Meeting OFF on bspa site
-
Great turnout ,,,decent racing ,,Awfull referee ,she seemed to condone riders knocking others off...Good performances from Compton,, Boxall and Kirby ..Meeting dragged a bit needs sorting for curfew nights... How ever an overall feeling that things are on the up..
-
Good effort from the kings took a point from the meeting losing by only 5 ,, if they are using the same system as the league .. Confidence.booster for Kirby ,shame about the retirements..I suppose comparisons will be made between Comptons score and what Mason might have scored i dont think it would have effected the result and it was Comptons first meeting..Steve and Ben did what they had to do in a top heavy side ,well done lads ... Roll on 3pm tomorrow....
-
Adam Kirby is a revelation so far,,Steve and Ben M also doing the business ,need one or two of the others to pick up their game and we might cause a shock ,,keep it going lads..Where is the Whipper?
-
Gustix excellent reply to my post, sorry to here you can not make it to meetings now days, keep up your interest in the Kings if you have any questions i will try to answer them,,All the best and keep posting...Waco..

Picturesque setting up a mountain, have enjoyed my visits there with my grandson Ben Morley, in previous seasons,, but a really tough track to go to for first time riders often quite deep and difficult to turn on ,,having said that the Hitmen are not much stronger than the Kings on paper,, so hopeing all the lads will enjoy the experience and learn something from it,,stay safe and be fresh enough to put up a good show on monday afternoon against the Fen Tigers 3pm start...
-
Another tough match for the King s,,Benji will need to slot straight in, but could well be a little rusty ..If the track has indeed improved i would expect our youngsters to be more comfortable on it ...For sure Steve and Ben will need to be on their game if we are to get anything from this encounter. However.Mildenhall dont look as strong as last season ,,,...Stefan Nielsen (NOT RIDING ) has yet to hit top form and Guest Robert Branford is a battler And may well be a better option,,,, On the minus side , John Armstrong may be carrying an injury, and their youngsters may find the track takes time to get used too,so im hopeing for a great afternoons racing,, and who knows ? maybe a good result...

Gustix do you actually attend speedway meetings these days as you seem to be living in the past . Things have changed a lot over the years not always for the better ill admit but thats the way it is now ..And you need to comment on things as they are now..
-
Good to hear that extensive work has been carried out on the track this week .Hopefully it will ride better and give the riders more confidence ..I do feel that an improved track was all that was needed for David Mason to show his true form... Looking forward to a good meeting on monday. 3 pm start weather looking fine...
-
Because he is another anomaly we get every year in this league with a rider of exceptional ability allowed to remain at reserve for a very long time before his true average takes him to no1 , He is probably the best rider in his team and indeed rides at a higher level in the premier league and will likely be riding in the elite league very shortly.. And i would add very good luck to him he is an outstanding prospect ,,...He should have been given a new average based on last years performances,,, that is only my opinion,, you are of course entitled to yours...
-
I cant see that happening...
-
As a stand alone team it should have been considerably stronger,,it was built to accomodate Steve Boxall with a very high average and Robert Lambert with a ridiculously low one like Adam Ellis at the I.O.W ,,coming in at reserve ...Ellis signed ,,Lambert did,nt ..Hence the present situation,,not ideal and difficult now to resolve,,personally i feel sorry for David Mason he put a lot into pre season promotions and would have improved when and if ?? the track improves,, and it remains to be seen if Benji Compton can return to his best form on a track that at the moment is far from ideal for any rider.....Let alone first season rookies !!..
-
Highly negative posters like the Whipper here,, and Cris at Rye ,thrive on responses just ignore them they will eventually get fed up that nobody is taking any notice of them and go away......
-
I think you will find Ben Morley has scored 11 and 6=17 from 2 matches .. i wont go in to the rest..! Just ignore the Whipper...
-
What is Benji,s average does it leave room for other changes lower down the order ,,?
-
What is the source of this information on David Mason and Benji Compton ???
-
As has been said by many the team needs strengthening ,,easier said than done Our top man Steve Boxall is on a huge average 11.38 leaving little to play with i dont know of any 3 to 4 pointers out there that would do any better, to be fair i have seen all these young riders ride considerably better at Rye House where the track is much smoother ..jack Kingston is a good gater and has pace but needs to calm down a little to make more controlled improvement..Adam Kirby had one excellent ride to show what he can do,,needs to bring that ride to the fore on a regular basis. Connor Coles showed great potential last season but is on very old equipment and it shows ,,same can be said for Sam Woods who is desperate for some faster bikes......At the moment, and he may need a little time to get dialed in David Mason is not looking like the 7.32 ave heat leader he should be.i feel he just needs the track to improve more than anything else ,he has good equipment and i know he will be working hard to improve,,Ben morley will do a good job for the team as second heat leader and will be looking to up his game and improve his 7.82 average this season..Steve Boxall is a superb rider has only one bike though, which could prove problematical on occasions. . his.engine blew on monday very exspensive !..An 11.38 ave is a tall order for any rider to live up too ,but if any one can do it Steve can...Time for the riders and the track to improve is whats needed,, it is to be hoped the fans will be patient.....
-
We will have the advantage of having had couple of outings on the track and the I.O.W track is huge in comparison .How ever the I.O.W are strongly tipped for the league title ,, and have strength in depth..There should be some good racing but this will be a tough test for the Kings
-
[/There is an 8-30 curfew] Hence the need to start at 6-30 which probably wont be early enough to complete some matches ..May need to start even earlier if they cant get the curfew time moved...This is a terrible situation caused by the local council being totally unreasonable
-
The weather looks a bit iffy for kents first ever away match at Stoke and they take with them a very long tail, thanks to Lambert not signing ..To be honest i expect a bit of a tonkin..Still you never know?......
-
I have already suggested to them., that these young lads dont read whats on this site during the season as some of it can have a demoralising effect.. Some will progress faster the others and only time will tell,, but give them that time...
-
While Lambert would have been a 3 point heat leader, and we are obviously a lot weaker without him, and many will be dissapointed i know,,But Sam Woods has been gaining experience abroad ,He went out with Ben Morley at the Rye practice and was no more than 20 yards behind him all morning ,,so he looks on the pace and won some second half races by a country mile the other saturday,,Although we have 3- 3 pointers the faster pair will start at reserve ,,i believe Sam and Adam are good prospects and if Jack Kingston can up his pace a little,,he is already pretty smooth he will be too....It will take a little time and Connor has to get used to different equipment,so if the fans stick with it ,the future for the Kent Kings is bright ,,just dont expect to much to soon.....

Rye House V Glasgow (koc) - 20th April 2013
waco replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The Rockets gave Glasgow a gating lesson tonight,,even Kasper lykke has improved his starting this season and fellow reserve Ben Morley finally found his gating boots after switching to his second bike .Jason Garrity was in superb form shame heat 15 denied him a max ..The whole team was firing on all cylinders and made Glasgow look far worse than they probably are .The points lead from tonight should see them through to the next round of the KO cup,and the result at Plymouth last night gives them fresh hope of qualifying for the League Cup finals .. -
Message to Nikko from the guvnor,, First aiders are compulsary ,,so some urgency on this...
