  1. I hope you are not classing me as a habitual moaner! And Holly only joined today so she can't be classed as one presumably. I thought twice about answering her post - in fact I came back a couple of hours later to remove it but by then there had been replies quoting it. The trouble is if you give an opinion on this forum which is different to others you get pounced on and told to "get a life" or worse. I can't see anything terribly wrong with my post - doesn't sound like moaning to me - just stating my opinion of the Final. I expected Britain to come last beforehand and sadly they did.
  2. Well done to Sweden. I do so like it when the underdogs win. Just for the record it's interesting to note that the overall result would have been the same without the jokers so no-one was robbed. Sweden... 58 (62) Australia.. 57 (57) Denmark..49 (53) Poland......46 (49) England....40 (44)
  3. I don't think we will be very popular saying anything against the British riders, but the real test was always going to be when they met the "big boys". It seemed to me, with a couple of exceptions, that they didn't want to mix it on the first bend, but were happy to hang back and see what happened and whether there would be an opportunity to come through after the rest had sorted themselves out. Unfortunately often it didn't arise. Anyway, congratulations to Sweden who rode their hearts out without top man Tony Rickardsson.
  4. Probably, and a very nice thing to do. Thanks Middlo and good luck to the lads. As long as they keep riding with determination like they have been doing that's all we fans ask.
  5. I'm probably in a minority but I actually like Kelvin's commentary in whatever position he is in. Could do without the umms and errs, but otherwise I think he does a good job. I like Nigel Pearson too, but couldn't stand Peter Collins. I'm glad he seems to have disappeared off the scene (or screen).
  6. Good joke Steve. Way over the head >>>>>>>> :? I don't know why we bother sometimes! Not nice to be called an idiot though.
  7. I would imagine Neil will keep the same team as no-one under-performed so they all deserve a chance to meet the "big boys" in the final.
  8. Seem to be okay Mylor but I don't think they are kept too far back now. Anyway, I've found his very own thread on the 27th December 2002 - "Trackman's Track Thread" so that should keep you occupied for a while. http://www.speedwaymanager.co.uk/forum/top...p?TOPIC_ID=6780
  9. Yes, sorry. Please accept my apologies. I was just following on from the previous post saying I hope you're joking.
  10. Okay thanks. That's bad news for Sweden, but also for Poole on Monday at Brandon. Perhaps gives the Bees a bit of a chance to win now.
  11. I hope you're not joking because you should know by now that threads like these go down like a lead balloon and they're not funny. :-(
  12. Damn! :-( I know the negative side to Gemini's is that they are changeable and two faced, but I really cannot keep up with Joanne. I thought she was now a fully fledged Bees fan. She has even got the programme board and pen.
  13. Hi Julie. It's nice to see you back posting on here again. Hope you have a great time, but I'm sure you will being as you've done the sensible thing by leaving hubby and children at home. Try and meet up with Joanne as she is on her own as well. She is even quite keen on the Bees and often comes over to Brandon from High Wycombe.
  14. I like you Beegee as you are always so fair and unbiased with your comments. So what do you think the reason is why Max has had such a bad year by his standards? I believe I read somewhere he is using a different engine tuner. Why would he change when he has always ridden so well before?
  15. Oh I can! He's had quite a few consecutive off nights this season.
  16. Is a Joker allowed in the final race of the night? I thought the same as you about Mikael Max so presumed it would make no difference where he finished in heat 24.
  17. Oh. I'm sure I would if I hadn't gone senile. How far back are we talking? I was born in 1940.
  18. No...but I'm sure I will now! Perhaps he's been taking lessons off Kelvin Tatum, master of the eeerrrr..ummms.
  19. Phew! Just checked back on the posts on here and no..I've not made any comment about the team chosen. Brilliant performance by the GB team, but let's not get too carried away because most races last night were just like match races with only Australia and Great Britain involved. I'm afraid barring a miracle Australia were always going to win with Adams and Crump covering the last couple of races. Good luck on Thursday lads and let's hope they can ride as well and get through to the final. By the way was that really a small track? No times were given so I couldn't judge, but it didn't seem that small to me.
  20. Should be able to find some in the forum archives. Alternatively check other forums - especially the Oxford one where he is still ranting on.....I mean giving his wise opinions.... on how to prepare a track. You know I'm only joking Trackman. Regards from Pawprint. xxx
  21. I thought it was funny too English Rose. Whoever taught them to say "You know" in every sentence wants shooting. So does the person who told Hans Andersen "F**k" was an every day English word to use.
  22. LT is on holiday at the moment Sir L., but it's only for a week so I'm sure he will be on here as soon as he gets back. Bet he's been lying on the beach humming tunes and driving his wife mad!
  23. Well, that's a shame I say. Even Pawprint likes that one! I usually sing it when letting her out of the car at Brandon and she joins in the chorus.
  24. Sorry Fluffy Bunny. Hope I'm forgiven. I must have had the devil in me that day. I will now be reserving judgement until I see how he rides in The World Cup. By the way, credit where it's due, I hate to say this but I quite enjoyed his performance on Sky on Monday. I think it must have been the very fetching mac that did it.
  25. Yes, but do they still play it? All the music was so low key this year either I'd gone deaf or it was turned down so low it was almost inaudible. Bring back "Hey Baby" and "Who let the dog's out." as well I say!
