even though it was inconvenient for them. All for nothing. I'm not bothering again as I just don't believe the track couldn't have been prepared in time for a 4pm start.
-
Yes what happened? No rain since yesterday afternoon and with a 4pm start I was expecting the track to be sorted out okay, especially as it is a lovely sunny day. So disappointing.
-
I don't think that will be happening, although I wish it would so we get to see a bigger variety of teams and more fixtures. Hopefully Big Al is correct. I suppose we will find out soon.
