Somerset V Swindon 21/4/17
Gemini replied to Aroundtheboards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes, he even wore a T-Shirt a few years ago with the words 'I Was Wrong' on the front. I can't remember now what he was wrong about though. -
.......Can't stand people who say things they can't back up, especially when they're being downright rude, as I've been brought up to be conscientous.
-
Which was my whole point as I can't stand injustices ~ you've very rarely been to any matches for at least 2 years and haven't been this season so why the rude comments. The idiot who now sits on the tractor has not got a clue and he never will have. Where do they get them from. How do you know he hasn't a clue if you've never seen him? I think you'll find he is an experienced track curator but probably having to deal with a difficult situation at the moment regarding the shale available and alterations to bends 1/2 which will take time to bed in.

I'd like to know why Coventry only had one rider in heat 15 of the Peterborough match after hanging around for ages.
-
Hope Leicester are first in the queue then being as it's a Leicester quarry.

Just one more annoying delay in meetings that take forever to finish. Perhaps one day promoters will realise they're even starting to irritate long standing fans now.

Probably wouldn't be completely happy anywhere but has to ride in the UK to get his visa? I'm sure given the chance like many others he would give us a miss. -
Nothing new there as the track has rarely produced decent racing since Leicester opened. To be fair things definitely improved last season after bends 3/4 were altered so once it has settled down and the riders get used to the change to bends 1/2 the racing should be on a par to any other track, which probably means 5 or 6 good races out of 15.

Well, it wouldn't for me as I'd still want to stay for the week if I did that journey. -

Hardly surprising is it on a Wednesday night with the majority of people working? I know if I went I'd want to spend a week there on holiday to make the journey worthwhile. There was a good attendance at Peterborough because the match was held on a Sunday afternoon and no doubt lots of Coventry fans will be at Leicester too on May 13th as it's a Saturday. Mid week meetings are difficult unless one is self employed and can afford to have two days off. -
That's rather rude and arrogant. Have you even been to Beaumont Park this season to see any tractor grading as I know you rarely went last year or are you just jumping on the bandwagon?
-
Okay thanks. Won't repeat anything

Be nice to know FACTS then perhaps fans wouldn't speculate. Let's have some then please as you seem to know.

Peterborough Vs Ipswich Non 17th April
Gemini replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
....Give me £1,000 and you can, but not necessarily with Simon Lambert as I've no idea what he looks like and I'm fussy. Shame about the end bit of grandstand that is always out of bounds now because that's where I used to go. Having two dogs who like to stretch out and go to sleep it kept them out of everyone's way. I presumed it was because of needing stewards but this is Speedway we're talking about and there aren't usually any problems. Health and stupid Safety strikes again. -
Leicester V Somerset 15-4-17

1]Good, 2] good, 3]good and 4] good. Sorry I've chucked my programme away and I've been to another meeting since then so I can't remember any specific details. Have a read through http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/16524/leicester-somerset-premiership-koc-2017?page=1&scrollTo=321316 or alternatively hopefully someone with a better memory can tell you. Lions did have bad luck in heat 15 though when Kim had a puncture on the back straight of the last lap while leading so it made the difference between going through to the next round or not. Unfortunately it meant not. -

You were saying? Must admit looking at the 2 teams on paper beforehand I thought Ipswich would easily win. Close. Me too, although not truly neutral as I wanted the Panthers to win. Is it me or has Simon Lambert got a really weird style of riding? -

I don't think these meetings are anything to do with Mick so he wouldn't be getting anything. You can put your tenner in the bucket now. -

Definitely. My two love going to Peterborough and take a keen interest in the racing. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153948747132785&set=a.10150784554067785.494859.550797784&type=3&theater -

So how does SCB define a puncture? Does that come under the 'bad luck' list being as falling off or an engine failure doesn't? Leicester on a 4-2 in heat 15 which would take them through to the next round of the KO Cup with an aggregate two point victory, only for Kim to suffer a puncture on the back straight of the last lap when leading, so turning it into a victory for Somerset. Hard luck Lions but well done to the Rebels. -
That's not bad at all as no match should take longer than 2 hours, barring any delays due to accidents. I noticed that the Leicester meeting ran at a steady speed and there was only a 10 minute interval thank goodness as it was bitterly cold. Thanks to Margaret Vardy and all concerned.
