  1. I'm a bit puzzled by all this. :? At Cardiff if you get a ticket you are booking a certain seat so there is no need to get there early. Presumably in Poland if you get a ticket it's a bit of a free-for-all to get the best seats when you arrive at the stadium?
  2. Courtesy of the Coventry programme (September 3rd) so don't shoot me if any of the riders are incorrect due to injury. Saturday September 13th - Kumla, Sweden. David Howe (Great Britain) Kenneth Bjerre (Denmark) Ryan Fisher (USA) Peter Ljung (Sweden) Rafel Szombierski (Poland) Jonas Davidsson (Sweden) Krzystof Kasprzak (Poland) Oliver Allen (Great Britain) Fredrik Lindgren (Sweden) Chris Harris (Great Britain) Robert Miskowiak (Poland) Matej Zagar (Slovenia) Jamie Smith (Great Britain) Jaroslaw Hampel (Poland) Niels Kristian Iversen (Denmark) Rafal Kurmanski (Poland) Reserves:- Martin Smolinski (Germany) and Lukasz Romanek (Poland)
  3. Ugh! :-( I noticed that as well Rabbit, but thought I'd better not say anything about Nicki. Now you know why I like to keep away from the pits at Speedway meetings so I can continue to look through my rose coloured glasses and think all the riders are wonderful. ;-)
  4. Yo! Think I will have to try this sometime as I'm sure that betting site are fed up with me being a member but only looking at the results.
  5. As one who notices the "little things in life" as well as the Speedway, I would like to nominate Hans Effin' Andersen as Rider of the Night. Whilst the cameraman was following him back to the pits he proceeded to discharge the contents of both nostrils, one at a time, whilst holding one side of his nose with a finger. I've always wondered how it's possible to manage this? Presumably it's advisable only when the wind is blowing in the right direction otherwise there might be a bit of a return to sender reaction. Hans next time just wipe your nose on your sleeve.
  6. There wasn't much chance of seeing many forum members in the crowd as 99% of the time the very biased cameraman (he must have been from Poland?) focused on the Polish fans whenever any supporters were shown. Did have a very good view of Julie from Coventry right at the beginning though.
  7. The TV coverage starts at 6pm (our time) and usually it's about 15 minutes before the first race begins. Looks like you will have a bit of remote controlling to do until 7.30pm.
  8. Anyone who likes to watch the channel four highlights one hour programme (like me) will have to set the alarm clock for 1.25am on Sunday morning, or set the video, which is what I will be doing. The repeat will be on Thursday morning at 4am if that's any better.
  9. Yo!! Glad you've arrived safely Joanne. No planes skidding on runways, no turbulence, high-jackers.... I'm only jealous 'cos I daren't fly. :-( Enjoy your weekend. Hope it is a good GP. Make sure you keep Pawprint zipped up in that bag at the stadium.
  10. Yes, I love Jason Crump and all his tantrums. Hope if anything goes wrong tomorrow, Grandad will have the sense to keep out of his way this time.
  11. I was bored witless this morning if that counts! Did you get to see the usual 3 hours on Extra? Luckily we on NTL only had to put up with two. I counted four good races out of the 25 - heats 6, 9, 15 and 21. I was shocked to see Crumpie push his Grandad away when he gave him a comforting pat on the back. What a complete and utter spoilt brat he is. If my Grandson did that to me I would give him a clip round the ear!
  12. Interesting post, but a few flaws I think. To answer the point above - where do you think we are going to find ten riders per team who would be willing to just ride in England once a fortnight and not ride for any other team abroad? Speak for yourself! Why should we all be reduced to a meeting every two weeks because some can't afford to take all the family? Afraid that won't work due to some tracks not wishing to be promoted for various reasons - but mostly the expense of being in a higher league. Agree with that statement. Must say that since new owners have taken over at Brandon they are concentrating on doing just that and are doing a brilliant job. Not thinking of anyone in particular here are you?
  13. And perhaps now it would be nice if all those who contacted Sky would write again saying thanks for changing their schedules to fit the Speedway in.
  14. Ahem!! Will I do? ... July 26th.....Gemini..... following on from another batch of tune titles (no music this time) provided by your goodself. Shame this thread has finished as it was good fun. Mind you Summit still thinks this was the Coventry signature tune and not Leicester, unless they both used the same one :?: ..
  15. That's good news for anyone with Sky, but as an NTL subscriber I won't be able to watch this. :-( Anyone know if it will be repeated on SS 1, 2 or 3?
  16. Thanks Adam. I have been doing a bit of hovering and know who they are now. At least I got you right, but must send apologies to Sid who has got very nice hair. The joke being that Lt hasn't got any, but don't tell him I've let all the World know.
  17. Yes, I was wondering that. I think the young lad might be Adam Lowe, but have no idea who the other two are. :? Unless...unless...that's not you in the middle is it after a mistake with the bleach bottle again?
  18. So is this a good reason not to have covers on British tracks? We all seem to think this will be the answer to rain-offs, but obviously not.
  19. That explains it as I must admit to looking for you with a couple of children and in roughly the same place you were the previous week. :-(
  20. Thanks Lioness. That looks pretty straight forward. I have made a note how to do it in my notebook so I don't forget - well one of my three notebooks on how to do things on the computer. :? ..
  21. Heard this on the Brandon terraces on Monday as well so it must be true and that Colin Meredith is returning to Brandon - you missed that bit out. What difference does that make? You give your real name but you still talk a load of rubbish sometimes.
  22. Whereabouts were you Julie? I saw you on Saturday, but not on Monday when Joanne was at Brandon, which is a shame because I wanted to introduce you to each other prior to Prague. :-( Sorry about that Joanne, but at least you are in contact now. Hope you all have a great time.
  23. You were quick Lioness! I was trying to be clever and do what you did with the link - didn't work though. :-(
