  1. That's the tune described, but I didn't hear anything - probably gone deaf listening to all those marching bands Sir L provided. To actually hear the tune in all it's glory try here (sorry I don't know how to do those here thingys. Lt...you have definitely missed a few hums out, but I'll let you off because it was a long time ago.
  2. Not one and the same person then?
  3. Two out of 1559 is not very good though. Perhaps we will have to spread the word. .. Anyway at least Porkyfenman is better than PorkyPrimeCut as I now have nice visions of a rather overweight gentleman instead of a pig going round on a spit.
  4. Do I get the prize then as I suggested that earlier on? ................................................................................ ................... "Imperial Echoes rings a bell. Can you hum that LT? Who was it that started this damn topic off? It's driving me mad now!" ................................................................................ .................... Thanks for letting us know Andy. Did your Dad tell you I met him for the first time at Peterborough last Wednesday? I did tell him to give you a slap from me and all the other contributors to this topic.
  5. I think he is now in Wolf's clothing, masquerading as Mr Wolf at Monmore Green. ;-)
  6. Can you ditch the "Merry Xmas" until December 24th then, being as you are going to be nice from now on? ... I'm trying not to think about it yet, but I know in about two weeks time the shops will be stocking up on crackers, cards, trees. Ugh!! Good job Shoddy is not around at the moment.
  7. No. And the riders individual scores don't usually add up to what the match result is. :? I don't feel too bad though because I'm certainly not the only one. Last week at Coventry three of us were all comparing our programmes because we had got different totals. Won't mention any names.
  8. Ah! A man after my own heart. Glad I'm not the only one.
  9. We had the dubious pleasure of having Finn Jensen in the Leicester Lions team as well. Afraid I'm not very keen on riders like him who end of with a scorechart of 0-3-0-3-0. I'd rather someone be consistent even if it's only a row of third places.
  10. I am actually quite surprised that health and safety issues still allow guests on the centre green whilst the racing is on because occasionally - and thank goodness it is only occasionally - a rider or bike can go out of control and career across the grass. This happened at Newport when we were there and a photographer was quite badly injured. How is he now by the way - anyone know? At the time there were a number of disabled people in wheelchairs on the centre green with their carers and I thought this incident could have had even more catastrophic results than it did. Also there was the incident at Coventry a few months ago when a sidecar outfit went out of control and careered onto the centre. Luckily the track staff were able to jump out of the way, but it was a very close thing.
  11. Joanne won't be because she is cruising on the high seas at the moment.
  12. Whatever happened to the man who used to parade up and down outside Owlerton Stadium inside a sandwich board saying "The end of the World is nigh." :?:
  13. You could be right there Falcace. Brilliant track last night for the Bees match against Poole and the record went in the first race, but the racing....mostly processional. The Kings Lynn track was the same when we went there in May and I remember Star Lady commenting it was "too fast and smooth" or words to that effect. Result - worse match I've seen for years, with Edinburgh taking a real beating because they weren't getting out of the gate all night.
  14. Better make that 99% Philip - minus Jason Crump born in......now where was it?..... Bristol, United Kingdom.
  15. I hope you are not classing me as a habitual moaner! And Holly only joined today so she can't be classed as one presumably. I thought twice about answering her post - in fact I came back a couple of hours later to remove it but by then there had been replies quoting it. The trouble is if you give an opinion on this forum which is different to others you get pounced on and told to "get a life" or worse. I can't see anything terribly wrong with my post - doesn't sound like moaning to me - just stating my opinion of the Final. I expected Britain to come last beforehand and sadly they did.
  16. Well done to Sweden. I do so like it when the underdogs win. Just for the record it's interesting to note that the overall result would have been the same without the jokers so no-one was robbed. Sweden... 58 (62) Australia.. 57 (57) Denmark..49 (53) Poland......46 (49) England....40 (44)
  17. I don't think we will be very popular saying anything against the British riders, but the real test was always going to be when they met the "big boys". It seemed to me, with a couple of exceptions, that they didn't want to mix it on the first bend, but were happy to hang back and see what happened and whether there would be an opportunity to come through after the rest had sorted themselves out. Unfortunately often it didn't arise. Anyway, congratulations to Sweden who rode their hearts out without top man Tony Rickardsson.
  18. Probably, and a very nice thing to do. Thanks Middlo and good luck to the lads. As long as they keep riding with determination like they have been doing that's all we fans ask.
  19. I'm probably in a minority but I actually like Kelvin's commentary in whatever position he is in. Could do without the umms and errs, but otherwise I think he does a good job. I like Nigel Pearson too, but couldn't stand Peter Collins. I'm glad he seems to have disappeared off the scene (or screen).
  20. Good joke Steve. Way over the head >>>>>>>> :? I don't know why we bother sometimes! Not nice to be called an idiot though.
  21. I would imagine Neil will keep the same team as no-one under-performed so they all deserve a chance to meet the "big boys" in the final.
  22. Seem to be okay Mylor but I don't think they are kept too far back now. Anyway, I've found his very own thread on the 27th December 2002 - "Trackman's Track Thread" so that should keep you occupied for a while. http://www.speedwaymanager.co.uk/forum/top...p?TOPIC_ID=6780
  23. Yes, sorry. Please accept my apologies. I was just following on from the previous post saying I hope you're joking.
