Nothing new there as the track has rarely produced decent racing since Leicester opened. To be fair things definitely improved last season after bends 3/4 were altered so once it has settled down and the riders get used to the change to bends 1/2 the racing should be on a par to any other track, which probably means 5 or 6 good races out of 15.

Hardly surprising is it on a Wednesday night with the majority of people working? I know if I went I'd want to spend a week there on holiday to make the journey worthwhile. There was a good attendance at Peterborough because the match was held on a Sunday afternoon and no doubt lots of Coventry fans will be at Leicester too on May 13th as it's a Saturday. Mid week meetings are difficult unless one is self employed and can afford to have two days off.

So how does SCB define a puncture? Does that come under the 'bad luck' list being as falling off or an engine failure doesn't? Leicester on a 4-2 in heat 15 which would take them through to the next round of the KO Cup with an aggregate two point victory, only for Kim to suffer a puncture on the back straight of the last lap when leading, so turning it into a victory for Somerset. That's not bad at all as no match should take longer than 2 hours, barring any delays due to accidents. I noticed that the Leicester meeting ran at a steady speed and there was only a 10 minute interval thank goodness as it was bitterly cold. Thanks to Margaret Vardy and all concerned.
